This hotel has some very good features that I was very happy with and some less important issues that are not deal breakers. First, the very good: USB charge ports (USB-A, USB-C) on both sides of the bed; absolute black-out curtains keep the room totally dark; both firm and soft pillows supplied; controllable air-conditioning/heating; a window that can be opened; stable temperature hot water; friendly staff; fantastic location (quiet, clean neighborhood, lots of restaurants, close to metro); large shower area with choice of shower head; firm (but not rock-hard) mattress; four bottles of drinking water supplied each day; and, most importantly, all rooms are non-smoking. This last point is more common in the major cities but not expected in Dongguan. (Beware of other hotels with ”some non-smoking rooms” - this means that both smoking AND not smoking in these rooms is permitted.) I did not sample the breakfast menu. The not-so-good in the room is the limited control of internal room lighting. The minimal setting is bright enough for most use and there is no way to set the internal lighting very low. There is no pen/paper supplied, and no phone in the room. You are expected to use WeChat to communicate with front-desk. The good thing about this is WeChat's builtin translation facility. The staff don't speak English (and neither do I expect them to as this isn't really a hotel for foreign travelers). There is a self-service laundry with four washing machine and drier sets on level 3A. These are free to use and (apparently) have self-dosing detergent. I never had to wait to use this facility. Level 3A (the forth floor, in reality) is shared by the hotel with a billiards club so the hotel lifts are often occupied with non-hotel customers who do smoke, so this level can smell stale at times. (I stayed on another floor and experienced no issues with air quality. In summary, I would certainly stay here again the next time I visit Dongguan.

Check in and check out went smoothly as long as you can converse in Chinese, I used Google Translate and it worked well. We were in a king room and it was quite spacious, there was sufficient room to keep our toiletries by the sink and our luggage. We had a sofa, table and small chair in our room. There is a smart toilet with a heated seat. The shower pressure is really good. There is one English speaking channel. I liked that there was no carpet in the room but laminated floors. A real bonus was free laundry and they had 5 washers and dryers on the 12th floor. The hotel is within walking distance to MixC mall which is very modern and there were many eateries in the mall. Another bonus is the Songshanbei intercity railway station which is about 200m from the hotel. You can buy a ticket very cheaply and ride to Guangzhou South railway station but it is really slow, it took about 1 hour. If you are unlucky you could be standing but if you leave around 10ish you should be able to get a seat. They offer breakfast for a fee which we did not partake in. Within walking distance there is a Starbucks and McDonald’s inside the mall. I would recommend this hotel to others because of the many eateries, intercity railway station, laundry facilities and cleanliness.i

Location: 5/5 – Absolutely Strategic! The biggest strength of this hotel is its unbeatable location. You’re steps away from McDonald's and Luckin Coffee for quick bites and caffeine. A well-stocked mall is right beside the hotel, making it super easy to grab daily necessities. The best part? A lively night market is directly opposite the hotel! This makes finding delicious, affordable local food incredibly convenient any time of the evening. The whole area is very 热闹 (rènào - bustling/energetic) – perfect if you want to be in the heart of the action. Cleanliness: 3/5 – Okay for the Price, Manage Expectations The general cleanliness is acceptable, if you adjust your expectations. It's definitely not a 5-star luxury experience, but for a budget/mid-range stay, it's passable and reasonably maintained. Don't expect immaculate perfection, but the basics are covered. Room & Atmosphere: 2/5 – Persistent Smoke Smell The major downside, especially in the rooms and hallways, is a strong and pervasive smoke smell. It's quite noticeable and doesn't dissipate easily. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common issue in many hotels within the region, but it's definitely present and unpleasant here if you're sensitive to it. Breakfast: 1/5 – Strongly Not Recommended / Unhygienic Avoid the breakfast option. Hygiene standards here are very poor. I personally observed small cockroaches crawling on the tables in the breakfast area. This is completely unacceptable and a major health red flag. Do yourself a favor and skip it entirely. Thankfully, with McDonald's, Luckin, the mall food court, and the fantastic night market opposite, you have plenty of much better (and cleaner) alternatives nearby. Overall: This hotel is all about the location, location, location. If being in a super convenient, vibrant area with easy access to food, coffee, and shopping is your top priority, and you're on a budget, it serves that purpose. The cleanliness is tolerable for the category. However, the strong smoke smell in the rooms and corridors is a significant drawback, and the breakfast is dangerously unhygienic (cockroach sighting confirmed). Choose this hotel for the prime spot if you can tolerate the smoke and definitely plan to eat breakfast elsewhere. Who should stay: Budget-conscious travelers prioritizing an unbeatable, lively location who aren't sensitive to smoke smells and will skip the hotel breakfast. Who should avoid: Families with young children, travelers sensitive to smoke, those prioritizing high cleanliness standards, or anyone planning to eat the hotel breakfast.

This is my second time staying at Kande Hotel. I typically stay for about 14 days each trip, so I have had plenty of time to really settle in and appreciate the experience. The location is incredibly convenient, right in the heart of Dongguan and close to everything you might need. What surprised me, though, is how quiet the rooms are despite being in the city center. There is no traffic noise or street disturbance, which makes a real difference when you are traveling for work and need to rest. The staff are excellent. They are friendly and professional, but what stands out is that they actually remember my preferences from my previous stay. Those small touches go a long way when you are there for an extended period. I also appreciate the pillow menu. I personally cannot sleep without a memory foam pillow, so having that option is a real plus. They also have a robot delivery service for food and parcels. It sounds like a small thing, but it is surprisingly convenient and adds a nice modern touch. The view from the room is beautiful, and breakfast is another highlight. There is always a good variety, but my go to is the 烧鹅濑粉. It is honestly the best I have ever had. Looking forward to my next stay.

hotel location is pretty good, in between Rainbow District and Humen Walking Street, the hotel building is part of a condo cluster on top of a shipping mall, so the lobby is not be ground floor but 3rd floor. when taking taxi, ask driver to search for shopping mall 君乐汇 drop off, will be much easier. rooms are modern and spacious, aircon and water pressure for shower is good, housekeeping is top notch, rooms are clean and beds are comfy, pillows are on the softer side, can ask for hard pillows or extras when required. hotel allows late check out until 4pm, that's pretty good for those with late flights out. those who fly out of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, there's a bus that can be taken from 虎门候机楼 bus station that's at another hotel. hotel amenities are good, used the gym, pretty basic but enough for a good workout, swimming pool is open 7am to 9pm, closed in between from 12-2pm. have to bring own swimming cap or buy one at counter. the pool is run by a club and shared between hotel and condo clusters so weekends and day time will be crowded. pool water is not treated so best to use goggles. shopping mall below hotel makes eating very convenient but head towards outside area near the walking street, lots of local food at cheaper prices. overall will recommend for stay. sightseeing wise, Humen sights are not concentrated, hotel location is pretty central to head out to different places.

Great facilities, service, and food. The gym and the pool are excellent. The hotel is right nexto to a large, well-furnished shopping mall, and close to many local food outlets.

Really value for money . The room is too good for the price paid and it even include a very decent breakfast . About 500m from the nearest metro and 1 station away from the city centre/shopping centres

Hotel has good service, friendly staff, location attracts a lot of western guests so English is spoken by many of the staff. Rooms are very large, comfortable etc, air conditioning works well, and staff keep the room very clean. Gym is okay for a casual user or someone looking for a cardio workout and the pool is very large and clean. Located well for the metro etc, although quite far from a major high speed Trainlines that would be used for trains to other cities like Shenzhen, Kowloon, Guangzhou etc. I’d suggest booking a car in advance to help with that journey if you’re not a local/Chinese speaker. Close to a nice park for a walk, with viewing platform, stairs etc, would be good for a worker with an afternoon off who wants a bit of exercise and to see some things. Online it looked a bit marketed at families, but I didn’t notice much in the way of children staying, and certainly didn’t find the hotel noisy etc.

No doubt this was definitely a 4 Star hotel but without a major upcoming renovation and refurbishment, it is rather impossible to ensure quality service in the future. I am a frequent traveller to this town but this is my first time to stay in this hotel and I have the following findings in my 2 days visit in this hotel. First of all, upon check in, my request for a non smoking room was not observed but fortunately the room I got had no strong odor of cigarettes. So I didn't ask for a room change. However after I stayed in the room with a/c on full blast for 2 hours,, the room was still rather warm. Then I have no choice but to request a room change. Unfortunately the TV in the new room did not operate at all, so they changed the TV for me instead of changing the room again. All I can say is that those staff seemed to be responding fast and professionally. Nevertheless this exposed the lack of proper maintenance in a/c units and TV, hence caused inconvenience to the guests and unnecessary workload for the staff. Hope the management seriously looks into it. The breakfast was average without any stunning gourmets. I got 2 bottles of shampoo instead of 1 shower gel and 1 shampoo. The toilet was not working in full capacity and I needed to throw toilet paper into a trash bag to avoid clogging. The swimming pool was operated by a fitness center and it had no sunbathing features and you needed to bring your own towels from the room. So don't expect a resort type of relaxation in the swim. An ironic issue is the complementary fresh brewed coffee at the reception area. It caters only for black coffee drinkers as neither sugar nor cream is provided. Wonder if it is that much of a trouble to provide these basic condiments for coffee drinkers. Last but not least, it could be a much better stay if all of the above didn't happen.
