PPengguna TetamuStayed here for two nights while exploring Zhangjiajie. Fantastic little guesthouse, the room was very clean and modern, having a bathtub was a plus after walking 20,000+ steps each day! They have Japanese bidet toilets too which is relatively uncommon in China in my experience.
They also provide fantastic service recommending attractions and booking tickets for the sights with a discount. They reached out a few days before the stay to ask about my plans and helped me decide what to do and booked tickets for me at a discount. Each day they would message in the morning to remind me what I was booked for and what time to get there etc.
I arrived early on the first day and they were able to check me in straight away, but even if that isn't possible due to rooms being full, luggage storage is not an issue. The building doesn't have an elevator but they will move all your bags to your room for you (I tried to say I would be fine doing it but he refused to let me!). On the day I was leaving, I was able to just leave my bags in my room and when I came back from the park in the evening they had bought them downstairs for me, ready to go.
The only negative (and I know this is common in China so I'm not being too picky!) is that the bed was very firm. I didn't ask them for an extra blanket or something to add padding but I'm sure they would have provided one if I had asked!

Beyond the great spot, the hotel just has really good vibes- it felt incredibly welcoming and comfortable the moment we walked in.
What really stood out, though, was the service. The staff went above and beyond to help us figure out our itinerary around Zhangjiajie. Their local tips and hands-on assistance made navigating the area so much smoother and took a lot of stress off our shoulders. Highly recommend staying here.

The room is absolutely amazing. It is so clean and neat; truly one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Everything is beautifully designed and well-kept. The shower is wonderful, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable.
The location is also perfect. It is situated in Wulingyuan, right next to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park East Gate. You are at the entrance of the park in just a few minutes' walk.
However, what makes this hotel truly unique is the service. It is absolutely amazing! We stayed in touch with the hotel via WeChat, and nothing is too much to ask. They provide excellent service and can arrange everything for you, whether you need tickets for the park or a taxi. It doesn't matter what it is, they will take care of it. The lady at the reception even helped me order food directly to our room. Additionally, the laundry service is simply perfect, and a special mention goes to the breakfast, which was really good.
If you are going to Zhangjiajie, I highly recommend this hotel. It is the best hotel there is!

PPengguna TetamuUpon arrival staff were very kind and welcoming. I’ve never stayed in a place so secluded so this was absolutely a great experience and super wholesome.
Id recommend this place to couples and solo travellers, not necessarily for families unless you enjoy each others company x50 hehe. The property itself has a tea house, a restaurant and cute scenery places to explore and walk around.
Cute cats and dogs are constantly roaming too :) the mountain view is picturesque and honestly a breathtaking view when waking up to it. Staff was so accomodating on my one night stay. I texted on WeChat at 1am in the evening and Mr Hu was super responsive and even got tasks done for me like finding cigarettes and Coke Zero late at night.
The property was very clean for a cabin styled property, however I am used to more modern places - also please beware lots of mosquitoes during warm season so pack repellent!!
I highly recommend the property if you’re visiting the Avatar Mountains, it’s 9 minutes away to the East Gate Entrance (Tianzi Cableway), the staff can also help book your tours and tickets easily.

🛏️ 1. Exactly as pictured & Great value for money
- The room is fantastic, very new, and spotlessly clean. I booked a room with a bathtub and got the 4th floor. It looked exactly like the photos. The price in late March was amazing—less than $30/night (getting a bathtub at this price is super worth it!). The furniture looks brand new.
- The bathroom is great, with clearly separated wet and dry zones. It has a smart toilet with a heated seat and auto-flush!
- Amenities are quite complete. However, the hotel provides disposable towels. If you have a larger build, they might not cover you completely (I'm petite, so it didn't bother me), but the material is highly absorbent.
- Good to know: the building has an elevator, but you do have to carry your luggage up a few steps to reach the entrance, so it's not 100% wheelchair accessible. But once inside, you can comfortably use the elevator without carrying your bags up to the higher floors.
📍 2. Quiet location but easy to get around
- The hotel is slightly tucked away from the busy, bright areas, making it very quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep.
- Getting to the park is super easy. You can catch a Didi to the East Gate, and it’s very cheap—only about $0.70 per ride.
- As for food, even though it's not right next to convenience stores or restaurants, you can easily order food delivery. If you want to eat out, you can take a Didi or walk to the restaurant area. It's not far, less than 1 kilometer away.
👩🏻💼 3. Friendly owner & Excellent service
- The owner manages the reception herself and is extremely hospitable. She gives great advice on exploring the park. Whether you plan a 1-day or 2-day itinerary, she can recommend the perfect walking route. I planned a 2-day trip, so she suggested entering via the East Gate on the first day and the South Gate on the second day.
- She is always in a good mood and genuinely seems to love her work. Her bright energy makes talking to her an absolute joy 🤣 I was so impressed!
- Her English is okay for basic communication, but for convenience and speed, we used WeChat. The translation feature made it smooth, and we understood each other perfectly.
🎟️ 4. Better ticket discounts through the hotel
- I highly recommend this! If you need tickets, let the hotel book them for you—the prices are actually better than booking through popular travel apps.
- Whether it's the national park ticket (she also helps book your entry time slot for every day you plan to visit—though if you want to change the time, you need to ask her to update it for you), Baofeng Lake, or the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, she can get them at a cheaper price.
- Another perk is the unpredictable weather in Zhangjiajie. Letting her book day-by-day or close to the date means you don't have to risk booking too far in advance. I changed my plan easily because of fog and rain, and it was completely stress-free.
🚑 5. A personal note of gratitude (why I'm writing this review so long)
Late at night on March 25th, I had a medical emergency. I reached out to the owner, and she was incredibly helpful. She actually left the hotel counter to take me to the hospital and helped sort everything out 😭🙏 (I truly apologize to the other guests staying that night!). I was so touched and grateful, and didn't know how else to repay her, so I wanted to write this review to pass on the good word.
Summary: This stay was super comfortable and truly heartwarming. Not only because of how much she helped me, but the rooms and facilities are genuinely excellent. If you're looking for a place to stay, please keep this hotel in mind! ❤️

Penginapan saya di XiFuWan Resort Hotel benar-benar tidak dapat dilupakan—salah satu paparan layanan yang paling tulus dan ikhlas yang pernah saya temui dalam semua perjalanan saya. Sebuah hotel milik keluarga dibuka pada tahun 2024, ia membuatkan anda berasa seperti tetamu di rumah seseorang dan bukannya pelanggan komersial.
Sebagai pengembara solo dalam perjalanan spontan, saya mempunyai sedikit perancangan. Kakitangan hotel membantu mendapatkan tiket tarikan ke Taman Hutan Negara Zhangjiajie, Gunung Tianmen dan ZJJ Grand Canyon, malah berjaya mendapatkannya pada harga yang lebih rendah sedikit daripada tapak rasmi. 4. Lokasi, Kebolehcapaian & Sokongan Bahasa
Hotel ini terletak di kawasan yang hebat—damai, namun berdekatan dengan pelbagai kedai makan, kedai dan kemudahan. Kemudahan mempunyai segala-galanya dalam jarak berjalan kaki meningkatkan keseluruhan pengalaman.
Walaupun berada di kawasan pergunungan, hotel ini mempunyai lif terbina dalam, menjadikannya sangat mudah diakses—sesuatu yang tidak selalu biasa di bandar kecil.
Bagi pengembara yang berbahasa Inggeris, salah seorang pemiliknya ialah bekas guru bahasa Inggeris, yang menjadikan komunikasi asas lancar dan meyakinkan.
5. Perasaan Masyarakat
Hotel ini terletak di sebelah sekolah rendah tempatan, yang menambahkan sentuhan yang indah dan mengharukan kepada alam sekitar. Terdapat semangat kemasyarakatan dan kebaikan yang kuat, bukan sahaja di dalam hotel, tetapi di seluruh kawasan sekitar. Bagi mereka yang menghargai pengalaman tempatan yang asli, tempat ini terasa seperti rumah sendiri.
6. Fikiran Akhir
Walaupun XiFuWan Resort Hotel baru mula menerima pelancong asing beberapa bulan lalu, ia adalah permata tersembunyi mutlak yang patut mendapat pengiktirafan lebih dalam kalangan pelawat antarabangsa. Jika anda mempertimbangkan untuk menginap di Zhangjiajie, saya sepenuh hati mengesyorkan agar anda mencuba hotel ini. Penjagaan, layanan dan sentuhan peribadi benar-benar membezakannya.
Tidak syak lagi, saya akan tinggal di sini lagi apabila saya kembali ke ZJJ.

PPengguna TetamuBetween the beauty of the natural spaces of this hotel, the perfect amenities, fantastic restaurant and IMPECCABLE service from all staff members this hotel is a no brainer for anyone wanting a relaxing spot with incredible views right from your room that rival any view from within Zhangjiajie Park.
Truly, the service provided at this hotel included personalized aid when creating itineraries and excursion recommendations, free driver service to and from airport, train station, park and anywhere else, prompt and easy communication with fantastic and friendly hosts and much more.
I know this review seems too good to be real, but I promise, this was my experience with my fiancé in the hotel for three nights. We cannot recommend this place enough.

MMBW_The owner/male receptionist was friendly and super helpful with recommendations, information and discounted national park bookings (which include unlimited elevator/cable car rides when booked with him). Also went above and beyond by providing bus timetables, disposable bathtub covers, raincoats and even a live stream of the weather conditions at the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon! The room was clean, large and very spacious even with luggage. Housekeeping was provided everyday with bottled water and extra toilet paper. The ducted heating worked great, even in 0° weather. Location is a 20-25minute walk to the East Gate entrance of the national park and a 10 minute walk from the Wulingyuan bus station. Lots of local and Korean food options just across the road at good prices. Free guest laundry (3 washing machines) available with lots of room for drying on the rooftop. Would 100% recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

The room was spacious and cosy. The water heated Up really fast and the beds Had heating Pads in Case it got cold😍 the hairblower was better than Mine at Home. We could also use the washingmashine
The Location ist great and Service provided is top Tier.
The food recommendations we're good and very closeby. My favourite was 7 pots.
The Highlight was definitely the landlady, a sweet Lady who is doing her own tea. She booked Tickets for UeS so we didn't need to struggle with miniapps and entry Slots. Dont worry, you wont pay more than on Trip or Other Websites, she is very fair.
The breakfast was 15 Yuan and in the neighbourbuilding.
We will Miss this breakfast and especially the homemade wantan soup. There was a Lot of choice and everything was nice.
We will definitely come Back!

EEduarda Carvalho[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app.
The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one.
You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station.
[ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations.
The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends.
There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village.
For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate.
About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan.
Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.
