Hotel berhampiran Karlstor Gate, Munich

"We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, and the receptionist provided clear and helpful information during check-in. The entire check-in and check-out process was smooth. We booked a room for three adults, and the sofa bed had already been prepared before our arrival. Room is spacious and we can easily open our 28inch luggage on the floor. All the coffee and drinks on the table were complimentary, but the minibar was not, as explained by the staff during check-in. The shower area can become a little slippery after use, so avoid wearing the bedroom slippers into the bathroom, as you could potentially slip on the wet floor. The water pressure for shower head was strong, and the water temperature remained stable throughout our stay. The cleanliness of bath towel could also be improved. The only feedback I have is regarding the noise from the main street. Our room was located on the 6th floor and faced the tram line. We could clearly hear people talking downstairs, as well as the noise whenever a tram passed by. If you’re a light sleeper, this is something to keep in mind. The hotel’s location is very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants on the same street, and it’s only about a 150-metre walk to the S-Bahn/U-Bahn station. You can also access Munich Central Station through the underpass. While the location is excellent, the street can be quite busy, with many people gathering in the area. For security, the hotel requires a key card to enter the building after 10:00 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m. You’ll also need your room key to access the lifts."

"Knew it was small, but think small and subtract 10 square meters. Hong Kong small. Stupid small. Can’t fathom more than one person in this room as you can’t even get out of your own way. Coffee maker was cool. Ditto the pretzels in the morning but when they put the hardened and inedible day-olds out later it comes off more as an insult. 3pm check in is also something you’ll likely need to account for. Staff guy seemed personally offended that I showed up any earlier than I did, but the lady later on was friendly enough. Location is convenient to Marienplatz. All in all, not bad. But if I find myself traveling through Munich again I’ll no doubt be looking elsewhere."

"What a fabulous hotel to look at, very grand and magnificent but as soon as you open the room doors and look closely you will notice a difference in cleanliness and dust. Bedsheets are not changed everyday but every 3 days ! We also saw bugs running around on the floor too. Depends what your looking for if your happy with an average dusty unclean room this is your hotel with its grand exterior and wellness center."

"The staff was very professional and friendly. They did their best to provide me with all the help needed. Also, the location is so live and safe! You have food, music, halal food, Thai food, train station that is 5 mins walk right next to you. I would definitely recommend it for solo travelers or couples. It is a steal deal! Shoutout to the lovely staff who gave me a little birthday gift"

"The hotel is well located for the markets. The hotel breakfast is lovely and excelelnt value. The rooms however are not to the standard expected for the price. We had dried tissues on the bed linen and hairs in the bedding. We didn’t complain as we didn’t want to wait even longer for check in. Despite lots of guests leaving, we requested an early check in and was kept waiting after an extremely long flight for hours. For an Accor hotel and as a memeber, one of the worst experiences."

"The room and facilities were still excellent! However, one of the front desk staff was very unfriendly and treated me coldly and ignored. I always maintain politeness and greet the front desk staff if they are not busy. Have there been any other Asian guests who have behaved badly recently?"

"I am very disappointed with my stay. After checking in, we discovered that the bed was broken and had to request a room change. However, the new room had a malfunctioning air conditioner and a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. During breakfast, there were no seats available as the dining area was far too small. This experience was unacceptable."

"The hotel is rated as a 3-Star hotel and prices accordingly, though it leans closer to a 2-Star standard. The primary advantage of the hotel is its location, which is situated within a walking distance from the Central Train Station of Munich (Hauptbahnhof). Yet, the amenities of the hotel are not on par with the convenient location. The room was very small, to the degree that there was not enough space for the hotel to include a bathroom inside of the room. Instead, a toilet was installed near the entrance door to the room along with a sink and a hairdryer, and a shower unit was positioned in the middle of the room next to the bed. This was the first time that I came across such a configuration. Another less usual feature was the choice of curtain to cover up the window: The window of the room was covered by a nylon shower curtain rather than standard drapes. Even though this nylon shower curtain was successfully able to be used to block out the lights from the outside during the night, it was placed in an improvised way that made it hard to open it up or close it down. The building itself is rather old, and while the equipment appears to be maintained, it shows signs of age and may require renovation. These characteristics would have been more acceptable if the hotel clearly marketed itself as a 2-Star hotel or a budget option, but the 3-Star rating and associated price point seem unjustified given the room conditions and the availability of other hotels in the area with better amenities and cheaper prices."

"Great Location 👍🏻💪🏻 OK friendly female staff better male staff, in particular Mohanad the at customer service desk! 👍🏻 Was exceptionally welcoming, cheerful and gave very helpful hints and recommendations to our enquiries. Room was clean, comfortable, adequately lit and spacious. Amenities such as bath robes, slippers and fully loaded mini-fridge and with Nespresso machine and hotpot for free coffee and infusion beverages."
