Hotel berhampiran Kuil Hakone, Hakone

Best service ever. The ryokan provided transport to nearby attractions and also picked us up when we are done for the day. The food was amazing too :)

Walau bagaimanapun, apabila kami bertanya kepada kakitangan semasa makan malam, mereka dengan baik hati memenuhi permintaan kami, membolehkan kami mencipta kejutan. We were looking for onsen with private bath on the balcony and probably hit the sweet spot. Unfortunately we had only 1 night stay, but it was fantastic. Onsen is located at the top station Gora, where you can get from Odawara. That’s around 2 hours from Tokyo all together, around 3 hours from Kyoto. Last 2 sections of the way are going through a picturesque steep railway. Views are great! Be sure to rush to the front or back seats (doesn’t matter which) to secure a spot for nice photographs. Private bath is fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious with a touch of ryokan style (tatami etc). That’s a perfect place to sit and relax doesn’t matter it’s sunshine or pooring rain outside. The food was fantastic (according to my wife), however the options are limited if you’re not eating fish or sea products due to allergy or other reasons. For Karaku team - I would suggest adding a signature wagyu set for those who would like something else. Selection of wine and alcohol drinks is superb. Free snacks and coffee are available till 8 p.m. as well with a view terrace. For those who like some regular conbini stuff - Lawson is around 10 mins walk with Miyazaki style trains passing by👌🏻 All in all, we wish we had stayed at least 2 nights as there are lots of activities around.  Thanks to Karaku staff for a warm welcome and tailored experience!

The rooms blend modern Japanese comfort with thoughtful amenities. A standout perk: some rooms come with a massage chair, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring Hakone. The private open-air onsen in every room is a true luxury natural hot spring water on your own balcony, available anytime. The experience is relaxing, intimate, and effortless. Views are generally stunning, framing Hakone’s mountains and treelines. However, be aware: some rooms face the hotel’s large parking lot, where constant car noise and movement can ruin the scenery. Staff service is attentive, friendly, and pleasant.

This hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

During our recent stay at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel, we found the location to be very convenient, making it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings of Hakone. The room we stayed in was clean and well-maintained, which contributed positively to our overall comfort. While most of the staff were generally polite, we felt that there was room for improvement in terms of warmth and friendliness, particularly from the reception staff. We appreciated the exceptional welcome from the doorman, who was genuinely friendly and made a positive first impression. One area that needs attention is the breakfast. We noticed a lack of variety, as nearly 90% of the items remained the same throughout our stay. It would be great to see more changes in the menu to enhance the dining experience. We had a disappointing experience at the hotel's Japanese restaurant “Night Snacks (Pub)”. The lady server displayed a lack of warmth and friendliness and did not engage with us during our meals. Totally no smile on her face. It was disheartening to see her provide a more attentive service to the local Japanese customers, which left us feeling unwelcome.  She should be send for some customer services courses to improve her services especially for a hotel outlet. It’s a total disappointment for tourists to bring back such experience.  However, in stark contrast, the staff at the sashimi counter were outstanding. He greeted us with friendly smiles and made us feel acknowledged. The sashimi he prepared was exceptional and truly delicious, earning high praise. Overall, while there were some highlights during our stay, the negative experiences overshadowed the positives. I would rate our overall experience at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel as a 5/10. Given the factors mentioned, I would prefer to explore other hotel options during our next visit to Hakone.

跨年在這裏度過美好一夜，服務員幾乎不通人和外語，卻友好善於溝通，先訂了公共浴室，後來剛好有空位改了帶私湯的，滿意度提高很多！酒店位置離箱跟湯本站很近，出租車1000日元以內，後來打不到車我們帶着孩子步行十五分鐘到車站也很舒服🏳️🌈

I booked the suite for me + 2 of my friends. Honestly the room is huge and can easily accommodate 4/5 people. The room is clean and the public onsen is great, you can also ask the counter for the private onsen key, however there is only 1 private onsen room, so you will have to wait if someone else is using it. The breakfast included is amazing as well, they will also ask for your allergies or dietary restriction to accommodate for you if you have any. You can also select between the Western or Japanese Breakfast too. There is also the Mori No Yu + Yunessun, which is a public onsen & a water amusement park, that is free to visit nearby as well. You simply have to ask the counter to give you the free ticket QR to visit the place. Just need to remember that the towels provided at the facilities are for both, so you need to keep them and not return it early if you want to visit both facilities. The only negative I have is the location, it is located near the bus stop so if you have Hakone Free Pass, you will be able to reach there easily but it's still quite up in the mountain. There also isn't much nearby restaurant options as well, so you might have to consider their dinner menu at the Ryokan if you are planning to stay there for multiple days as well.

Stayed 2 nights half board. Cleanliness is great with common areas and room well kept. Staff are helpful and patient. Breakfast and dinner are both with a very good buffet spread. However the presentation and quality of food has much to improve. It reminds me of a workplace canteen if not a army cookhouse which spoiled our appetite. Seriously lacking the finesse of the Japanese dining culture experience. I would prefer a lesser quantity and spread of food but a better arrangement and presentation of the food as well as their quality. Example in point, many of the food were factory prepared and mass dump on to the buffet servicing trays. The menu items did not changed during the duration of my stay. So the dining experience was not very enjoyable. Hotel is supposed to have a resident cook, maybe the cook is on vacation. The hotel location is far from other restaurants which did not help either. Other than the dinning experience, stay was great.

This is one of the best places I stayed! Thank you very much! The hotel is located a little bit far from the train station and I think this is the only downside (and I didn't suffer from it). The price is expensive, but it is worth it because 2 meals are included, and they have great service. The staff is from Nepal so if someone comes here and expects Japanese, they may be disappointed by that. But in fact, this is way better as they don't have those strict Japanese traditions and are more flexible for guests. The atmosphere and hospitality make you feel like you are at home. There are 2 buildings and I was in the second building that has a big onsen. The names of guests are written on a board, so you get a feeling they were waiting for you. I was checking in a few minutes after check-in hours (18:06 or so), so I was nervous. Fortunately, I didn't have any problems with that. Also, I didn't expect any meal for dinner because of my previous bad experience with the Japanese staff. And then I was surprised when the owner said that the dinner time starts at 6 PM! So I had the meal after 30 minutes. This is really convenient for tourists because you can see Hakone and come to the hotel on the last train from Gora station (that's what I did) and then you will have a great dinner! After I finished the meal, they gave me a dessert! Overall, it felt like a regal banquet. I really like it! After that it was already dark, so I walked around the hotel and took pictures. It looks nice and comfortable. Then I needed a rest before the public bath. The owner said I can use onsen any time I want, it is 24 hours open. I didn't check that though I used it 10-11 PM. There are 2 pools with serum and some minerals from the volcano. The pool inside is hotter and more comfortable. The pool outside is almost body temperature. Actually the water from the spring is hotter, but the water temperature in the pool decreased. There were private baths, but I was tired and didn't go to check them. After you finish bathing, you can drink cool water from the cooler near the entrance. The breakfast that was included in my plan and the staff again pleased me with that. I like the variety and quality of the food. After checking-out I had a free transfer to the train station. So, I had a wonderful experience with this hotel, and it is one of the reasons I want to visit Hakone again. Thank you very much!!!
