Nice location, five minute walk from kanda station, lots and lots of places to eat, combinis and more. Room was nice and comfortable with everything you could need. There was a lot of amenities too with different tea selection every couple of days. There was a section with maps and recommendations for tourists, coin laundry machines, vending machines and free ice.
The staff was very nice and helpful, they can speak English so communication is not difficult.

remm Akihabara is in an excellent location, right next to major rail stations, Yodobashi, shopping malls, and plenty of restaurants. The room was large by Tokyo standards, with a nice-sized TV, great views of Akihabara and Tokyo Skytree, plus thoughtful touches like a massage chair and advanced bidet. However, cleanliness needs improvement. Linen quality, dust on doors, and an overall dated feel were noticeable. A lot of space was taken up by the bathroom despite having no bathtub, which felt like a missed opportunity. Overall, very convenient and comfortable, but upkeep could be better.

The location is great. I had a problem with the safe lockers in the room. They repaired really fast, but after a few times, it still didn't work. In the end, they change a new room just next to my original one which is helpful. There are two pillow types, really confortable. The amenity is complete, the pajamas is confortable. My room type is not facing the main road, so the noice was ok, not affecting my sleep. The bedhead light is dimmable, really helpful.

Room was decently sized for one that is around Ginza area. The location is great as well (and you can even get a glimpse of the imperial gardens) but most importantly, the service is amazing. The staff are not only professional but genuinely helpful, which is rare to get in Tokyo nowadays. Shoutout to the front desk who has done an amazing job making their guests feel welcomed and well taken care of.

Stayed for 3 nights and overall had a smooth and comfortable experience. The hotel is simple but very clean and well-maintained. Rooms are on the smaller side (typical for Tokyo), but everything was organized, spotless, and functional. The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well, and the bathroom had all the essentials.
Location is a big plus — only a few minutes’ walk from Kanda Station, making it very convenient to reach major areas like Akihabara, Tokyo Station, and Shibuya. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with nearby convenience stores and small restaurants.

Pros.
Staff is nice and helpful. Rooms are clean. Cleaning is good. Wifi worked perfectly. Location is perfect for any activity in the town. Amenity provides pyjamas, toothbrushes, body and hair wash gels.
Cons.
Small rooms. Barely have space on the floor to open luggage. For solo travellers it is ok, but for couples it might be hard to squeeze.
What wasn’t expected that windows are facing the wall of nearest building. So basically rooms don’t have windows. First I was very depressed, because you don’t have sunlight in the room, but then got used to it.

Keio Presso Inn Kanda gets a 3.5-star review. The location’s a winner, just a 5-minute walk from Kanda Station, so exploring Tokyo is super easy. The room was clean, bed was comfy, and Wi-Fi worked great. Staff were polite, though their English could be spotty.
The only real drawback was the bathroom—it felt a bit old and could use a refresh. Still, it’s a solid budget choice for a short trip, just don’t expect anything too fancy.

I’m writing a negative review about the service I received at this hotel, but I don’t want anyone to think it was the employees’ fault. My complaints about this hotel are policy based, not service based.
- no one wants this kiosk check in stuff at a hotel. It’s cold and cumbersome.
- 10am checkout at a hotel? That’s uncalled for. It’s not an airbnb where you have to clean kitchens and multiple levels. 11am is early, 12 noon at a hotel is normal.
- 2,200¥ for one hour late checkout, no exceptions.
- 3pm check in, no exceptions, despite the hotel clearly not being fully booked.
… just my opinion, maybe I’m old fashioned (45yrs old) and all this stuff is normal to people these days, but to me this stuff adds up. I would never stay at a Presso Inn again. Staff were lovely, they just don’t have the allowance from management/policy to treat guests with care that is common at most hotels.

PPengguna TetamuWe loved this hotel so much! The staff and the location was superb, 10/10 would recommend here. Incredibly helpful staff members who would go out of their way to help you and they even assisted us forward our luggage from Tokyo to Kyoto at ease. On top of that, the location was rly good as it was just right next to the station. The rooms were a tad bit small but it’s Tokyo after all. Really recommend.

The subway entrance of Higashi Ginza station is nearly right in front to the hotel front door so you can access to several tourist locations near grey line or deep pink line easily. I realized hotel in Tokyo do not have hotpublic bath but this hotel has one!! You can also check how crowded the bath is from your room through TV monitor. The hotel offers Happy Hour service where you can enjoy free flow of sake, wine, beverages and simple snacks like dried fruits and chips from 5pm to 9pm. Hoteliers are all very kind and helping which made overall experience at this hotel incredible!

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob).
Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn.
They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park.
However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay:
1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around.
2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

The hotel offers a welcome drink available anytime, and there is a separate onsen for men and women. In the evening at 6:00 PM, there is a free happy hour with drinks—perfect for alcohol lovers. My husband really loved it.
The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay here—the price is very reasonable too.

The rooms were super clean and staff was really friendly and helpful. 7/11 is right downstairs in the basement level so you didn’t have to leave the hotel which is a plus especially early morning when everything doesn’t open until 11. We would definitely stay where again when we return!

WWeiHooI have tried a few capsule hotels, this is by far the worst. My capsule was on the fifth floor, but the lockers are located on the fourth floor which is very inconvenient since the shower is on the eighth floor. There is a sitting area outside the capsule room which is an unsightly mess as shown in the pictures. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most is the door that supposed to shun off the noise from outside, made a loud noise when it closes. I wonder if they are not aware of it or no one complains to them. Imagine how many people comes in and out the entire night and the cranky noise disturbed my sleep. I hope the management will be made known of this default. I will never come back again.

Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking.
Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level.
Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch.
Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue.
In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

Also, the bedsheets are changed everyday, you get clean pyjama and towels everyday.
One thing that was annoying is the size of the lockes, it is very small and little bit inconvenient with the card sistem.
Also keep in mind that you have to be out of the hotel during the certain hours due to cleaning.
