PPengguna TetamuSanpeiso was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The ryokan beautifully preserves the atmosphere of traditional Japan while offering excellent comfort and hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and took great care of every detail throughout our stay.
The room was spacious, spotless, and overlooked a peaceful garden, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The onsen was exceptional — the hot spring water felt wonderful after a day of sightseeing, and the entire bathing area was quiet and beautifully maintained.
Both dinner and breakfast were served in traditional Japanese style and were outstanding. Every dish was carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and showcased seasonal ingredients. It felt like a true cultural experience rather than simply a meal.
What impressed us most was the authentic character of the ryokan. Unlike many modernized properties, Sanpeiso retains the charm and elegance of a classic Japanese inn. The combination of attentive service, excellent cuisine, serene surroundings, and high-quality hot springs made our stay unforgettable.
If you are looking for an authentic ryokan experience in Atami, I highly recommend Sanpeiso. We would gladly return on our next visit to Japan.

NNaoeyamatoProbably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Japan, close to Atami station, and every room in this hotel has the sea view, which is extremely beautiful when it’s sunny. The rooms are spacious and very very clean, the private onsen has private TV for you to relax in the hot bath. They also have public open air onsen on the top floor. Next time I probably will try the room with private onsen on the balcony. The hotel also offers free gym, free minibar and free lounge, love it. And the most importantly, the hotel staff are very helpful and polite. They provided helpful advices on transportation to different sightseeing places and booked free shuttle for my family to Atami station. Will 100% revisit next time I come to Atami.

PPengguna Tetamu酒店熱海站出來 到對面麥當勞等shuttle bus 40分鐘一輛 等車間隙可以去仲見通商業街遛遛 熱海著名布丁要排到拐彎 但味道還不錯 如果去來宮神社也可以到來宮吃不排隊 海景房有露天陽台很滿意 fuua的温泉每人憑房卡passport衹能去一次 public bath也很不錯 早餐晚餐不太行 看着排場大實際沒什麼可吃的 刺身也不太新鮮 國內49.9自助水平

PPengguna TetamuI suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can.
The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se.
The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa.
We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good.
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen.

GGalya_the_Pooh2Everything was great and sometimes far above our expectations. The building is quite new, very well designed, each room has it's own name and has panoramic view from the balcony. We loved everything about our stay: from meals (which were surprisingly good, despite some negative reviews!) to spacious room and relaxing onsen...
Separately I'd like to highlight the service: unfortunately I didn't ask the name of receptionist who hosted us, but her warm welcome, perfect English and readiness to help with everything was heartwarming! She definitely made that stay for us!
Although location is a bit far from train station and might not be convenient if your goal is to explore Atami and its surroundings, however for those travelling by car (like us) it is perfect: it is in very calm and tranquil area on the cliff, ideal for relax and rest. They also provide free and spacious parking, so nothing to complain at all.
Overall to me it was 11 out of 10.

Kami boleh menyerahkan butiran peribadi kami melalui telefon bimbit kami di mana-mana sahaja pada bila-bila masa sebelum tiba. Kemudian apabila tiba, menggunakan PIN yang dihantar ke e-mel kami, kami boleh memasuki pintu masuk dengan lancar. Di lobi, terdapat tablet, untuk setiap tetamu mengambil gambar mereka untuk pengesahan maklumat yang telah kami serahkan terlebih dahulu. Kemudian kami disambungkan ke pusat panggilan yang bertanya kepada kami beberapa soalan mudah kemudian ia selesai. Kami suka bahawa terdapat aliran percuma minuman panas & sejuk, alkohol dan bukan alkohol, coklat/gula-gula/kacang jepun percuma tersedia. Kami adalah kumpulan 7 orang, jadi kami menggunakan ruang bersama untuk makan kami. Bilik-bilik adalah besar untuk standard Jepun dengan sinki kecil, meja makan dilampirkan. Setiap tempahan disertakan dengan tempat letak kereta. Tempat letak kereta hanya 2-3 minit pemanduan dan kami hanya meletak kereta mengikut nombor bilik kami. Saya tidak boleh lebih gembira dengan penginapan saya di sini dan pasti akan mengesyorkan rakan-rakan untuk tinggal di sini.

PPengguna TetamuIt was a quaint, cozy hotel situated close to JR Atami Station. The hotel has very good food for both dinner and breakfast! The staff are friendly and even though they can't speak good English, they tried their best to communicate to the best of their knowledge and I really appreciate it! I especially enjoyed my time at the onsen on the rooftop, it has good facilities.
The only thing is the cleanliness of the room, since there is still water in the kettle from the previous guests, I didn't want to drink any water from the kettle because of it. They should replace it with a new kettle or clean it. Otherwise, the room is also very cozy, they give yukatas for guests to wear them around the hotel and they also offer free transport to JR Atami station. Otherwise, I would have struggled to get around since there is lack of public transportation at Atami!
I still have a very good time and enjoyed my time because of the friendly staff at the hotel, they are very helpful! 10/10 will come back again with my friends or family in the future.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed one night and really enjoyed the amenities, especially on a rainy day. The private onsen was wonderful, and the communal baths were fantastic. The breakfast and dinner options were excellent and well worth the money. Overall, the property offers a relaxing and comfortable experience.
There is some room for improvement. The television only offered Japanese channels, so adding a smart TV with streaming options would be a nice upgrade for international guests. We were also disappointed by the policy not allowing guests with tattoos to use the communal pools, which may be limiting for some travelers.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay with great amenities, food, and a memorable onsen experience.

SsiufungjehWe had a lovely stay at Hotel Oonoya. One of the perks was the free shuttle bus from Atami Station to the hotel. However, the map provided on the website seems outdated, which caused some initial confusion. Thankfully, the station staff was very helpful and directed us to the correct bus bay.
A highlight of our trip was catching the Atami fireworks from the hotel’s rooftop — the view was absolutely perfect and made for a memorable evening. The indoor hot spring was also a standout feature: it’s spacious, spotlessly clean, and very relaxing after a long day of travel.
Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Just be sure to double-check shuttle bus details upon arrival!

KKunduSouravThis is a traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel. All instructions are in English however, means there are foreigners regularly staying here. There is a open air onsen (hot bath) which is very pleasant. Must be reserved in advance. Drinks can be bought at 200 yen a pop. This is a fully unmanned Ryokan meaning it self check in and self checkout ! The rooms are very small (4 meter square) which barely fits a bed. Pictures on the travel sites about the rooms in this hotel are deceiving ! The location is sort of OK from Kinomiya station but it's quite far from Atami city center and Atami sun beach . We took at taxi which was 1200 yen. Kinomiya Jinja is 25 minutes by foot.
