I don't understand why this hotel has so many good reviews, but I want to write honestly, as someone who has worked in tourism for 20 years and seen a lot. The hotel definitely doesn't live up to its category. The biggest downsides are: there's no sea, the tide is very low every day, so you definitely can't swim here, and the knee-deep water that comes in in the afternoon smells like fish, and even while you're sitting at breakfast, there's a very unpleasant fish smell. But if you want, there's a shuttle that takes you to a good beach several times a day. The pool is dirty with green water; I was snorkeling, and there were tons of hair and sand at the bottom. The water doesn't circulate. In the morning, they pour two buckets of chlorine to disinfect the pool, and then it turns blue for a short while. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable, but tired. The tiles and plumbing need replacing. There were a lot of ants and cockroaches in the room. When we reported them, a worker came to exterminate them and treat them with ant repellent. On the plus side, the room has a large TV with YouTube access, a refrigerator, a tea station, a comfortable bed, and daily cleaning and towel changes. Peacocks roam the grounds (but that's not the main reason to come here). Breakfast is modest; there's a coffee machine with real coffee, pancakes, omelets like everywhere else, sausages and ham, and fruit. There were no yogurts or cheeses, and the juices were watered down. A lot of the equipment in the gym is broken. It depends on your preference, but for me, the sea and pool are key features in a place like this, so I wouldn't go back. There are plenty of cheaper and better options on the coast.

The hotel is old, like really old, it was built in 1989 and it’s very visible. The bedsheets, towels are so old and dirty like 2 star motel. Deluxe family room looks like rooms in 1989 also. Not modern at all. We upgraded to villa (had to pay a lot for this) and it’s good, a bit old but much better, with beach view and private territory. The territory of hotel is really beautiful and big, it’s like a park and beach is great. You can also take cayak to get to the small island nearby. The birds (hornbills) that live at the hotel are really beautiful and worth seeing! Everything closes really early - even game room - it’s just a room with board games and we wanted to play there and the staff told us that they were closing at 7.30 p.m! Why not open this room until 10 at least 😀 No evening activities at all. Everything gets quiet and dead at 7 p.m. There is beach cinema announcement at reception on Sundays, but when we arrived on Sunday, the staff told us that there will be no movies 🫣 Отель очень старый, просто древний, постельное белье и полотенца в ужасном состоянии. Семейный номер на горе - это просто ужас. Детский бассейн на горе ушатанный. Единственное достойное в этом отеле - виллы с видом на море. В них нормальная мебель, полотенца и особое меню на завтраках. Прекрасная территория и пляж. Птицы-носороги - это восторг. Обезьяны нас не беспокоили - но мы жили на вилле рядом с морем. Думаю, в лесных номерах их полно.. В 7 часов вечера в отеле все закрывается, полная тишина. Никаких развлечений. Пляж прекрасный, надеюсь, что отель займется реновацией номеров, приведением их в современный стиль.

Top notch service, celebrating our anniversary here makes it more special with the beautiful amenities of the hotel , warm welcoming staff, helpful and smiles all the time. This is a beautiful hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. The room facilities are complete, and I especially loved that the bathroom had a jacuzzi. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. For dinner, we had pizza at the hotel’s restaurant, and it was absolutely delicious. Staying here for our honeymoon was a wonderful experience and created many memorable moments for us. The hotel has beautiful swimming pools, especially the rooftop pool, which is particularly lovely in the evening. The hotel also has a wide beachfront that is perfect for taking a relaxing walk, whether in the morning or evening. There are also convenience stores and various shops right in front of the hotel, making it very convenient for guests. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed our honeymoon here. We will definitely come back and stay at this hotel again!

Our stay was truly wonderful overall. We came as a group of three friends and had a very enjoyable experience. However, there is one area that definitely needs improvement — the housekeeping department. We placed the “Please Clean Room” sign outside, but unfortunately nothing was properly refreshed except for the bed being neatly made. Housekeeping should pay more attention to cleaning details and room replenishment, as this part of the service was quite disappointing and should be improved significantly. On the other hand, the front office staff were excellent. They were always helpful, informative, and ready to assist whenever needed. We especially appreciated the short-haired female staff member we met again on the morning of our check-out — she was very friendly and left a lovely impression on us. Another staff member from the Assistant Front Office team was also very attentive and provided great support throughout our stay. The swimming pool was beautiful, and overall the hotel experience was very pleasant. Everything was great except for the housekeeping service, which we hope can be improved to match the excellent standard of the other departments.

We stayed at Stage Hotel for 15 days, and it was truly wonderful. A very cozy, clean, and comfortable hotel that makes you feel at home from the very first days. The rooms are spotless, the beds are very comfortable, and the snow-white bed linen is a real pleasure to sleep in. The air conditioning works perfectly — the temperature in the room was always comfortable. Special thanks to the friendly and welcoming staff. Everyone was kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely cared for. Honestly, I was almost in tears when it was time to leave. This is a place you want to come back to again and again. Stage Hotel is not just a hotel — it’s a feeling of comfort, calm, and warmth away from home. We will definitely return ❤️

This hotel is situated over the water with stilts, which I loved. Its unique appearance, with all its natural wood flooring and decks adds to its charm and feel of the fishing community. It’s a terrific place to stay for some great Thai Seafood! The VIP rooms are recommended as they are spacious and have a lovely outside space to relax over looking the water. They also have plenty of windows and natural lighting. These rooms are very comfortable. It has a restaurant attached to it, also over the water on stilts, which serves fantastic, fresh sea food dishes! My favorite meals was the barracuda with sweet and sour sauce and the calamari. They are good sized meals and their fresh juices are also perfect for the heat! Aoys farm bakery and cafe is also very close by. If you go to your left of the entrance to this hotel you will see the sign for her cafe and bakery. Aoy makes the most delicious cakes that are supplied to many hotels and businesses on the island! Highly recommend going to see her charming cafe and bakery! It’s a short walk and great for fantastic breakfasts and fresh juices or warm drinks, if you don’t want sea food at the resort, go there! The pool is lovely, as the water below the hotel is not clean and we did not want to swim in it. There are other beach locations for swimming. You can hire a fishing rod and do some DIY fishing, or pay for fishing half or full day trips, hire bikes, and kayaks. I was satisfied with this location and would certainly consider staying there again for a night or two!

The Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway is a solid 4-star resort located in Bai Lan Bay. As the name ”Hideaway” suggests, it is secluded, peaceful, and removed from the busy party areas. It is an excellent choice if you want privacy, relaxation, and great swimming pools, but it is not the best choice if you want to swim in the ocean directly from the hotel beach. Key Features • Location: It is located at Bai Lan Bay, which is south of the popular ”Lonely Beach.” It is very quiet. To find nightlife or a variety of street food, you will likely need to take a taxi or rent a motorbike to drive about 5-10 minutes to Lonely Beach or Kai Bae. • The Beach: Important Note: The hotel has a private beachfront, but it is quite rocky. It is beautiful for sunsets and relaxing on bean bags, but it is generally not suitable for swimming due to the rocks. • Pools: To make up for the rocky beach, the hotel has two excellent swimming pools. One is a large free-form pool by the ocean, which is very popular with guests. • Rooms: The resort offers a range of rooms from Standard to Private Pool Villas. The rooms are generally reviewed as spacious and modern with Thai influences. The Pool Villas are highly recommended for couples seeking privacy. Dining & Facilities • The Bay Restaurant: Serves International and Thai cuisine. Reviews generally praise the breakfast buffet for having a good variety. The restaurant offers ocean views. • Facilities: • Fitness Center & Spa: There is a well-equipped gym and a spa offering massages (often cited as a highlight by guests). • Entertainment: The hotel has a Karaoke room, a Kids' Club for families, and often hosts fire shows on the beach in the evenings.

Koh Chang Cliff Beach Resort I stayed in a room with a private pool. A little splurge on myself! It was so fun to have my own pool, to wake up in the morning and just jump into the water for a little cooling off. I could lay on the recliner and read to my heart’s content with no distractions, feet in the water. Morning breakfasts are fantastic and the beach view is amazing! Staff are friendly and helpful. What to know?: it’s the “Cliff Beach Resort”, which means your on a hill… which means climbing. It’SA steep walk from room to beach, but a great opportunity to get your blood flowing. Embrace it. Room for growth: the bedding smelled a bit sour. It’s wet here, so making sure things dry properly is a challenge. My greatest complaint about the room is that there was a ladder propped up against the backside of the pool wall, meaning someone could climb it right into my private room. A little sketch. The ladder is for maintenance, so I just pushed it off the wall. The pool could use a bit of chlorine as algae was present on the pool walls, but honestly, I’d rather have the non-chemical water. The biggest negative which the hotel has no control over is the nighttime noise. There’s a bar across the street which pumps loud music (starting at 10pm and going til like 4am). The hotel actually gives you earplugs when you check in. So lame. There’s two pools. One up on top of the cliff with excellent views. One down by the ocean. Overall, a pleasant stay.
