Hotel berhampiran Pantai Khlong Prao, Koh Chang

I don't understand why this hotel has so many good reviews, but I want to write honestly, as someone who has worked in tourism for 20 years and seen a lot. The hotel definitely doesn't live up to its category. The biggest downsides are: there's no sea, the tide is very low every day, so you definitely can't swim here, and the knee-deep water that comes in in the afternoon smells like fish, and even while you're sitting at breakfast, there's a very unpleasant fish smell. But if you want, there's a shuttle that takes you to a good beach several times a day. The pool is dirty with green water; I was snorkeling, and there were tons of hair and sand at the bottom. The water doesn't circulate. In the morning, they pour two buckets of chlorine to disinfect the pool, and then it turns blue for a short while. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable, but tired. The tiles and plumbing need replacing. There were a lot of ants and cockroaches in the room. When we reported them, a worker came to exterminate them and treat them with ant repellent. On the plus side, the room has a large TV with YouTube access, a refrigerator, a tea station, a comfortable bed, and daily cleaning and towel changes. Peacocks roam the grounds (but that's not the main reason to come here). Breakfast is modest; there's a coffee machine with real coffee, pancakes, omelets like everywhere else, sausages and ham, and fruit. There were no yogurts or cheeses, and the juices were watered down. A lot of the equipment in the gym is broken. It depends on your preference, but for me, the sea and pool are key features in a place like this, so I wouldn't go back. There are plenty of cheaper and better options on the coast.

We had an amazing stay at Sylvan Koh Chang and truly enjoyed every moment. The resort is beautiful and full of little surprises. Every corner is stunning, surrounded by nature and beautiful frangipani flowers. The scent of fresh frangipani around the swimming pool was absolutely wonderful and made the whole stay feel even more special. The staff were incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive. They kindly prepared a lovely towel birthday cake for my partner with fresh frangipani flowers, which was such a sweet and memorable surprise. During breakfast, we even saw a huge bird nearby, which was a unique and memorable experience. One of our most unforgettable moments was walking back along the beach at night after dinner. The sky was full of stars, and we even saw a shooting star. It felt magical and romantic. Overall, it was a wonderful stay filled with beautiful memories. We would definitely love to come back again and highly recommend this resort to couples looking for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

Top notch service, celebrating our anniversary here makes it more special with the beautiful amenities of the hotel , warm welcoming staff, helpful and smiles all the time. Our stay was truly wonderful overall. We came as a group of three friends and had a very enjoyable experience. However, there is one area that definitely needs improvement — the housekeeping department. We placed the “Please Clean Room” sign outside, but unfortunately nothing was properly refreshed except for the bed being neatly made. Housekeeping should pay more attention to cleaning details and room replenishment, as this part of the service was quite disappointing and should be improved significantly. On the other hand, the front office staff were excellent. They were always helpful, informative, and ready to assist whenever needed. We especially appreciated the short-haired female staff member we met again on the morning of our check-out — she was very friendly and left a lovely impression on us. Another staff member from the Assistant Front Office team was also very attentive and provided great support throughout our stay. The swimming pool was beautiful, and overall the hotel experience was very pleasant. Everything was great except for the housekeeping service, which we hope can be improved to match the excellent standard of the other departments.

This hotel is situated over the water with stilts, which I loved. Its unique appearance, with all its natural wood flooring and decks adds to its charm and feel of the fishing community. It’s a terrific place to stay for some great Thai Seafood! The VIP rooms are recommended as they are spacious and have a lovely outside space to relax over looking the water. They also have plenty of windows and natural lighting. These rooms are very comfortable. It has a restaurant attached to it, also over the water on stilts, which serves fantastic, fresh sea food dishes! My favorite meals was the barracuda with sweet and sour sauce and the calamari. They are good sized meals and their fresh juices are also perfect for the heat! Aoys farm bakery and cafe is also very close by. If you go to your left of the entrance to this hotel you will see the sign for her cafe and bakery. Aoy makes the most delicious cakes that are supplied to many hotels and businesses on the island! Highly recommend going to see her charming cafe and bakery! It’s a short walk and great for fantastic breakfasts and fresh juices or warm drinks, if you don’t want sea food at the resort, go there! The pool is lovely, as the water below the hotel is not clean and we did not want to swim in it. There are other beach locations for swimming. You can hire a fishing rod and do some DIY fishing, or pay for fishing half or full day trips, hire bikes, and kayaks. I was satisfied with this location and would certainly consider staying there again for a night or two!

The Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway is a solid 4-star resort located in Bai Lan Bay. As the name ”Hideaway” suggests, it is secluded, peaceful, and removed from the busy party areas. It is an excellent choice if you want privacy, relaxation, and great swimming pools, but it is not the best choice if you want to swim in the ocean directly from the hotel beach. Key Features • Location: It is located at Bai Lan Bay, which is south of the popular ”Lonely Beach.” It is very quiet. To find nightlife or a variety of street food, you will likely need to take a taxi or rent a motorbike to drive about 5-10 minutes to Lonely Beach or Kai Bae. • The Beach: Important Note: The hotel has a private beachfront, but it is quite rocky. It is beautiful for sunsets and relaxing on bean bags, but it is generally not suitable for swimming due to the rocks. • Pools: To make up for the rocky beach, the hotel has two excellent swimming pools. One is a large free-form pool by the ocean, which is very popular with guests. • Rooms: The resort offers a range of rooms from Standard to Private Pool Villas. The rooms are generally reviewed as spacious and modern with Thai influences. The Pool Villas are highly recommended for couples seeking privacy. Dining & Facilities • The Bay Restaurant: Serves International and Thai cuisine. Reviews generally praise the breakfast buffet for having a good variety. The restaurant offers ocean views. • Facilities: • Fitness Center & Spa: There is a well-equipped gym and a spa offering massages (often cited as a highlight by guests). • Entertainment: The hotel has a Karaoke room, a Kids' Club for families, and often hosts fire shows on the beach in the evenings.

Territory: The hotel has a very convenient location right on the beachfront. The territory is lush and green, with plenty of trees providing natural shade, which is perfect for relaxing outside. Facilities: One of the main highlights is the swimming pool. It’s perfectly situated and offers some of the best views on the island. Staff: The staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request. They truly made our stay pleasant. Breakfast: The breakfasts were good, tasty, and offered a nice variety to start the day. Cleanliness: Our room was very clean. The bed linens were fresh, and the bathroom was spotless, which we really appreciated. Tips: Tropical Mosquitoes: The only downside was the mosquitoes (common for such a green area). Our Tip: We bought mosquito coils at the local 7-Eleven, and they worked perfectly! We used them on the terrace and had no more issues. I highly recommend picking some up as soon as you arrive. Summary: A wonderful place for a relaxing stay. We would definitely come back!

Amazing staff who did all they could to correct any issues. Nice clean room with fridge and kettle etc. Housekeeping were fantastic. Great beachfront location, nice pool, nice restaurant and comfort bed in the heart of town but not loud at night at all, ideal for those wanting to be in town but not party too hard
