"Very poor experience. No staff, rooms worn out, breakfast due to layout of food, coffee machine became something you best not bother with. Drinks prices at the bar dependant on who served you. Evening dinner, one choice and this menu not available until 5.30pm . We booked here with friends for a 3 day event and will be back in Laon next year but definitely not this hotel."

"If you come to Laon, know that there is a hotel so horrible that I don't even want to use it as a prison. • The air conditioning is too loud. • A really hard mattress, the floor would be better. • A dripping noise coming from the room on the other side... • Lack of washing products. • A view that will make you argue if you come as a couple... • Only one socket... • A smell of cold tobacco that smells in the room. How can a hotel like this still exist? Really go elsewhere. Positive point: the copious breakfast at the Kyriad Express and the very professional welcome from the employees."

"Stayed for 1 night on the way to Burgundy. It is an old hotel and our bedroom on the first floor was quite large, well appointed. Unfortunately the mattress had seen better days and, for someone with back issues needing a firm bed, it was a bit like sleeping on a hillside. We were able to park in the small garage which takes only 4 cars but you have to be very careful entering and leaving. We had a buffet breakfast which was plentiful , good choice and lovely fresh bread and pastries. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. There are several eating places in the town within a reasonable walking distance. Despite the bed issue we would be happy to stay here again."

"Well located next to the train station. Check in time a little weird at 4pm but is fine if you arrive late in town. The attractions are all on top of the hill about 20 mins walk from the hotel. The staffs are very friendly. Rooms are well allocated and size is alright."

"I pre-booked a 3 night stay and paid in full online, including breakfast , and checked in online prior to arrival, only to be told by the guy on the desk that I had to pay extra for breakfast! I was kept waiting at the desk for 20 minutes whilst the problem was resolved, (I was not at all happy), the "manager" refused to give me his name, not a very nice welcome. The room was OK, but some noise from the service yard when they were moving the bins around at 5.30am.! Also, for some reason the room key appears to expire every day, so I had to go back to reception every day to get it re-validated, despite having paid for a 3 day stay.? Breakfast was very average, also aircon in room was continually pumping out hot air, even on lowest setting, so I turned it off completely. I stay in plenty of hotels in France, but I won't be going back to this one."

"A delightfully charming and old fashioned hotel, in the most charming, historic town. We spent the night there en route for the Channel Tunnel - very comfortable beds with well equipped bathrooms, and a delicious breakfast - and a very welcoming host (plus parking). Laon is well worth exploring (the cathedral is staggering) - we only had 1.5 hours in the morning before we had to set off for our train, but could have spent half a day-a whole day there. We will return."
