"We arrived late in the evening for the Ijen volcano hike. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the trail entrance. The grounds are large and well-maintained, and the room has everything you need. I deducted one star for the nasi goreng at breakfast and the insufficient hot water in the shower. The staff is very attentive and friendly."

"Finding a small cottage with such a beautiful view is the perfect way to take a break from all the noise of the city and refresh your mind. I stayed in a deluxe room with a special balcony overlooking a valley planted with rice fields – what a sight to wake up to! The hotel's swimming pool offers a stunning view, and the surrounding village is a perfect spot for cycling adventures. You'll absolutely love this place if you're after somewhere quiet, because there are hardly any distractions. I can't wait to get back here one day!"

"Beautiful location in the hills surrounded by rice paddies, near a village. Beds really comfortable, including the extra bed they put up as we were a group of 5. We were skeptical about the food as the printed menus were tatty, but the actual food was really good. Beef rendang, mixed vegetables and pan fried fish excellent. They could do with improving presentation of the menu and including some vegan/ vegetarian options. However when we asked they understood what we were asking for and came up with suitable dishes for the vegans. We did a lovely 3 hr walk through fields, pine forrest, villages which looped back to hotel via the swimming pool springs. Whilst its true superficially some things appear slightly dated everything works and too frequent refurbishment for tourists def not environmentally friendly. And as usual staff were all lovely and helpful."

"Just visited this hotel. On a positive note, excellent location and amazing infinity pool. Unfortunately though the service was the worst we have experienced throughout our tour of Java. Food - mediocre, main courses served whilst still eating starters. Main course plates not cleared so did not get offered desert and no other visitors in restaurant. No staff in restaurant - had to go looking for them! No wine list, had 2 red wines but only 2 bottles in storage. Also only had 4 bottles local lager. No fridge in room and no one ever asked us if everything was OK, either with our stay or meals. Such a shame as has great potential if standards could be improved."

"Ijen Volcano Accommodation strongly recommends kunang kunang tent resort. Dreaming back to the tropical rainforest! Live right above the creek, inside the tropical rainforest! The food is also delicious. It is the best chicken fried rice I have eaten since coming to Indonesia. It is so delicious! The room is also relatively new, and the smell of essential oils in the room makes me feel at ease. I have stayed in many hotels with prices many times higher than this one, but none of them are this good!"

"There are wild animals in the room, including mosquitoes and bugs, and a gecko. We were supposed to go to Ijen Volcano in the early morning. The gecko kept screaming and it was so noisy that we couldn't sleep well. The service was great and they packed breakfast for us."

"The hotel is secluded and very idyllic in the mountains. The grounds are exceptionally beautiful. It's about 29 km from Mount Ijen, which is unfortunately currently closed. The service is very poor, and the restaurant is only moderately enjoyable. The rooms don't have Wi-Fi. Therefore, overall, it's only satisfactory, although it deserves more."
