Hotel Mountain view di Wanning

We had a wonderful two day stay. There weren’t many guests around on the dates we stayed, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The hotel offered a shuttle golf buggy to the beach and nearby places which was a bonus. It rained heavily while we at the beach so staff picked us up in a car. I have already recommended the hotel to a friend! Staff: Friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast: Fresh and healthy, served in the outside coffee/bar summer house. Afternoon Tea: Tasty fruit, fresh juice, local biscuits. Hotel surroundings: The garden is planted thoughtfully and kept tidy. It was nice to have the open covered seating area to rest and read a book. The furniture is good quality and comfy. Swimming pool is a nice size and clean apart from some surface bugs. (it’s not easy to keep all flies/insects out off the pool in a hot place) Dog friendly hotel, the owner’s puppy was super cute! Room: Super view over the mountains. Large balcony. Furniture, towels, toiletries and bedding all high quality. Decor tasteful and modern. Everything felt reasonably new and in good repair. Surrounding area: Quiet village, plenty of places to eat or get coffee. Only cons: Coffee is not included as standard with the breakfast. When it rains the cushions on the balcony’s outside furniture oget wet so you can’t sit on them for some time. I personally didn’t like that you could see into the ground floor rooms from the outside seating and sunbathing areas.

De Vivre Daizhai Hotel is more than just a hotel…it is an experience. From the moment you arrive you’ll be treated like royalty and made to feel like part of the family. Nothing is too much effort for Elva and her friendly team.  The beautiful boutique hotel is exquisitely designed down to the last detail, and for keen photographers it’s a dream come true. The surroundings are stunning, and the hotel provides a pocket of peace while still being conveniently located and close  enough to the beach.  This is by far my favourite place I’ve stayed in a long time on all of my travels, and I would come back next weekend if I could! Highly recommended for a weekend, or week, in Wanning!

This is a very nice homestay I stayed in Hainan Island, China, with a strong artistic atmosphere and clean environment. I come from Russia, a very cold place. Easy surfing and not far from the sea. Great stay experience. I will visit Hainan Island every year, see you next year. Thank the owner of the homestay for taking care of me.

I only spent 5 days at Roots, but I left the place with so many memories that it felt like much longer. The owners, Shuiku and XiaoXiao, are incredibly nice and welcoming: they helped me find a great surf coach, indicated where to get good food and where to surf the best waves (we even surfed together a few times!). They really made sure that everyone at the hostel had a good time: for Chinese New Year, we had a home cooked Chinese New Year dinner for friends and guests. It was lovely. I only speak a tiny bit of Chinese, but this was no problem, as both the owners and many of the guests spoke English. Finally, apart from the nice people, the hostel itself is very comfortable to stay at: it’s clean, in a calm location surrounded by rice fields and cute coffee shops, and only a 5-10min scooter ride to the beach. I hope I can make it back to Roots one day, I already miss it!

The best homestay we had in China. A really beautiful place. But the real beauty lies in the people who work there. Incredibly friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home. We also met the owner who is also really friendly and helpful. He took us to a market and to a beach where fishermen pull their nets in the evening. He also invited us to dinner in the evening and we had a great evening with him. The house manager is also a great guy. He took us to the Swallow Cave and helped us get a transport to Sanya when our train was cancelled during a typhoon. We also participated in a number of activities in the afternoon with the wonderful guest service manager. A big thank you to all the warm-hearted people of this hotel, you made our stay really special!

The Alika hôtel is so serene, perfect for pure relaxation, and Sally had a very good taste for decoration. It blends so nicely with the natural vibe, every corner’s calm. Shoutout to Stephen, our guest assistant, who was insanely attentive and made our trip so smooth. Channy’s morning yoga class was so relaxing too – the best way to start the day in this peaceful setting! Breakfast was top quality, fresh and tasty, and the whole vibe’s just exactly what you need for a chill trip with friends. 10/10 recommend for anyone wanting a nature-focused, relaxing escape and plenty of activities.

The location is really near the shenzhou train station, hence good for a short stay at Wanning. There's a scenic swimming pool available with nice view! Staff are friendly and service are good. They served us fruit platter upon arrival and milk at night before bed night.

Perfect apartment for a stay close to surfing spots, bars and not too far from a little village. We recommend renting an E-Bike for your stay (50¥ / day). Explore the village and the road going to the mountain. Go to the best surfing spot in China and rent a board to surf with locals or just enjoy a cup of coffee with a view ! The location is perfect, the apartment is clean and includes towels, bedsheets, cleaned every day.

The bunk bed was rock hard, and the thin “mattress” was filthy. The showers were falling apart, but there are also newer showers in the bathroom stalls which were usable. Wifi was incredibly slow, I could not load a single web page on my laptop. This is an absolutely gorgeous area, and there are a ton of cute cats and a cute golden retriever, which were a huge plus. The communal meals were also delicious and cheap. If you can put up with the hard beds and lack of cleanliness, and don’t need WiFi, this would be a great place for you. But I needed WiFi so I left this place after 2 nights.

The vibe at Surfers Garden is chill and cool but a little bit too much. My room had no towels, no toilet paper. Cabinet to store my things in the shared room couldn’t lock. The room itself can’t lock from the outside as well and too often when I was looking for someone at the reception there were no one … When you finally catch someone to give you a towel, be aware that it’s a disposable towel. So better bring your own. In the morning, don’t hope to get a coffee at their bar before 9am or 10am. The whole place looks a bit messy and the reception space looks unfinished. Staff is friendly tho. The guesthouse is surrounded by many little shops and local restaurants. You can reach the Ri Yue Wan beach where you will find bar/coffee, clubs, shops, surfing clubs etc. in 15 min walking or 5min by e-bike. Ri Yue Wan beach area is definitely the place to be to enjoy a good “beach/surfer” vibe sipping a cocktail in front of the beach. At night, this place turn into a music festival area where everyone display live show music and DJ and expect fireworks on the beach almost every 15min. If you are looking for surfing club in this area, I would recommend to check Shaka surf club. Good service, good price, and so far the most professional to me at Ri Yue Wan.
