PPengguna TetamuI booked a room with a window. I spent more than friends to have a better room. However their cheap room had a window but mine did not. Instead it had a glass wall that looked into the hallway. When I first arrived the room door was open. They solved that problem and my friends and I went out to eat. When we returned (3 hours after checking in) none of our room keys worked. I had to go downstairs to reception twice to get it working. Then at breakfast a man started smoking in the breakfast area and no one stopped him. I would pass on this hotel the next time I’m in Xining.

SSSK_goaroundPros: The hotel’s location is excellent for business travelers, with a large supermarket just 1.1 km away (within walking distance). The bed is comfortable, ensuring a good sleep throughout my 4-night stay. The facilities are well-maintained and fully functional, even though the style is a bit old-fashioned. The front desk staff are very helpful — although their English is limited, they made great efforts to assist using a translation app. Thanks to their enthusiasm, I was able to book trips to Ta’er Temple and Qilian Temple. I was really impressed by their willingness to help. breakfast and coffee are delicious .I love it.
Cons: Although it’s supposed to be a non-smoking floor, it’s hard to avoid the smell of cigarette smoke.

PPengguna TetamuI chose Park Plaza as it was convenient to both the train station and airport.
The price was also excellent value for money.
My train from Lhasa arrived at 6.30am and I caught a taxi the short distance to Park Plaza without issue.
I checked in around 7am and was shown my room.
It was beautiful, very spacious with a large window,
and it also had a freestanding bath.
Unfortunately I could smell cigarette smoke, which is not uncommon in Chinese hotels.
I asked for a different room and was immediately shown one .
This room was identical but the bed covers were a children's design and there were some toys and teepee in one corner . I simply folded the bright yellow covers down and had a lovely tasteful decor again.
The bed was extremely comfy and the room was very quiet.
The buffet was beyond excellent and the head chef and his small team were very friendly and attentive.
Clearly they were very proud of their fabulous buffet and presentation....as they should be. It was my best in China..
I found a lovely walking trail behind the hotel beside the river, 5 mins away.
The area in general was nice to wander around, very different from my stay in the centre of city when on my way to Tibet.
I will most definitely choose Park Plaza when I return to Xining.

TThe Wanderer Above The CloudFirst time in Xining and didn’t know what to expect. Staff were warm and pleasant.
Room was really toasty and I wished the aircon could be switched on at night as the room became really stuffy and hot, especially with thick duvets.
Breakfast was good.

TTravel CatWe liked this hotel and the room was comfortable and it is about a 10 minute walk to the train station. The gym was located on the top floor. Our recommendation is it could be cleaner, especially putting the equipment on shelves instead of lying around on the ground. There were many places to eat around the hotel within a 10 minute walk and the market for the caterpillar fungus was right behind the hotel. This was very interesting.

PPengguna TetamuA welcome sight not far from where the Airport bus drops. 12 minutes walk to the main railway station - if you like steep stairs on the underpass. Convenient walk to Dogguan Mosque site, local restaurants and City Mall.
Grandiose lobby (where you check in) is on the 21st floor. Many facilities on different floors, but most seemed shuttered and unavailable.
Hallway and room were in excellent condition. Nice room layout and view of the city. However, shower room light would not turn off at night. Study desk was a bit wobbly.
Muslim Specialty restaurant has a high end menu but the sofas are not suited for dining, I think. Hotel's free vegetarian breakfast buffet was very tasty.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaHotelnya ber***a klasik, tua namun tetap oke. Dengan harga murah namun fasilitas bersih. Kamarnya luas, bersih dan walaupun klasik tetap oke. Dapat fasilitas gratis sarapan juga cukup untuk energi di pagi hari.
Mungkin dulunya hotel ini adalah hotel besar dan megah, karena dari fasilitas hotelnya, kalau di negara lain ini sudah bintang 4. Harapannya semoga makin banyak wisatawan dan pengunjung yang menginap di hotel ini, karena potensinya bagus dan lokasi oke juga, apalagi dengan kebersihan kamarnya keren. Sukses selalu.
