"A very typical commercial, unmanned apartment. The rooms are large, close to the Moser River, and have all the necessary cooking and drying facilities, making it suitable for families. The balcony room is highly recommended! Two major issues: 1. It's very difficult to find because there are almost no street signs. We asked many people within 50 meters of the hotel, but no one knew where it was, even though it's actually very close to the Holiday Inn next door. 2. It's unattended. The doors automatically lock after 11 PM, so there's no way to store luggage. It's only suitable for overnight stays or two-night stays."

"TERRIBLE!!! We had booked online and received an email that everything was fine. Apparently the reception closes at 9am, this was not mentioned. Not even in the confirmation email. We were in such a hurry that we finally arrived at 10:14pm. The woman did not answer at first (owner) but after a while I got an answer. She reported that all her guests were present. NOT SO! Eventually she admitted that we had a booking but she did not think we still needed help, our question where are we sleeping then? Her words literally: NOT MY PROBLEM. Very unfriendly, no hospitality and no information. I travel a lot, but I have never experienced this. Too crazy for words. After a long drive of 4 hours you were on the street at 10:15pm in a place where you do not know anything or anyone. REAL HORROR!!! Eventually we went looking and we found the Park Plaza Hotel, they helped us immediately and found it terrible how it went. We got a great room and top service! Don't go to Astoria, choose Plaza instead and you'll save yourself a sleepless night outside!"

"Hotel without an elevator, room not soundproofed, avoid French speakers as our language is unknown, no French TV channels, reception managed solely online! It's 7:30 am and the room next door has been blasting music since 5:30 am!! The only positive thing, thankfully, was a more than decent breakfast and pleasant staff. In short, I won't be staying at this hotel again!!"

"we stayed above the sun terrace looking down at the bier garten. It is a nice treed setting by a creek and below vineyards. a bus stop outside takes you right to the Roman gate in old town Trier. bus 81 or bus 6 on weekdays. the reception helpful with bus info, but note return not to the same stop but dismount at oliweg entrance and follow short path to back of hotel. otherwise u r in for a long ride. For return take stop 5 near the gate and info centre. This resort has everything with a pleasant bier garten, great breakfasts, sports lounge and cozy nooks if eating inside and the garten has a retractable roof. Had the pool to myself and the streamside path is pleasant and crossing over the road you can access vineyard walkways with great views. I wasn't in love with my bed, but my spouse had no problem...that's my only complaint. There is a big staff and they are personable, pleasant and helpful. Definitely hard-working. I traded in a day's cleaning for a brew from their haus and i liked the dunkel the best. there are cushions and comforters everywhere, everything is thought of and looked after, there are even e-bike chargers in the parking lot."

"The room itself was OK , however in the bathroom there was just one small piece of soap and a box of Klennex. No other amenities, such as shower cap, bathroom slipper, comb, shoe horn.. the thing one expects usually from a 4 star Hotel at corresponding prices! The TV had with the exception of an insignificant French station only German channels . It showed CNN etc. but only with the text "no picture - low image" - as a sign of German arrogance?? This when all sorts of disturbing things happen all over the world - with German TV limiting its news during the day and early evening hours to very short Tagesshows mostly talking about Germany only. I think I would have had better in room amenities and TV in a holiday Inn rather than in this self proclaimed 4 star Hotel."
