"Stayed here during a ski trip to Yuzawa in March and had a great experience overall. The location was convenient, around a 6–7 minute walk from the JR station west exit. We booked the package with breakfast and dinner included, and really enjoyed the meals, the menu was different every night which was a nice touch. The room was also very spacious for 2 people. The staff were friendly and helpful. The private onsen in the room was a bit smaller than expected, but the private onsens on the 6th floor were very nice and relaxing. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would stay again for another ski trip :)"

"We had an amazing time at NASPA New Otani — this hotel is a fantastic choice if you’re visiting Yuzawa, especially for a winter getaway! The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing. The location is ideal for winter sports lovers with ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes and easy shuttle service to Echigo-Yuzawa Station, which made getting around a breeze even in snowy weather. The onsen and bathing facilities were relaxing and just what we needed after spending time outdoors. The buffet breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety and were really enjoyable, with something for everyone. While the hotel is set a little away from town, the free shuttle made it convenient to explore the area if we wanted. Overall, it felt like a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and superb service — highly recommended!"

"We stayed at this hotel after the Nagaoka firework. The staffs are accommodating and friendly. They let me change into my Yukata in the hotel lobby restroom before I headed to Nagaoka"

"I’m giving my honest opinion. This is my first unsatisfied review for a hotel room. I was very disappointed by the room for the price I paid. I paid more for this room than what I paid for luxury upscaled room near Tokyo Disney. The photos online were very deceiving. When I entered my room, it was gross, i cringed, and my toes curled. I didn’t want to put my belongings down. The carpet was old and disgusting. The pull out couch bed was gross. There were stains on the couch back rest and the mattress. The sheet for the mattress was too small it didn’t cover the stained mattress. The beds were hard and didn’t feel clean. The shower curtain had a bad odor. The room was very dated. Since this hotel is pretty secluded and other hotels were booked we had to make do. I’m glad we only stayed one night. On a better note, the staff were very friendly and service was great. Location for skiing was amazing, and the free shuttle bus was fabulous. Naeba Prince Hotel really need to do better with their rooms. I was looking forward to bringing my entire family of 14 to stay a few nights next year, but after seeing the rooms, I will not stay here again unless they renovate their rooms which are in dire need of upgrades."

"The place is very close to Gala Yuzawa station around 8mins walk. The place is great with attentive staff. There is an available shuttle service where you can call the hotel to fetch you. Downside is that there is no available restaurants nearby so you have to go to Echigo Yuzawa. You can avail the shuttle service. Would have been great if there’s supplementary breakfast. There’s a 300yen fee for bath."

"The hotel is very clean and the room is spacious. The only two things that I dislike is the separate toilet and bath which is small plus no hook to hang clothes and need to climb a slope everytime you go in/out of the hotel."

"Saya pergi ke hotel ini kerana reputasinya sebagai hotel lama yang terkenal, tetapi agak kecewa. 1. Saya mempunyai alamat tetap di Jepun, jadi permintaan pihak depan untuk kad kediaman adalah wajar, tetapi mereka juga mahu menyalin dokumen pengenalan diri saya. Tiada hotel lain di Jepun yang berbuat demikian, yang saya rasa sangat membingungkan. 2. Botol syampu di bilik mandi masih ada rambut tetamu sebelum ini, yang sungguh tidak patut. Saya sebenarnya ingin bertanya kepada pihak depan, tetapi terlalu letih pada waktu malam dan tidak ada tenaga untuk berdebat. 3. Mari kita sebutkan perkara yang bagus. Sarapan paginya cukup mewah, dan dari tempat duduk di tepi tingkap, anda boleh menikmati pemandangan bandar."

"Definitely coming again!! Highly recommend this hotel! Only bad thing is that they do not have a hotel shuttle u have to walk to take the yuzawa shuttle and it’s uphill u have to push your luggage up. Other than this it’s a really perfect place!!!"

"The hotel is atmosphere with a nice blend of the old and new. It is located not too far from Uonuma no Sato and have a complimentary shuttle service to and fro Hatago Isen opposite Echigo Yuzawa Station. The room is big and there is nice heated table area. The bathroom is nice but as with traditional lodgings such as this, it can be pretty cold especially at the bathroom area in winter. Dinner was served in a bento format at our room. I was a little disappointed that it is a not a proper sit-down meal at the main dining area instead. The bento includes two generously sized onigiri, appetizers, and four main items including a meat patty, grilled fish and braised wagyu. The onsen bath is also quite nice and loved the bath with the snowy landscaped garden. Service is generally good and there are snacks and drinks available at the lounge for guests. In the evening, there is also sake and umeshu available for guests."

"The hotel itself was nice, but the staff at the ski resort was horrible, the rentals are also not well maintained. The boards are not waxed, which makes it difficult to work with as there are a lot of flat routes which are difficult to avoid (Pony and village road were the flattest slope Ive ever seen in my life, I had to unstrap and walk and the board just wouldn't move). Ski resort staff were unfriendly and the rental staff was the worst, there was a lady there that was cold and rude. The only reason why the rental shop is surviving is probably because the equipments are salomon branded and that there is no other option.  I would visit again but only because the routes are fun, Myoko long run was the best, but I would never want to rent from the shop again. The food was very very good. For breakfast, you could choose from western or Japanese buffet. Western buffet is highly recommended, the omelette was the best ive eaten in my life and there was a diy risotto which was great as well. For dinner, there were 4 options, either buffet, steak, Japanese or shabushabu. All requiring reservations which is tough if you are checking in the evening as some might not be available. Highly recommend the steak, the food was good and the staff were amazing. Japanese was the hardest to get a reservation for but the food was quite underwhelming. The room was clean and ski lockers are also provided but it's tiny and can barely fit 2 boards. But I wish that in the toilet in the common area, you can adjust the tap temperature as the water is freezing cold. Amenities wise, bottled water are provided daily, also, yukata was provided but you can only wear them to the onsen which was extremely troublesome as I had to change multiple times a day.  The hotel provides shuttle bus services to and fro jyoetsumyoko station which was easy to book. The bus drivers were also friendly and helped out with the luggage. In summary, for a 5 stars hotel, it didn't live up to expectations, ski resort and rental staffs were unwilling to help and unfriendly. Also, some of the staffs could not speak Japanese which is puzzling for a hotel in Japan. If not for the amazing snow and slopes I would never come back."
