"After a long trip along the Kumano Kudo, this place is just exactly what I was looking for: clean, queit and private, mixing a Japanese style with modern services. I must say I didn't expect such exquisite dinners set and breakfast sets at the stage of booking. Every plate is delicated and well prepared. Staff are extremely friendly and especially the Japanese young lady who speaks perfect English at the restaurant, talking with her is a delight and I can see she is dedicated to helping the guests to learn about the Japanese cuisine. I had a great stay here, sleeping with soft sounds of waves and waking up with the breeeze of sea wind, perfect vacation. 100% recommended."

"Best location! They do have laundry service but there is an extra charge. Breakfast is Japanese style that is so awesome! 7 mins walk from Kii Tanabe train station. Plus they help me to keep my luggage during my solo hike in Komono kodo. Staff are helpful & sweet. And u can see the train thought the room, super cool! Will be back!"

"We had a lovely 6-day stay at Shiraraso Grand Hotel with breakfast and dinner included. What stood out most was the personal touch in everything—something you rarely find in chain hotels. Every staff member works well as a team to ensure guests are comfortable, and we appreciated that throughout our stay.
Our room was meticulously cleaned each day. The view was spectulae. We had good sleep because of the comfortable beds and pillow. The hot bath was a nice bonus, and we also enjoyed the free wine events.
The buffet breakfast and dinner were genuinely impressive. Over six nights, the chef prepared nearly 10 courses each evening with almost no repetition. We truly appreciated the variety and effort. They accommodated our special request of replacing the sashimi dishes to cooked food.
A special thank you to Mr. T. FUKUSHIMA. Due to my own mistake, I had booked a room with futon beds that we wouldn't have been able to use. He arranged a room upgrade for us (with a reasonable fee) and looked after us during our entire trip. His kindness and helpfulness made a real difference.
Also, thank you to Miss S. OZAWA, who helped us with a few personal requests to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
All the staff were polite and helpful throughout. We left feeling very well taken care of."

"Grateful for the nice and helpful lady at the reception. Facilities are great (Onsen of course), a decent room to stay in and they even offer you amenities to enjoy tea there. Also, thankful to the hotel that offered me a ride to the train station so that I don't have to worry about getting on a bus with my heavy luggage. "The location is only 10 mins walk from the Wakayama train station. The restaurants nearby are The room is more spacious than other hotels we had stayed in Japan. Free ice cream and complimentary drinks are offered, and we enjoy the hotspring very much. I highly recommend this hotel to tourists who want to stay in the Wakayama city for 2-3 days. Just a reminder to freinds that the hotel doesn't provide free daily bedroom cleaning due to the environmental policy of the Wakayama city, so additional fee will be requested if you really a daily room service. Towels and supplies can be replaced for free upon request, and garbage can be dumped at the recycling bin yourself. Overall this hotel is excellent for couples and a family."

KKikimama116I had an absolutely delightful stay at this hotel. Every aspect of the experience exceeded expectations — the room was impeccably clean, elegantly designed, and exceptionally comfortable. The staff were warm, attentive, and provided truly outstanding service throughout my stay.
The breakfast was particularly impressive, offering a refined selection of high-quality, fresh, and beautifully presented options that made each morning a pleasure. The location is ideal, and the facilities are superbly maintained, contributing to an overall sense of sophistication and relaxation.

MMia’s Travel MemoirsFor the price, this was a really average stay. The staff were average, as well as the food. The staff were friendly but they didn’t feel genuine. The Temple itself is very beautiful. The rooms are large, however the floor mattresses are completely worn out so you can actually feel the hard floor beneath you. I’ve stayed in a Ryokan before and their mattresses were still soft and comfortable so this Temples mattresses are definitely in need of an upgrade. Would I come here again? Probably not.

GGuest UserArrive at JR Shirahama Station and then transfer to the taxi for about 4 minutes. It is very close to Toretore market and can be reached on foot. The rooms are panda-shaped and spacious inside. Dinner and breakfast are buffet style

IItagaki motokoWe had a wonderful stay at this hotel during our Japan trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a beautiful atmosphere and excellent facilities. Staff members were polite, helpful, and always smiling, making us feel very welcome from check in until departure. The location was convenient, close to restaurants, attractions, and public transport. Breakfast was delicious with many choices, and the overall service exceeded our expectations. Everything was smooth, relaxing, and enjoyable. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would definitely return again in the future someday soon.

GGuest UserThis onsen hotel is right by the sea. We had a room with a 180-degree unbeatable ocean view, a super spacious room, and a huge balcony. The hotel's facilities, management, and service are all top-notch. There's a large public bath, a mixed-gender bath, and several private onsen rooms. The hotel is not far from Sandanbeki and Senjojiki, easily reachable on foot. Highly recommend! 👍

MmotoppAfter a great stay at the Kuaian Hotel by the rice paddies, I decided to check out the Kuaian Nachiura store, which I'd been eyeing for a while. It was about a ten-minute walk with my luggage, and the hotel was right by the road, with cherry blossoms in full bloom. My room had a fantastic ocean view, and I could even see Bentenjima island from my balcony. I managed to catch the sunset on the beach, which was wonderfully quiet and peaceful – I loved it. In the evening, I enjoyed another relaxing hot spring bath. For breakfast the next day, we had a reservation for 8:15 AM, but I woke up early to catch the sunrise and thought we might be able to eat earlier. To my surprise, we were politely turned away and told to stick to our reservation time (it turns out breakfast is quite a formal affair!). We realized we were a bit too casual and were heading back to our room to wait when the friendly elderly gentleman at reception called us back and found us a table. We had a beautiful view of a corner of Bentenjima island while enjoying a very formal breakfast. It was a wonderful experience overall.

GGuest UserWe stayed in this lovely family hotel for a night, we opted for room stay with dinner and breakfast. There's no shops or restaurant near by, so highly suggest to choose the stay with meals option, otherwise there's cooking facility within the room also, so I think it's possible to cook your own meal if necessary.
Location - the hotel is just round the corner of the famous Shirasaki Ocean Park, we even had a good view of the park from our room. There's parking space right in front of the hotel building, so it's very handy. We cycled to the Shirasaki Ocean Park then to the hotel, so it worked out perfect. There's a very steep slop going up to the hotel though, but it wasn't an issue for us as we pushed out bikes up.
Facilities - this is a family run hotel which believes was built a while ago, so can't compare it to all those new built hotels. The ”room” we stayed is more like a mini flat, it has a big kitchen, good sized bathroom with changing area, a separate toilet, a living room, bedroom and an extra ”sitting” area. The entire flat is in traditional Japanese style which we loved, and it has all facilities that made our stay comfortable. It also has coined washing machine and driers. We could even access to rooftop on the 4th floor to view the sunset. If you're looking for a quiet place to have quality time, then this is a good place to do so. There's also ”public bath” within the hotel, it's small but wasn't an issue for us. There's also shower and bath in the room also if you want some privacy.
Food - all food was cooked and prepared by the hotel owner, and she's a talented chef! Dinner was impressive, breakfast was standard.
The hotel owner is very friendly and lovely, it's definitely ”the place” to stay if you're visiting the area. We highly recommend it.

East wing indeed is the newest one: our room has all the facilities, it was spacious, clean and has fantastic view from the balcony. Meals were in traditional Japanese style, so might not be to everyone's liking, but we enjoyed all of them. I wasn't able to go to the onsen (as I have several big tattoes), but my husband liked an open one!
Also, even though it is not listed in the hotel's description, but they do provide a parking if you come by your own car (as we did), which was very helpful, considering remoteness of location.
All in all it was great experience, and not costly at all!
Just one small remark: I do not eat meat and was concerned about parking, so I tried to contact the hotel in advance via Trip.com first and then their e-mail (listed on the web-site) to clarify those things... with zero success. I don't know if the reason was that I wrote in English and they barely speak it, but eventually I didn't get any response at all.
Other than that really nothing to complain about!

TTrissyIt was out of our expectation. It is a standalone apartment that has everything you need. It is better to register all the guest’s information online via the email. That will make your check-in more convenient. We were impressed with the backyard. We planned to have dinner there. Unfortunately, it was cold and raining. We definitely wanna stay there again. It’s at a very great location, close to the shopping center, and the bus stop of Kumano hiking, just in a few mins walk. Even you don’t do hiking, it is also good for a bunch of friends for a retreat.
