The hotel is located on a mountain with beautiful scenery. However, the facilities are spread out across different areas of the mountain. In particular, the restaurants are mostly located downhill, and guests need to walk long distances using stairs or escalators. This layout is not very suitable for elderly guests or families with young children. The male staff member who handled our check-in was clearly unprofessional. He was unable to answer basic questions or properly introduce the hotel facilities. Our booking included both breakfast and dinner, but when we asked which restaurant we should go to for meals, he simply told us to make a reservation online. When we explained that we were unable to do so and asked for his assistance, it turned out that he did not know how to use the system himself. He also did not seek help from his colleagues, resulting in a long delay. Eventually, he told us that only one restaurant accepted walk-in guests. After making our way down to that restaurant, the staff there informed us that dinner was not included at that location. Fortunately, the restaurant staff helped us by making a phone call and discovered that the hotel had already arranged our dinner reservation at a specific restaurant in advance. This made us question whether the check-in staff had provided incorrect or careless information. The breakfast arrangements were also very disappointing. The breakfast menu listed around ten options, but almost all of the Japanese-style breakfast slots were already fully booked. We had checked in at around 5:00 p.m., which made this situation even more unreasonable. Afterward, we noticed similar complaints in other reviews regarding the hotel’s poor dining arrangements. The bathing area was visually appealing, but the amenities were very limited. There was no water dispenser, facial cleansing products, or skincare items provided—only a hair dryer. In summary, the hotel’s hardware and design are quite good and tasteful, but the service quality and overall management are extremely poor.

The staff were attentive, professional, and always ready to help, creating a level of service that truly stands out. The rooms were beautifully maintained, combining traditional Japanese elements with contemporary comfort. One of the highlights was definitely the Pearl Aurora Onsen, which was incredibly relaxing and left my skin feeling amazingly smooth. The complimentary welcome tea and cheesecake, along with the evening marshmallow roasting by the lobby, were thoughtful touches that made the stay feel extra special. Both dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations. Every course was beautifully presented, featuring fresh local ingredients and refined flavours that made each meal feel like a special occasion. Dining in a peaceful, private setting made the experience even more memorable. The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle service from Toba Station, making it easy to reach despite its tranquil location. Overall, Shiojitei perfectly balances traditional Japanese hospitality, excellent cuisine, and a relaxing atmosphere. It was one of the most memorable stays of my trip, and I would gladly return on my next visit to the Ise-Shima region.

The onsen was equally impressive—immaculately maintained, soothing, and the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Every dish showcased the freshness of the local seafood and seasonal ingredients, with each course thoughtfully presented. Dining here wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience. What stood out most was the attention to detail. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, from the seamless check-in to the thoughtful service throughout our visit. You can genuinely feel the pride they take in providing outstanding hospitality. If you’re looking for an authentic luxury ryokan experience with amazing food, stunning views, and unforgettable service, Sun Urashima Yuki no Sato is absolutely worth the visit. We left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to returning someday.

The hotel has a great environment, and the rooms are very spacious and clean. I recommend the buffet breakfast; the selection is quite refined. The hot springs offer three different types of water, which I highly recommend trying. It's the best value for money in the area. I suggest staying here if you're driving; there is free parking.

It's a clean and nice hotel. However, the bathrobe-style loungewear is easy to come undone, and the knot hurts when you lie down, which is annoying. It's quite stressful for someone who has come from far away and is tired and finally arrives at the hotel. I look forward to the future. The staff's service is polite and elegant, and the location is very close to the station, so I would like to use it again in the future. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to serve customers with masks. I remember that the WHO also announced that masks are not effective for either coronavirus or influenza. Japan is the only country that is lagging behind in wearing masks, and it has become part of the etiquette at work, but it's scary to serve customers without seeing their faces.

this amount of money? I thought it was a great deal. It's a hot spring, but it's easy and good when it's time to change, so I want you to clean it. The dressing room and bathroom slip. Maybe it was because there were children.

During my recent stay at Hotel R9 at Yard Tsu, I had a mixed experience, resulting in an overall rating of 3 out of 5. While the hotel was generally acceptable, there were some notable drawbacks. One major issue I encountered was the cleanliness of the rooms. I was disappointed to find a significant number of insects on the walls, which was quite unpleasant and off-putting. As a result, I had to deduct points and give it a rating of 3 out of 5 for cleanliness. Additionally, compared to my previous stay at another Hotel R9 location, the price at Yard Tsu was slightly higher. However, it was still within an acceptable range considering the overall quality of the hotel. Despite the drawbacks, I must mention that the hotel's staff were courteous and attentive, providing decent service throughout my stay. In conclusion, while Hotel R9 at Yard Tsu has some room for improvement in terms of cleanliness, its reasonable price and satisfactory service make it an acceptable choice for a short stay. However, I would recommend management to address the cleanliness issue to ensure a more pleasant experience for guests.

Nice, clean, big room that was comfortable. Located across the street from the beach and from eateries and a supermarket, this hotel is convenient especially for self-drive holiday that we did. We felt we didn't explore enough of the coast and would have taken 1 more day. If so, we come back here again.

The service was excellent. We had Japanese food for both breakfast and dinner. The carefully prepared dishes were served in a kaiseki style, and the taste, service, and atmosphere were all wonderful. Next time, I'd like to try the French cuisine!

The hotel is easily reachable by car, but if you are using the train, it’s 30/40min by walk or you should jump on a bus. Nearby there are konbinis and a supermarket, which is super useful if you want to eat at the hotel and take advantage of the microwave (there are not a lot of restaurants nearby). The hotel is clean and comfortable—if you want, you can also book a private bath room for free, which is great. On top of the usual amenities, you can also find different options for shampoo and conditioner (ex. one for damaged hair, etc..)
