PPengguna TetamuWe were pleasantly surprised by the homely atmosphere upon arrival and were warmly greeted by the host (co-owner). We booked a room to accommodate 4 of us but realised upon arrival that it was a little too small to accommodate all of us. The host immediately gave us another adjoining room within the same chalet at a very reasonable rate. The rooms were very thoughtfully designed, for example there were heat lamps above the shower stall so that one did not have to contend with the cold after a shower; and the bathroom lights were motion sensor activated so that one did not have to stumble around in the middle of the night. The place is well-kept and has excellent and personalised service. We were driven by the host to the Nanshan ski park and nearby places for dinner, and on the last day to the train station; all this at no extra cost. The in-house dinner was good and delicious and very reasonably priced. It is a cozy place for families to gather and engage in recreational activities. We were treated to a traditional tea session within the premises by the host, who was extremely gracious and warm. All the co-owners were also extremely helpful and attentive to our needs, making our short stay there a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you! We will return in the near future! :)

I am a very experienced traveler and have been to dozens of countries, but I can confidently say that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Every area here is thought out: a high-tech room of impeccable cleanliness with a pillow menu to choose from and 6 lighting options. Excellent dietary cuisine in the restaurant and a huge selection of dishes for breakfast. Very polite and customer-oriented attentive staff, they helped me with absolutely all my requests! But, of course, the highlight of the hotel is the impressive healing Ayurvedic center! The Head of the center, Dr. Balan is an experienced Ayurveda guru, with a tailored comprehensive program and the center's team, helped me restore my nervous system, restore immunity, and diagnose a chronic ailment that affected my quality of life, and all this just in 6 days! I mostly recommend this hotel to tired, overloaded residents of megacities, here you will simply find yourself in paradise! I will definitely come back more than once, huge thanks to the management and staff of the Grand Bay Beijing Hotel, who created this island of peace and relaxation on earth

PPengguna TetamuThe locations is located at the heart of the Gubei Water Town Resort. Is just 15 min walk to Simatai Great Wall and there's a shuttle bus that take you around.
In Nov is off peak seasons 50%of the shops are closed but they restaurants, gifts shops open. The dye shop is open for you to take pictures but no DIY program. The wine shop is open for you to try the wine and take pictures. If you like you can buy the wine. The basement is the wine storage and wime making area. Because is off peak time you can only take pictures and not view the making of wine.
The hotel give out complimentary hotsprings vouchers and the resort town visitor centre give complimentary tickets for option 1- hanfu dressing, 2- Boat ride
3- foot reflexology
At night there's a water show and Drone showtime. The drone show depends on weather.

HHannah Lauren Bond- The location is excellent. It is just round the corner from Gubei Water Town. A two minute walk to the entrance hall.
- The service was good. The staff added us on WeChat and were very quick to respond to messages and queries. One stand out moment for us was when our food was 2 hours late from a local restaurant. I was struggling to communicate with the restaurant because my Chinese is not very good. Staff reached out on our behalf and sorted the issue for us.
- Cleanliness was OK. The sheets on the bed felt lovely and clean, but the apartment was not spotless. The shower had some black mould, and the floor in the kitchen felt sticky.
- The apartment itself had some pros. My son absolutely loved all the toys and the slides. It made his experience very enjoyable.
- Plenty of towels, toiletries provided.
However
- The shower leaked constantly. Every time we used the shower the bathroom would become flooded - which was a slipping hazard for my son.
- The curtains are very thin. Every morning we were woken up to a bright light streaming through the windows. This meant that my son’s sleep was not great. We did contact the staff about this. They used sellotape to stick up some bedsheets on the windows, but this fell down within minutes! We appreciate the efforts though.
- We would have felt better if there was a stair gate. As this is an apartment aimed at families, a stair gate would be good for safety.
- Limited cutlery is provided. We were given some disposable chopsticks. However very few cooking utensils / no children’s cutlery. Bring your own if you want to cook. :)
- There was only once choice of breakfast - which was not to our personal taste. Would be good if 2 or three options were provided. There is a lovely bakery around the corner and we enjoyed buying our breakfast from there for the remainder of the trip.

PPengguna TetamuGubei Watertown Hotel is the best choice we ever made for Gubei trip! The hotel came with the package of spacious room overseeing Simatai Great Wall, unlimited entrance access to Watertown via face recognition, 1 afternoon tea at QingYe Inn (we were pleasantly surprised with the food that they served!), 1 Chinese tea 禅茶with cookies/ fruits n nuts in TongYuan pagoda. We stayed 3D2N in this lovely serene town during this freezy winter but we were paid off with no crowd and zen feel. Breakfast choice is superb based on the varieties that they prepared. Simatai Great Wall is just walking distance but we go with free shuttle service since we are the hotel guests. Simatai Great Wall ticket with 2 way cable car cost CNY220 for day trip. Simatai Great Wall also has night view with cable car cost CNY200 but if you are the hotel guest then special rate at CNY120. It is the only Great Wall that has night view n it is lovely n touching to see Gubei town at night from top of Great Wall. After night Great Wall, we went to sauna spa (voucher provided in hotel package 🥰) n the pool overlooking Great Wall, lovely isn’t it?
I want to specifically thank the hotel staff 冀英杰being super helpful to show us the room, recommended the best food, showing the way of work for Great Wall route n he was the one who highly recommend Great Wall night view and I truly appreciate it. He has also helped me to get the money changing since we are back to Beijing via bus, also helping us to keep the luggage after check out as we are walking around to wait for 5pm bus. Overall, I really felt happy to choose this hotel with full package which cost optimal with quality stay. What a memorable trip in Gubei!

OOlga aka AmyI travelled together with my family on the first day of the year. A perfect location, favored for a couple of years. You never notice the amount of travelers and tourists here, it’s always quiet and pleasant experience! Perfect place to unwind and relax. We visited the park, the farm and the hot springs.
Hot springs outside are something! They look magical at night! Take into account there will be no one around you and you’ll get a brand new experience of soaking in steaming hot fragrant water under the stars…
Breakfast options are widely available for everyone, even a peaky eater.
Check-in and check-out procedures are easy, take little to no time. With registration in the hotel, one of the service members will give you their personal number, and they will be available for your call or request 24/7.
I wanted to say special thanks to Ms Little Housekeeper ( 小李管家). She helped me out a lot during the whole trip, and assisted with arranging flowers, food and my other special requests. Thank you , dear!

QQMA travelsHotel room was great with ample space even for 3.Directly Connected to the hot spring which we can enjoy all day. Hence, you don't have to worry about cold weather. This hotel is near Daxing airport. Cost around 50 to 60 RMB by Didi app. Hotel breakfast has good selections, esp. The 煎饼 is nice. I also like the Chinese 小菜。Service is excellent , esp the waitress 杨丽彤 wo served our table. Good hotel choice for those who want to stay near airport but away from the buzzling city

TthousandmilesNot worth the price and disappointing - I booked this place after looking at the images on the website, they looked very convincing. So I booked it for me and my wife to spend a relaxing day looking at the peaceful mountains and forest. However those pictures were quite misleading. The hotel is a compound of lackluster buildings build to a mountain side right next to the road. The view is nothing like in the website photos but quite mediocre.
The room was quite good and modern. Which was the only plus point. Also the smart toilet and bathroom with the bathtub was nice, but it was evident the hotel staff needs to learn more about housekeeping. It seems like they were penny pinching. The bedsheets had holes in them, no glasses to drink water, only two water bottles and only two packs of coffee. Very very disappointing for the price I paid for one night.
Furthermore although it says 24 hours concierge service，after 9 pm they stop responding to messages on wechat. I asked in Chinese to send some water bottles and glasses but they didn't respond. Very unprofessional.
The breakfast was also pretty basic. Not even fresh juice, just a typical Chinese breakfast you will find in any low budget hotel.
The swimming pool was so so and dirty. Other amenities were for kids, so I can't comment on those.
Overall the hotel is very mediocre and not worth the money they are charging per night. I won't recommend this place to anyone as there are better places around this area for lesser price.
