This recently refurbished hotel was ideal for our 1-night stay. The room was clean & tidy. Everything worked as it should (except the hairdryer, which wasn’t really a problem for us). It is located close to the services so there were a few facilities/restaurants close by. Staff were friendly. Access to the room was quick & easy.

Happy to help, nice rooms, no biscuits but it’s ok. Nice big quality tv, comfy soft bed, nice heater that heated room quickly, small bath…but still a bath which was good. Water pressure to run bath was quick. I noticed had a big shower head, so would have been a nice shower, I just prefer a bath. Overall comfortable good place to go to for any reason. Price I got at one point was £50 per night. Same stay same night was £110 for one night at premier inn.

Perfect for one night stay. Very close to Taunton centre. Good breakfast.

Loved the sea air so much me and my partner wanted to stay another night and it was extremely simple to book another room after checking out! Reception staff also helped in giving us the best deal.

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. Nice clean room, river view, breakfast was full service- eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, marmite, section of butter, honey and jams as well as yogurts. No cheese and fresh fruit which would have been nice to have. We have a fan in our room and the weather was delightful. We also enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant which- we ordered pork ribs and chicken Ceasar salad(too good as they char grilled the lettuce). Will definitely come back!

Great historic building the tor was great but the food at the pilgrims was shocking! We stayed 2 nights and they ran out of food both nights. The local curry restaurant was amazing but you can’t eat curry for breakfast lunch & dinner. The room we stayed in was called the nuns room and for some reason as the night progressed it became increasingly hot! The building is old so no air con but fans were provided. Friendly staff and very welcoming people all around Glastonbury. The locals are amazing definitely would recommend visiting but unfortunately I won’t be returning.

The man I assume is the owner/manger is so nice and helpful. Slept well. Has parking. Close to bus route to travel into the centre. The only things that lost the 5th star was the shower as the water pressure was low so took a while to warm up then not much power to wash with, and the bed was a bit creaky but it is what it is. Will stay there again when visiting bath.

What a fabulous find! A beautiful home with a lovely host, Richard. Room was clean and spacious with complimentary wine! Coffee and tea plentiful Continental breakfast was presented beautifully and was nice to speak with other guests. Walk into town took us 20 minutes but there are plenty of buses if you would prefer. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

the stay was lovely very nice rooms and the pool is clean and fairly big didn’t have breakfast so can not comment on that

The hotel is situated on the busy A38 but is not affected by traffic noise. All the staff are polite and considerate and go the extra mile to provide good service The food is outstanding ; beautifully presented and prepared. And it tastes great too! Good bar too which is imp because there’s little else to find a drink in the village. Ideal for short or longer stays if you have a car. Taunton is clos for good shopping and the Somerset levels a dozen miles away. I’d stay there again anytime.

I personally love this place due to its quiet location. It has all you need if you want to stay onsite for your stay, entertainment, bar, etc, But lots of other places to go & explore providing you have a car. Food is ok but as we have a car can travel to choose loads of other restaurants, take aways that are around Sand bay & Weston Super Mare to eat. The rooms are comfortable, clean & sufficient. Excellent base for the lovely surrounding area. Very reasonably priced.

The hotel was excellent, when we first arrived the reception area was very busy, but the staff were very polite, and took the time to explain to each guest how to use the cards to the rooms. The room and hotel were very clean and smelt fresh, our room only had a shower, when i returned to main reception and asked for a room with a bath, Michael working at the main desk was very polite, friendly, well mannered and when above and beyond to find us a room that fitted our needs, our stay was very pleasant and because of Michaels professional attitude towards the guests we have already decide to return in the summer. so if you need a place to relax and enjoy WSM book this hotel, thank you to all the staff who work over the festive season. The hotel was good value for the money, and has a high recommendation from us if you are planning a vist to WSM, 7 minutes to the beach.
