Hotel Dengan breakfast di Groningen, Netherlands

When I was about to check out, the receptionist told me that I hadn’t paid the city tax, even though I had already paid it in coins when I checked in. I was surprised at first, but it turned out that the receptionist who checked me in had forgotten to record the payment in their system. Fortunately, everything was sorted out. All good! The staff were very kind and gave me a lower bed because I can’t climb to the upper bed.

Our trip was very relaxed and we enjoyed it much because we stayed in this hotel wherein it is located near the tourists attractions. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. what is more nice is that we were able to cook breakfast in our hotel room!everything that we need are there like iron for clothes, hair dryer etc. the staff were also nice.

The hotel is not near the train station but quite a walking distance from the old town. There’s a bus stop nearby if you’re too lazy to walk, but it’s about 2km to the Groningen Train Station. We tried to walk in the morning to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, and it’s not that far (but can be the case when you have to lug your large luggage). There’s no free champagne given, unlike the other branches, but the receptionist was friendly and offered tickets as a replacement, which we could claim either tea, coffee, or beer. It’s great to stay here even when it’s not as near to the train station as the Eindhoven one.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was quiet because it was a little far from the center of the city. I think I heard a lot if there were people or cars outside, but it was very comfortable without that during my stay. The staff is also kind. I was told to send a hotel tax receipt by email, but it was not sent.

The hotel is located in a very good place, very close to Grote Market, at the same time my room was quiet. The receptionist is there round the clock. The bed comfortable, the shower quite large. It was a bit cold, though, and it was not yet winter. And the toilet pump was incredibly noisy in both my room and the room above, where they flushed in the middle of the night and scared the life our of me. Recommend

The hotel is right in the centre of Veendam, and whilst it's not luxurious, it's clean and comfortable. The bar is excellent, their own beers are also very good, and there's a wide range of others available should you prefer. The food in the restaurant was also pretty good, being tasty and generous. We'll certainly be back!

Very kind people took over this place a few months back. It was the best hotel we could find in the area for travellers without a car, and it was a good choice! Honestly service and kind approach to a customer can make up for any stars. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. Coffee and tea available all day.

The hotel is very clean with a great location in the centre of the city. The room is spacious and even though there are three beds in the room there is space to move and place suitcases. The room is quiet with ac. Breakfast is 18 euro per person so we decided to walk to Starbucks instead.

The room was perfectly fine! It had all the facilities you'd need, though it was quite small. The hotel's service was fantastic. For example, we received complimentary drinks in our minibar, including a small bottle of wine, a beer, some soft drinks, and water. Breakfast was a bit pricey, but delicious! The location is also definitely a plus. It's about a 10-minute bus ride to the city center and very close to the Stadspark (City Park). If I visit Groningen again, I'll definitely choose Mercure.
