"A really nice hotel with wonderful environment located above Ascona. The ladies at the reception were very friendly although not very professional but everything was all good. What was not in order was breakfast incl. service. The rhetoric was ugly and tasted horriblely for it missed the brat spike. The coffee machine did not work properly. Instead of a capuccino, some coffee came out no longer. The breads were not fresh and the Birchermüesli was too sweet and so on. Please go to Casa Moscia (about 100m walking distance) breakfast, then you know what a superb breakfast is and how it should be. Then try the dinner there. All in your restaurant needs to be radically changed. First of all, the incompetent staff. Even if you can work with the chef of the Casa Mosca. This would be a good solution to the problem, for example."

"We booked 3 nights at this hotel and I was a bit apprehensive having read previous reviews but what a wonderful, positive surprise. We were picked up at the train station by the hotel courtesy service. Greeted by the reception staff and offered a welcome Prosecco or soft drink and snack. The room with large balcony overlooking the spectacular scenery was very nice indeed, including outdoor futniture. The room was spacious, extremely clean, modern, very comfortable bed, little bouquet of fresh flowers, selection of fresh fruits and sweets. A kettle was provided on request. Bathroom was large with all amenities. Breakfast was super with selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts, muesli, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, salmon, eggs, pastries and more. We had dinner in the hotel two nights (because the first night was so good) and the choice as well as the food was excellent. Compliments to the chef and his team. The gardens are beautifully maintained with sun loungers dotted around as well as around the pool area also with magnificent view. There is a very pretty pergola with outdoor seating where you can enjoy food or drinks overlooking the pool and wonderful scenery beyond. I paid particular attention to the staff due to previous reviews and found them somewhat surly although helpful and professional. However, we did get a bright smiley good morning from a guy who hoovering the corrider which compensated nicely. Also the lady who greeted us at breakfast and dinner was very friendly and chatty (I think she is a member of the family who owns the hotel) which I think is a nice touch. The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk down to Ascona centre and lake, probably a 15 minutes steep walk back up which we enjoyed as a form of exercise. The hotel provides a courtesy shuttle service on request also to and from Locarno train station We have visited this hotel a few times over the years and it just gets better and better. Well done team Ascona! We are already looking forward to the next visit and highly recommend it. A few more smiles from the staff, a show of friendliness and it would be perfect."

"😊4 night stay ( April 28th). Great service from walking in the door on the 28th to departing on May 2nd😊👍.. Everything about Casa Berno is 1st class ⭐.. Spotless throughout, with a level of service that was equally ⭐... It is easy to see why Ulrike, who manages the restaurant ,has been at the hotel for over 30 years..in a word she was outstanding!😊. There is plenty more I could say.. but maybe just try it for yourself 😊👍⭐. Ps: thankyou to everyone 😊"

"I stayed at the Parkhotel in July with my husband and 9 year old daughter. It was lovely! The pictures do not do it justice - the hotel is so much better in person. The grounds are just immaculate with stunning views and plenty of space to explore. We stayed in one of the apartments - which was modern, clean and lovely. All of the room options are very close to the main lobby/pool area. Breakfast buffet was great and pool so nice. Although in the summer we did need to get down early to grab pool chairs before they were all taken. The front desk was friendly but somewhat limited in being able to suggest good restaurants in town. My only complaint is the restaurant and bar staff tended to always come across stressed and rude. Maybe it was because we were American (although we used our limited German) but the service was definitely not as friendly for what I'd expect in a hotel of this caliber. The pool/snack bar was certainly overwhelmed during the peak days and seating was limited and service hard to get - so may have just been a staffing issue. BUT everything else was so lovely we would definitely stay again. The property is worth it."

"We passed a couple of days in Summer and we liked it so much, that 3 of us came back this November to enjoy the pool and the late Autumn in and around Ascona with local friends and family. The staff is very frinedly, competent and helpful. The apartment was in perfect shape. And as allwas at Hapimag, there is everything one needs in the kitchen and the rest of the apartment. We hope to come more often. We only wondered who could have the idea to design the kitchen in the hospital green color in the otherwise cozy matte red/brown/yellow/white living room?"

"Firstly and most importantly, extremely kind and helpful staff. Very clean. Everything is of good quality (faucets, mattresses, etc.). High-quality ingredients (cheeses, vegetables, cold cuts, etc.) in breakfast. Only boiled eggs, though. Coffee does not stand up to the standard of other ingredients. Location OK - on one hand, still a bit further from the lake but not too far, on the other hand, this contributes to quiet surroundings."

"The Jazz Hotel is a cheaply furnished hotel in a central location in Ascona. The rooms are cheaply furnished and soundproof. We booked through a reputable booking platform. For a full week's stay, we were given the worst and noisiest room in the hotel, right next to reception with loud music and opposite the breakfast room and a freely accessible coffee machine. This meant no sleeping in and no privacy. We therefore asked for a quieter room. For an additional charge of CHF 250 (!), we were able to move into the same cheaply furnished, small room on a different floor. I'm unclear as to why we were charged this extra fee; it was supposedly an upgrade. The bathroom is old and very small, so you often end up hitting yourself. The shower was very small and calcified. The breakfast room has the ambiance of a train station waiting room. The breakfast is straightforward and always the same, served carelessly with lots of ready-made products. There wasn't fresh bread, rolls, or croissants every day, and stale sausage, cheese, and Bircher muesli were offered every day. Conversation in the breakfast room was almost impossible due to the noisy refrigerated counter. This was by far the worst place I've ever spent my time in, and the price was definitely not cheap. Never again."

"The hotel is high on Monte Verita; the view is really beautiful. The quiet location is great. The tea garden is also worth seeing. Unfortunately, at arrival we were not informed or instructed where the breakfast room was. It was not a nice reception. The information flowed more than delicate. The thin info film in the room is not complete. We could take our dog with; that was already positive. However, we received nothing for the dogs' pause; no water in the room, no dog bed, no welcome goods. On Saturday, a wedding society was found. Nothing negative, just that we did not find a parking place when we returned from dinner. There would the hotel guests have to find at least a reserved parking place? On Sunday, at beautiful weather, the table was covered for breakfast. Without questioning whether this would be OK for us... Generally unfriendly staff. The rooms without balcony with original building furniture and lamps. The bathroom is very uncomfortable. To shower you need to go practically over the toilet to get into the bathtub. The window cannot be opened. The furnace, from the last century, is also expected to be accualized. All in all simply lacks a quantine style and enthusiasm."

The hotel has had a total refurbishment in the past few years and is contemporary but not too modern. Service was top notch. Although there was a wedding on the night we arrived our small group ate in the restaurant and had outstanding food. Superb breakfast."

"Short vacation with the dog. The staff was very friendly throughout. Even though the dog wasn't allowed in the restaurant, to my surprise he was allowed on the terrace, which was great. The staff there were also very accommodating and friendly. The room was as described and shown online. The view was really great (especially when the weather was nice).
