"This place is a bit far from the center of Berlin, but it seems to be a safe and, according to locals, affluent area. There isn't staff on-site all the time, but I was able to check in via internet call. The showers are shared between men and women, which is common in Germany, but there seems to be a separate women's shower room, so effectively they are separated. Both the showers and toilets were clean; I had no issues with them. However, since it's on the ground floor and faces the street, I occasionally heard voices, footsteps, and smelled cigarette smoke from outside, but that's to be expected. I'd likely stay here again on my next trip to Berlin!"

"The DameritzSeehotel was a big disappointment. The 2 very narrow beds sit together in the center of the wide room; when I leaned back on the bed to read, the entire bed squeaked. There wasonly 1 pillow per bed. There was no safe in the room. There was not a coffee pot or kettle in the room. There was a multi-purpose soap/shampoo that caused my skin to itch terribly. I had to go to the nearby drugstore to get shampoo, soap and body lotion. The breakfast buffet, an additional 15 euro per person, was already depleted of cheeses at 9:30 am. There were no coffee or tea cups at that hour. We ordered scrambled eggs - they were good but it took 20 minutes toget them. We asked for a room that faced the lake but were given one that faced the street. The staff was nice. The management doesn't seem to care about the customer. Not recommended "

"The overall vibe of the hotel was pretty cool and hip. We read great reviews prior to visiting, so we went with high expectations which unfortunately were not met. For us the biggest let down was the housekeeping. The room was not cleaned thoroughly.. spider webs, mould in shower etc so we didn’t get the carefree feeling we were expecting from a 5* hotel. We also felt that the facilities and rooms are not that exceptional to justify the price, having in mind one can stay at other well established 5* hotels nearby with half the price. Location is ok not very close to any public transport. Generally we were disappointed by our stay."

Transportation is extremely convenient; the main pylon, Reichstag building, Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Cathedral, and Unter den Linden are all within walking distance. Potsdamer Platz and the Memorial to the Jews are also within walking distance. The East Side Gallery and the Berlin Wall are easily accessible by bus. Humboldt University is nearby. There's an Aldi restaurant and a bakery downstairs for quick meals. However, the hotel's Wi-Fi is terrible."
