"The room had a terrible smell. It smelled of an old unwashed man. Dirty carpets, dirty towels, holes in bed linen. Overall cleanliness leaves much to be desired. I appreciate it that after my complaint nice staff gave me a different room, but that new room was smelly as well, I figured it was because of the bad air conditioning system, and I guess old untended carpets also contributed to the problem. In the new room the towels looked clean, but they smelled of fried patties. Overall, it was an awful experience, it was hard to breathe with the air conditioner on as it made the room stinky and humid. That's why I decided to refrain from using it. Luckily, the temperature outside did not exceed +30°C during my stay. This is definitely not a 4-star hotel!!! It barely deserves even 1 star."

"Candlewood Suites Berlin Charlottenburg was an excellent, no-drama stay for a quiet January visit. The lobby and common areas are clean, modern, and genuinely calm. The self service setup works well, and the suites have everything we needed, so it was not an issue if the front desk was not staffed at every moment. One unexpected highlight: the coffee machine. The Flat White option (page 3) is, without exaggeration, the best coffee I have ever had from a “dummy” machine. Smooth, balanced, and actually tastes like a proper flat white. If you want a quiet, practical base in Charlottenburg with a well designed setup, this place delivers."

They are in the midst of renovating/relocating the lounge, based on some posters, so it may improve in the future? Did not allow earlier check in, though they allowed the luggage to be deposited until then. Breakfast spread was good, but no rotation, and same throughout the 4 mornings I stayed. Location is good, near museum island and shopping and historical landmarks."

Breakfast was a highlight — an impressive selection of fresh fruits, pastries, and hot dishes that even picky kids enjoyed. "Well located , easy to access via local transport, bus stop is 2 min from here and S Bahn is 6 min walk. I had a pleasant stay here. People come here for conferences and all. The locality has easy access to supermarket like Aldi and good selection of food and amenities. I didn't have their amenities including breakfast but it appeared scrumptious. The main hall has ample space to relax and a screen was fitted as well especially for watching football world cup. Outside there is estrel theatre where you can book for outdoor performances."

"The room and bathroom were clean. We borrowed a spoon and fork at the front desk, and the staff were nice. The room has air conditioning, but no refrigerator, so be aware of this if you are planning to buy food or late-night snacks and store them in your room. The hotel provides an all-in-one body wash, towels, and a hairdryer. However, you will need to bring your own toothbrush, facial cleanser, and any other personal items you may need. The location was close to the station, making it convenient for sightseeing, and since the station area itself isn't sketchy, it was a comfortable stay. The view from the hotel was nice, and a flea market was held along the way to the station on weekends. The hotel reception offers discount and benefit cards, so I highly recommend it as an affordable place to stay when visiting Berlin."

"Very smart hotel in an amazing location making the whole of Berlin easily accessible by U-Bahn or indeed on foot. Public areas including the lobby are furnished to very high standard. Facilities including the well appointed gym and large thermal suite were very good, especially for a city hotel. For me the only drawbacks were the service levels , there was no greeting when you arrived back despite their often being a doorman around reception , breakfast although in its offering was good was a rather chaotic affair you have to find your own table and then get your own hot drinks which resulted in long lines at the coffee machines , other properties of this standard don’t usually operate in this way. Overall a good option and would definitely stay again however."
