"The hotel is in a great location, convenient for everything. Nearby are shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants, and a large park with barbecue pits and children's play equipment. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had air conditioning, but the bathroom had no windows, so you had to turn on the light. The exhaust fan was a bit noisy when you turned it on, and the bedside lamp seemed to have been dusty and hadn't been cleaned for a while. Still, it was worth it for the price."

"Went there for a meal and catch up with friends as 3 couples. We are locals. We haven't been there since the renovations were done. Nice renovations to the hotel. Excellent live band playing in new outdoor area. Drinks prices are reasonable and staff friendly. The $15 lunch menu during the week is probably ok. Before the renovations, the meals were reasonably priced, great value and a large serves. . BUT. The Dinner menu is expensive, poor to average quality and small. Most of the meals were overdone on our table. Different Kitchen Staff. They are now affiliated with another hotel in the Hunter Valley which is also expensive compared to other local pubs meals. They advertise a Courtesy Bus, but No Bus is running. A major disappointment. Unlikely to go back as locals. We will stick with other pubs and clubs in Cessnock area."

"Trip.com had the description wrong and we ended up with a small queen room. Receptionist could have paid more attention to what I was saying and offered to upgrade us for free or a charge instead of acknowledging there was an issue. Also, vanity drain hole either dirty or stained but otherwise the room was clean."

"Staff service poor. Food average to below average. The kitchen staff don’t know how to make sauces. The lamb shoulder is incorrectly named, what was served was lamb medallions. Three small circles of not particularly nice tasting lamb sitting on top of basically rocket leaves and some peas, way overpriced. Someone needs to re-name that dish to lamb medallions otherwise make sure they serve a proper lamb shoulder as advertised. Not going back."

"So.. this was our first trip with our camper trailer, and it was just so relaxing! Stayed for 2 nights, mid week, it was great. Staff were so great upon check-in and check out. Amenities were clean and pretty central. The pool was the best part, so good after a hot and sticky travel. The Caravan Park was so relaxing and inviting. It's so good to get around so casually. It's definitely in a good spot. It wasn't too busy (at least where we were in the park). The Hunter Valley is so gorgeous, cessnock people are happy and friendly. Will definitely be returning."

Everything is so stylish and thoughtfully designed, it feels like a private escape where the whole world belongs to you. We hardly saw any other people, which made it even more special — just the calming sounds of birds singing around us. This was our second visit, and we will definitely be back again."

"New owners made me feel very welcome. Fresh paint in rooms and a delightful stay in a pub of old world charm. Would recommend for any bird watchers due to its location next to the Conservation area. Also very close to Cessnock for work and food options."
