"Didn't know what to expect as I'd never stayed in a hostel before but was pleasantly surprised! I was made to feel very welcome by all staff members, the place is really big with a big self catering kitchen, bar, large communal areas and games room. The location is stunning too! You have the mountains, and the harbour, as well as the amazing castle, all within walking distance. Would definitely stay again, and would recommend to everyone. Was spotlessly clean too."

"Loved the quirky and eccentric decor. Bed was not a US king, bathroom was tight. Bed was firm, husband really liked that. Breakfast served in room. Host was friendly, greeted us at check in and check out, otherwise was rather hand off. If you don't like a host hovering around you, this is the place to you."

The breakfast was amazing and the recommended restaurants were also delicious. Highly recommended!(A pleasant view taken in front of the house attached)"

We only booked one night as we had actually booked to stay elsewhere and that place had no space for our first night so we decided to just book that first night at The Groes and my word the other place was dissapointing in comparison. Can't wait to come back here."

"Our room was very spacious with a huge bed , 2 comfy chairs & table and a balcony ( also with 2 chairs and a rable) The bathroom was very spacious and spotless Spa facilities were fabulous and included a pool , jacussi , sauna , steam room , infra red spa and an holistic room to relax Breakfast very good and the bar area has beautiful views looking across at Conwy . Caught a train into Llandudno ( under £2) and station is about 6 minutes walk from the hotel You can also walk to Conwy which takes about 25 minutes Would definitely stay there again"

Ruth, John and Amy worked really well together as a team - calm and diligent. The young, presumably student, staff showed initiative and always kept themselves occupied. Bedecked throughout with mid-century curios and collectables - there literally isn't anything in there that isn't themed / styled to their (and our!) taste...... The host Melissa was a delight - and sitting enjoying the delicious contents of the breakfast basket in the shadow of the castle walls was a great way to celebrate our special occasion(s).
