The best room i have ever stayed in Thailand for 30 years ....in its price range , obviously. And including higher categories. Spacious room , big balcony , thoughtful decoration , good bed , nice traditional furniture in a quite good state . Super clean , good cupboard, spaces and drawers to organise things. Everything has a quality appearance.
The building itself is well designed with open corridors and open reception area. Very good pool sorrounded by tropical vegetation . Although located near the main road, it is not noisy at all , with the exception of a few Moto GP drivers in the night .
now comes the BUT ......basically nothing is within walking distance , no shop , no restaurant , no massage , not mentioning the beach . Taxi is very expensive, Grab does not serve the area. Without means of transport , i would have felt quite lost there . Another point are the stray dogs at night in the remote street ...i would not feel good to walk there in the night .

From the moment we arrived at JW Marriott Khao Lak, we were swept into a world of tropical elegance and warm hospitality. Nestled along a pristine stretch of beach, the resort blends traditional Thai charm with modern luxury in the most seamless way.
Our room was spacious, beautifully designed with local accents, and opened directly onto the lagoon pool—yes, the 2.5 km-long pool that winds through the entire resort like a lazy river. Waking up and diving straight into the water was a dream.
The staff were exceptional—always smiling, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant teams, everyone made us feel like VIPs.
Dining was a highlight. From the beachfront seafood BBQ at The Waterfront to the authentic Thai flavors at Ta-Krai, every meal was a delight. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and ambiance made it worthwhile.
We also loved the little touches: the JW Garden where herbs are grown for the kitchen, the serene Quan Spa, and the family-friendly amenities like the kids’ pool and activities. Evenings were magical, with golden sunsets and live music by the beach.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape with world-class service and a touch of Thai soul, JW Marriott Khao Lak is a top-tier choice. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and already planning our return.

The hotel staff were fantastic and room was kept very clean daily. However, the problem is other inconsiderate noisy guests, slamming doors at all hours, dragging chairs along the tiled floor, shouting to each other, so if you like your lie ins forget it. Unfortunately the building is designed that the smallest sound travels all over the building. If you don’t mind sitting on your balcony eating your breakfasts surrounded by many Germans who smoke endlessly it’s fine - not for me I’m afraid, next time I’ll book somewhere more private & quiet.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. Really loved our swim up room. Felt like you had your own private pool.
It was all so spotlessly clean. All the staff were so lovely and friendly. You never passed them without being greeted. The gardens were so well manicured
The choice at breakfast was very varied. You can't possibly complain about the choice, there was something for everyone.
It was my birthday when I was there and the staff gave me a cake and the cleaner did some lovely towel art.
The waters is very much an adult hotel and we felt that all the guests were very respectful of each other.
I really did not want to leave and I do hope that I'll be back in the not too distant future.

Beautiful resort. A little old but the room with access to the pool is great. Breakfast was okay. Pool is huge. Beach is private and clean. Resort offers lots of little activities like beach yoga, water aerobics, cycling! Great options for dinner at the restaurant!

Untuk pergi melancong, saya cadangkan menyewa skuter sejauh 50m yang berharga 200 Bhat sehari, supaya anda boleh pergi ke mana-mana dengan mudah. MMichele VineThis was our second visit, it is by far our favourite hotel in Thailand..
The staff have a way of making each guest feel special.
A big shout out to Kate, who remembered us from our previous visit and gave us the same room.. She went the extra mile when my husband was admitted to Krabi ICU and managed to extend our stay so he could recuperate in a calm environment. ♥️
Always, a special thank you to Tom, Jerry, Nescafé and Tea for making each holiday memorable.
And not forgetting the other incredible staff who makes Little Shore so incredibly special.. without them our stay wouldn’t be the same,

PPaul_HKBeautiful location and hotel grounds are absolutely stunning. On the surface the rooms look good but they are a bit dated with some impractical features and water was dripping from the AC vent. The toilet is semi private which is a bit strange - it sort of connects with the shower area which is not ideal when you are with your partner. Also there are no wardrobe doors even though the shower area is right next to it.
The staff are generally nice and friendly but service is very average for a hotel of this nature compared to other boutique hotels, with staff constantly forgetting things from food or drinks orders at the restaurant.
Flexibility of breakfast was fantastic though and in general the food was excellent. Encountered some issues with room service on our first evening which were resolved promptly the following day.
End of stay was disappointing - we appreciated the hotel were able to extend our check-out by 2 hours to 2pm (and able to use a shower room to get changed later in the day), but they made it abundantly clear that if we wanted the room to 7pm then we would have to pay for another half-day occupancy even though the hotel was definitely not full. If the hotel was at full capacity, we would have completely understood the situation. It all felt a bit ‘budget’ from a 5 star hotel.
To make matters worse, during a rainy and cool afternoon, we ended up killing time on sun-beds on the beach before we could use the their shower room. The bizarre thing was that the shower room turned out to be a different guest room identical to the one we had been staying in. Surely it would have been easier to let us stay in our original room for a few extra hours, it would also have saved the hotel from having to clean two rooms.
Given that we had arrived very late on the first night, it was not like we were trying to take advantage of them and maximise our stay - we were just killing time ahead of our evening flight. It was all quite a weird end and so not sure we’d go back or recommend this hotel even though the setting is incredibly beautiful.
There is a lot of communication provided about the ethos of excellent hospitality while staying in the hotel. This specific action and policy seemed in opposition to these communicated values.

MMaik_AII stayed at Graceland Khaolak Beach Resort during the rainy season, and I have to say — it was a great experience!
Many people think that the rainy season in Thailand is not the best time to visit, but here it was absolutely fine. There were not so many rainy days, and even when it rained, it often passed quickly, leaving the air fresh and the nature even greener.
One of the big advantages of this time of year is the peace and space — fewer tourists, a calmer atmosphere, and more opportunities to enjoy the beach almost to yourself. And of course, the prices during the low season are much more attractive, which makes the stay even more enjoyable.
So if you’ve ever doubted visiting Thailand during the rainy season, I can honestly recommend it — especially here at Graceland Khaolak Beach Resort. You might just discover it’s the perfect time for you!

PPlum31Moracea has a really good location on one of the most picturesque resort beaches in Khao Lak. The rooms are decent, though the resort may be starting to show its age a bit. The only issue we had with our rooms were truly poor pillow quality. We ended up swapping to the lounger pillows and throwing the cases on them instead.
The resort seems to have handled the issue many other reviewers mention about people booking sun loungers way in advance and leaving them ”vacant” for hours. If you're out around 7-9am, you ought to find a nice seat by the beach. Even later would still work.
We had some terrific service in general at Moracea. Staff seemed hospitable and friendly, even by Thai standards. We did feel that restaurants and bars could certainly be improved in general, but not at all related to the staff. The food quality for dinner/lunch was really bland, and we opted to eat out every meal aside from a nice breakfast (which had plenty of variety for our tastes).
We would certainly book again.

However, we were disappointed with our dinner at the Goji restaurant. My son ordered the spare rib. There was not much meat, and the meat was tough.

MMyrkStyrWe (wife, myself and 8 year old son) stayed end of March 2026. The hotel was very nice and the staff was very helpful and placed us in a nice room with King size bed and knew us by name. The bedroom had an ocean view + balcony and comfortable bed that fit all 3 of us. We arrived on a Tuesday when they do a weekly firedance. We really enjoyed the infinity pool at sunset where the pool met the ocean and sky. The staff was willing to drive us by golf cart between the 2 sides of the resort to be able to access the whole resort easily. The restaurant food was tasty as well but only complaint was that it was Italian food and we were in Thailand and wanted to eat Thai food. The included buffet breakfast was wonderful with an array of options for everyone and it changed a bit every day we were there (5 nights). For us, the location was not ideal, as you have to take a taxi to get to the town or restaurants and we ended up finding a couple spots we could walk to near the resort (Memories Beach next door) and a small restaurant walking distance. We were delighted to find that there is an Elephant Sanctuary next door to Aspara, walking distance and visiting the elephants was an amazing experience (1000 THB for 3 people and food/milk to feed the elephants). We did a day snorkel trip to Surin National Park and the location was accessible for the pickup to the port. I was unable to use Grab for food or ride service and when we did use taxi, we used the hotel taxi service, which was a bit more expensive than I wanted. The ride to the airport was 2,500 THB for the 3 of us and our bags arranged by hotel. It was nice knowing that the taxi would be there and it was a private ride with AC and plenty of room. There is a river that divides the two sides of the resort and it passes in front of the hotel into the ocean. We were advised not to swim in the river, so we were a bit concerned when crossing it or to swim in the water that is poured into, but we did swim in the water in front of the Memories Beach just adjacent to Aspara. I would recommend Aspara particularly to folks looking for quiet, and prefer to be away from hustle and bustle of city and who don't mind taking a Tuk Tuk to places they want to visit. Great place to go to if you don't want to leave the resort. I would have preferred to be closer to more restaurants (walking distance) but otherwise, the staff, the grounds, the breakfast, everyone was amazing. Enjoy the photos.

PPithita M.The hotel is very beautiful with a great atmosphere. The layout of each zone is well organized. I stayed here for two nights during a long weekend, and the place was quite crowded since many guests came at the same time. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service from check-in to check-out.
Parking space is limited, but guests can park outside the hotel and use the shuttle service provided. The room was spacious with a large bed. I chose the room with direct pool access — it was amazing! The bathroom was separated into wet and dry zones, and all the amenities were fully provided. There was even a capsule coffee machine for guests — excellent!
The air conditioning system is digital, and there’s also a ceiling fan. Two key cards are provided. The hotel has a fitness room for guests, and there’s a bar by the beach which is perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options.
However, I have a few complaints: the room was quite dusty — when I wiped the table, there was dust on my hand. The pillows, blanket, and bedsheets had a musty smell, as if they hadn’t fully dried. Also, breakfast time felt a bit chaotic because guests had to wait in line, and there were times when plates, spoons, and glasses weren’t restocked quickly enough.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay with just a few small issues that could be improved

The rooms are very clean, modern, and truly meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. Daily housekeeping ensures impeccable cleanliness. The charming bridges connecting different parts of the property add a special touch. Walking across them feels like being in untouched jungles. The beach is well-equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there’s a cozy beachside café nearby where you can have lunch or dinner while enjoying the sea view. The resort’s territory is full of life: you’ll see many butterflies and even friendly monitor lizards wandering around, adding to the tropical paradise vibe.
Cons: Breakfasts could be more varied, especially in terms of fresh pastries.
Good to know: The nearest 7/11 or town café is about a 15-minute walk away (there’s a sidewalk). If you prefer not to walk, a taxi costs 100 baht.
The closest self-service laundry is a 15-minute drive away (400 baht).
Overall, Khaolak Wanaburee Resort is a perfect choice for those looking to relax in harmony with nature while enjoying comfort and quality service. Highly recommended!
