"Good gym, breakfast was varried and delicious. Nearer to the panaroma route. Room floors were dirty, had to clean the floor with the bathroom mat. Not walking distance to hoedspruit proper, will require a paid shuttle. Would have prefer if a free shuttle can be provided by the hotel. Not ideal for visits to kruger national park as it is approx 2 hours to the park. Overall, would recommend as a overnight stop after visiting the panaroma route."

"The lodge itself is beautiful with top notch food, great guides for the safari drives and warm hospitality. You can spot elephants and hippos in the Olifant river from the deck outside the villa and at the restaurant and makes it feel like you're living in the wilderness. Our vegetarian diet was well catered for, the staff will really make you feel at home. The lodge is situated on top of a hill which involved a 30 minute bumpy ride on a non-paved road so it might be best to opt for the hotel pick up and drop. There was however an issue with one of the bathrooms in our villa which could've been handled better."

"The warmth, friendliness and generosity of the staff instantly made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. Musa and Raydene were always available to help us with anything we needed. They made us feel like royalty. The meals were some of the best we’ve ever experienced - kudos to our chef Pretty, who surprised us every day with something different and unique. Our servers Hleziphi and Respond were friendly and attentive and a joy to interact with. Our lodge (cabin 8) was the most luxurious place we’ve ever stayed in. Completely secluded with a view of the valley and trees from our back deck. Our only neighbours were the birds and the animals. Our down time was mostly spent on the back desk or our private pool, soaking in the gorgeous views and the tranquility of the environment. We formed an instant bond with our guides Benjamin and Ally, who were very adept at tracking and spotting the animals. They taught us so much about the animals, including their personalities, quirks and behaviours. We enjoyed their company every day, formed lasting bonds with them and had a lot of great laughs sharing jokes and memories. We always enjoyed our picnic breaks, when we would relax, have great conversations, tell jokes and simply enjoy each other’s company. The housekeeping staff were friendly, funny and kept our villa spotless and well stocked with towels, beer, whatever we needed. Our 5-night stay was over before we knew it. We were sad to say goodbye and will cherish the memories and lasting bonds we formed with everyone during our stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again."

"From the minute we arrived we knew we’d picked a good one. The welcome, the accommodation, the food (which was endless and delicious) and our amazing driver and tracker, Rifos and Patrick who found us all the big 5 and so much more. Happy to share their knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend a visit to Chisomo but if you go in winter be prepared for the cold mornings. Hat, gloves, scarf are essential, thermals a bonus, it really is that cold before the sun comes up. Took a day trip to Kruger which was a totally different experience. Great to see the animals far and wide on the African plains but driving around on the tarmac roads (unable to leave the vehicles) it just lacked the personal feel that you get in Karongwe. Here you drive on tracks through the bush and are allowed to exit the vehicles for tea and coffee stops made by the fantastic guides. Don’t hesitate to book Chisomo if you want an authentic safari experience."

"We absolutely loved our stay at Munga! Unfortunately, we were only there for two nights — but we definitely could have stayed much longer. The warm welcome from the lovely couple who owns the place was truly exceptional. They gave us fantastic tips for our trip, including a great restaurant recommendation for when we arrived in Cape Town. We were greeted with a delicious homemade dinner that really felt like a comforting meal at home — just what we needed after a long journey. Breakfast was also wonderful, fresh and full of flavor. The location is excellent, and the room's infrastructure was perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the showers were amazing, and everything was thoughtfully designed. We would recommend Munga to anyone looking for a special, warm, and well-located place to stay. It was truly memorable, and we hope to return someday!"

"We arrived after an 5 hours drive from Johannesburg and stayed for 4 nights at the lodge. We visited twice the Kruger park which I can highly recommend to do as early as possible especially during summer time in Africa. And we had a private game drive close to the lodge. Both ca be organised at the lodge or you choose someone else and they pick you up. To the Kruger park it’s a 45-60 min ride per car. The lodge itself is great! The room was superb and big with all amenities you need and the provide always free bottle of drinking water. Breakfast and dinner was also good and I would recommend the dinner there. Fabian and his stuff are great and always helpful. We had a nice stay there and I would absolutely recommend it in case you are in this area or like to spend a night or more close to the Kruger park. Not to forget; the lodge is an private resort/ compound and therefor super safe. You will find other shops or restaurants outside at the main road."

We have now stayed there twice, and will again on our next visit to Phalaborwa. If you want a place that is both comfortable and convenient for all that surrounds you, then choose ISO Bella Vita Guess House."
