Friendly staff and centrally located. Free breakfast for that price definitely the deal breaker. No hesitation to recommend it to anybody stopping over at Morwell or even nearby towns.

We have stayed at this hotel many times before and, while the rooms weren't fantastic, they still met our needs. On our latest visit, however, the story changed for the worst. We were told the rooms were being upgraded, and we did see the walls were painted in the bathroom. However, the painter must have been in a hurry as paint dripped onto the skirting board and floor in the bathroom. In the corner where they had tea and coffee, there was no light. The power point was on the other side of the room, which was very dangerous. There were only a couple of sachets for coffee and bags for tea, a lot less than last time.

I have travelled extensively around Australia and this motel has to be one of the best I have stayed in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The meals in the restaurant are excellent. The rooms are very comfortable. The motel is within easy walking distance to the original shopping centre which has many restaurants and take-away food outlets. It also is only about 800m from the RSL. If you are visiting Morwell for work or just an overnight stay, I recommend you stay at the Cedar Lodge.
