From the moment we arrived on a wet and windy afternoon we were transported to total relaxation & amazing hospitality. We arrived hungry so had tea & sandwiches in the lounge beside a roaring log fire. Sandwiches were absolutely delicious (we chose prawn & blt). After dragging ourselves away from the log fire, we went upstairs to our bedroom which was lovely. Very nicely decorated with all the amenities you would expect. Penhaligon toiletries were a luxury treat. Dinner & Breakfast were tasty & sitting in the conservatory for a pre dinner drink was cosy (lovely wool blankets in a basket if you want a bit of extra heat) but the stars of the weekend for us were definitely the staff. They were exceptional. Very professional & efficient while still maintaining a friendliness. We were given a map of the island by staff & had a great walk looking for eagles, deer etc. (Wellingtons available at reception) We walked to otter point & were lucky enough to see otters playing in the water. Other wildlife stayed hidden. We had been to Isle of Eriska a few years ago & although lovely, we felt it looked a bit tired and in need of some decorating. It now looks superb. The new owners have clearly invested lots of money refurbishing the hotel and it definitely shows. Not at all surprised celebrities escape to this lovely hotel/island. Thank You Isle of Eriska for a lovely weekend. We will be back.

Nice clean hotel situated about 19 miles south of the town of Oban. Spectacular views down the Loch. Nice friendly initial welcome from a Hungarian gent staffer. Clean, well appointed room. Nice airy dining room with a great view down the Loch. Food was good but as is customary these days an over large fish portion was served. One of the best fish restaurants we patronise sensibly offers the option of large and small fish portions an idea which should be considered more widely. Staff attentive apart from the lady who wanted us to go to the bar for a drink because we were five minutes early for our dinner booking or we would have to sit at our table and wait ! We happily sat at the table for said five minutes which was not excessive . Wine price extortionate again as is customary these days. Two small glasses 175 cl came in around £24.00. Overall a good experience which I will certainly consider repeating with nice,attentive staff apart from the lady in charge of the dining area who thankfully was an exception.

The Glenview was an okay stop for one night but I don’t think I would choose to stay again. The property is on a main road, road noise wasn’t an issue, and looks a bit dated both inside and out. The owners were friendly and the service was good. The food was good and there was plenty of choice. The biggest issue was the bed which was not very comfortable at all, both of us had an aching back the next morning as well as not having the best nights sleep.

I think I’ve stayed in quite a few of the Oban hotels over the years. Sometimes on business, sometimes leisure. My main impression of the hotels were that were mainly very poor value for money. Some of the tariffs were ridiculous and the rooms were quite basic for the cost. So this time I stayed at the Premier Inn for the first time. Must be fairly new. Great value compared to other central hotels - probably about half the price to what I’ve paid previously. I thought there was no comparison. It’s central right beside the train station and ferry terminal, the rooms are big, clean comfortable and modern with a big wall mounted telly. In addition it has a great shower. The public area was nice and bright. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. Some guests might say it’s too modern but that’s exactly what wins it for me. If you want “character” you’ll pay double the price and your room might not be up to much. Just saying…,

Nice clean hotel situated about 19 miles south of the town of Oban. Spectacular views down the Loch. Nice friendly initial welcome from a Hungarian gent staffer. Clean, well appointed room. Nice airy dining room with a great view down the Loch. Food was good but as is customary these days an over large fish portion was served. One of the best fish restaurants we patronise sensibly offers the option of large and small fish portions an idea which should be considered more widely. Staff attentive apart from the lady who wanted us to go to the bar for a drink because we were five minutes early for our dinner booking or we would have to sit at our table and wait ! We happily sat at the table for said five minutes which was not excessive . Wine price extortionate again as is customary these days. Two small glasses 175 cl came in around £24.00. Overall a good experience which I will certainly consider repeating with nice,attentive staff apart from the lady in charge of the dining area who thankfully was an exception.

Beautiful Victorian house with comfortable rooms and luxurious modern bathrooms. The room had charming decorations and a comfortable bed, and even included a floor-standing fan, which was a huge relief when the day we stayed turned out to be unusually warm. The owners were nice, friendly people. The location is great, just a little up the hill from the train station, ferry terminal, and city center of Oban, on a quiet residential street. Be warned that the rooms are all upstairs, so you will need to carry your luggage up. On the plus side, there is a cozy guest lounge upstairs with a great view over the bay.

I think I’ve stayed in quite a few of the Oban hotels over the years. Sometimes on business, sometimes leisure. My main impression of the hotels were that were mainly very poor value for money. Some of the tariffs were ridiculous and the rooms were quite basic for the cost. So this time I stayed at the Premier Inn for the first time. Must be fairly new. Great value compared to other central hotels - probably about half the price to what I’ve paid previously. I thought there was no comparison. It’s central right beside the train station and ferry terminal, the rooms are big, clean comfortable and modern with a big wall mounted telly. In addition it has a great shower. The public area was nice and bright. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. Some guests might say it’s too modern but that’s exactly what wins it for me. If you want “character” you’ll pay double the price and your room might not be up to much. Just saying…,

From the moment we arrived on a wet and windy afternoon we were transported to total relaxation & amazing hospitality. We arrived hungry so had tea & sandwiches in the lounge beside a roaring log fire. Sandwiches were absolutely delicious (we chose prawn & blt). After dragging ourselves away from the log fire, we went upstairs to our bedroom which was lovely. Very nicely decorated with all the amenities you would expect. Penhaligon toiletries were a luxury treat. Dinner & Breakfast were tasty & sitting in the conservatory for a pre dinner drink was cosy (lovely wool blankets in a basket if you want a bit of extra heat) but the stars of the weekend for us were definitely the staff. They were exceptional. Very professional & efficient while still maintaining a friendliness. We were given a map of the island by staff & had a great walk looking for eagles, deer etc. (Wellingtons available at reception) We walked to otter point & were lucky enough to see otters playing in the water. Other wildlife stayed hidden. We had been to Isle of Eriska a few years ago & although lovely, we felt it looked a bit tired and in need of some decorating. It now looks superb. The new owners have clearly invested lots of money refurbishing the hotel and it definitely shows. Not at all surprised celebrities escape to this lovely hotel/island. Thank You Isle of Eriska for a lovely weekend. We will be back.

A great location and a perfect view from the hotel room that we had. The service was good, a great breakfast and a nice pint of beer. All in all, this is a recommend and it did take us by surprise how decent it was for our one night stay.
