"The location of the hotel is good, easy access from main road to get big bags to it and also to go around the ancient city both during day and night time to enjoy all the landmarks. Missing signages make it a bit difficult to find the hotel at first. Also, while we had paid for a bigger rooms the room barely had walking space. It had no luggage storage space or cabinet. The washroom and room floor was not cleaned. Staff on the other hand are very friendly and willing to help with all the questions - on local travel, places to see, vegetarian food, etc. They find a way to help to the best. All in all was a good experience and would have been better with some adjustments."

"The hotel offered good value for the price, with decent facilities and a high level of cleanliness. The location was convenient for drop-off and walking into the city, which felt easygoing. I wasn't particularly keen on breakfast options, but maybe my taste and that did offer a western option that we didn’t try. Overall, it was a great experience for the cost & the staff Helen & Fenny were very helpful and made our trip easy and seamless."

"I initially booked for one night but I decided to stay for another night. Total two nights in the same room. Room is very clean, very quiet and the bed was superb, I slept very well. Staff super friendly and helpful. Hotel's location is about 10mins taxi from the old town centre but it is very convenient. If you don't like super crowded area with noisy street vendors and many tourists, I would recommend this place. I personally really enjoyed staying at this hotel, will definitely stay here again if I come back to Datong in future."

"Ive just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed. The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived. 2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up. 3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed. "Good location, quiet and comfortable room with views of the city gate. Was asked all kinds of questions when checking in (where I was going, what I was travelling for, where I was coming from and how I got to Datong. They even asked to see my train ticket!). Being interrogated on arrival doesn't feel very friendly, and nowhere else in Datong or other parts of China was I asked these questions."

"來過大同很多次了，從來都衹住連鎖酒店，怕民宿衞生不過關，但是無意中發現的這家民宿真是太讓人驚喜了，衞生很乾凈，設施很新！很安靜！房間不大，但是處處都體現出了老闆的用心！我是個有潔癖的人，重點還是衞生真的很乾凈！老闆和前台服務人員也很熱情，可以説是有求必應了！緊臨代王府．門口就有電動車可以租，很方便！八歲兒子超級喜歡！下次有機會再來大同，一定還會光顧！"

"The Wyndham Grand is spectacular. Rooms were fantastic, and the buffet was immense in luxurious surroundings. The service by staff in the restaurant was exemplary as however busy it was the staff were incredibly personable and helpful. 5 star experience."
