"If you are planning a visit to Tomar, consider this newly renovated, boutique hotel! Located within walking distance to nearby shops and cafes, it is situated on an island with views of the surrounding river. It is absolutely lovely!! We had a regular room with a balcony outfitted with comfy lounge furniture. The room is beautifully decorated with walnut floors, a modern bathroom, and very comfortable bed. My spouse completed two zoom meetings from the desk comfortably. Included are my two favorites—robes and slippers! The bathroom has a large makeup mirror and LED lighting. It’s modern, efficient, and beautifully designed. We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights. The service is impeccable. If you are fortunate to have George or Francisco as your waiters, ask for their recommendations. We enjoyed both dinners. Breakfast is similar—amazing offerings for a day of sight seeing. The hotel has a small spa. After climbing, walking, and driving, we took advantage of the sauna and hydrotherapy pool. Just ask for the required swim cap to go along with the large towels provided in the room. TripAdvisor photos are no longer accurate. Check out the pics I’ve added and look at the hotel website. We had a wonderful stay in Tomar!"

"My husband and I just returned from a month in Portugal. In that month, we stayed at eight different hotels. By far our favourite hotel was hotel Republic at Tomar. What makes this hotel so special is the personalized service from the staff. Without exception, every staff member was so warm and welcoming, and would go out of their way to accommodate your every request. By the time we left, we felt like they were family. We also had the opportunity to meet the owners of the hotel and they are warm and welcoming people and obviously said a high standard for their hotel. The hotel is in an excellent centralized location. We highly recommend this hotel."

"We had a fantastic night's stay and rest at Tomar story. It was extremely clean and the room was decorated beautifully. We loved the themed aspect of our room and the window and view of the river was beautiful. The hotel staff were lovely and looked after our luggage outside of the check in / checkout times. Tomar is a brilliant riverside town and the visit to the Castle and Church of Christ to see the Knights Templar headquarters has been the highlight of our Portuguese tour."

"Gorgeous hotel with many historical architectural features, dramatic artwork, plush touches. We were a little sad to have only one night here- so we couldn’t explore all the details (including the spa!). The staff were exceptional- at reception & again when they immediately brought ice to our room for the teen who slightly sprained her ankle 20 minutes before arriving- and again just before we left in the morning. Breakfast had many offerings to choose from. The rooms were very clean- beds very firm. The pool area is so beautiful! Be aware that there are some long connecting halls between areas- and some room sections have a few stairs after using the elevator — normally no problem but was challenging for our ankle sore teen— so people with mobility issues should talk directly to the hotel to see what room section might work best for them."

"Under new management since June, I found this small, yet elegant Hotel when looking for Hotels with Spa to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both loved the experience and were able to deeply relax and enjoy our short getaway. With a small interior and exterior swimming pool, water circuit and sauna the facilities, here we've experienced one of the best customer services we've had in all of our travels and hotels. From the cleaning staff, to the host, to the manager. All welcoming, thoughtful and sensitive to our needs. Furthermore the hotel is nicely located in the heart of Tomar, only a walking distance from the center and from most relevant places to visit. We ended our getaway planning to return."

"Excellent hotel in the best location in Tomar, right in the beautiful square. We spent 2 days at that hotel and we absolutely loved our experience. Hotel is small and intimate; service is outstanding; room was very nicely appointed with high quality finishes; the bed was very comfortable with highest quality linens; great bathroom in marble; the breakfast buffet and a la carte options were great. The owners were on-site when we visited and made us feel welcome. We ate at the hotel restaurant at night and we found the food very good and the ambiance cosy. Tomar is a very interesting place with lots of history, it is also very well located between Lisbon and Porto. I would definitely stay there again if in the area."

"This cute apartment was an easy 10 minute walk from the train station. It is in a great neighborhood and is very secure. The building does not have an elevator so expect one or two flights of stairs. The apartment itself was clean and furnished with excellent amenities. The washer was so handy after two weeks of travel. The beds were comfortable and both the bedding and towels were high quality. The location was superb with an easy walk to all that Tomar has to offer. Three different grocery stores are nearby as well. Thank you Flattered for a great stay!"
