"Pulled into Trapani in a rented Fiat Panda (which roars like a lawnmower with ambition) and checked into the Giardino Mon Plaisir. First impression: very well priced, clean, and run with a certain understated nobility. That’s no coincidence—the owner is a direct descendant of the historic Pepoli family, whose museum sits just one block away. If you’re into history, you’re basically sleeping in the family’s backyard. We were greeted by Alessandro, who deserves a medal in cross-cultural hospitality. He explained everything with style—from why the main door must be closed at night (cats are sneaky) to how our room key card also doubles as the opener for the massive garage door. Pro tip: just trust whatever Alessandro tells you, you’ll be fine. The breakfast is excellent and very well attended. They’ll make you whatever you want—scrambled eggs, bacon, or anything else—and the coffee comes exactly how you like it, from espresso to cappuccino to a tall Americano. The yard is nicely appointed, perfect for relaxing after you’ve sweated out some cannoli calories. There’s no gym on-site, but Dino’s Gym nearby does the trick if you need to prove you can still bench more than your luggage. Our room was directly behind the front desk—functional, but with zero view unless you count the back of the reception wall. The mattress could use an upgrade to memory foam, because my back remembered every spring. Bathroom was solid: good water pressure, shower cabin a decent size, everything worked. All in all, it’s a charming little spot with character, history, and fair pricing. If you want a gym in-house, stay somewhere else—but if you’re happy with old-school Sicilian hospitality, hearty breakfasts, and the noble guidance of Alessandro, Giardino Mon Plaisir will do the job (Panda rental optional)."

"We spent 4 nights in Trapani at Kantune B&B. The accommodations are in the heart of this seaside town, easy walking distance to everything in the area. Have to offer high praise to our host Salvatore - he goes above and beyond to ensure not only do you have all the information needed to enjoy the local area, but treats every guest like Family. Much appreciate the our ride to the bus accommodating all our luggage. Breakfast was served on a rooftop patio weather permitting and Sal personally attended to ensuring you had everything you needed. Rooms were very comfortable, a full size fridge was available in the kitchen for any food or drink storage and each room had its own bathroom facilities. Max four couples can stay at one time so makes the experience more quaint and comfortable - thank you Salvatore!"

"I booked a 4 night stay (half board), for some peace and relaxation. I was slightly concerned about the rural location as I didn’t have a car. Communication before arrival was great, with emails and messages sent, confirming my booking and airport transfers. I received a very warm welcome on arrival. My room (country view) was lovely. All staff were very helpful throughout my stay, assisting me with booking trips and arranging a taxi with Andrea, who was also very kind and helpful. Food and wine was amazing; the waiters helped me with my choices, made recommendations and offered to alter dishes to meet my (vegetarian) preference. This was my first trip to Sicily and also my first trip travelling alone. I am so pleased I chose to make it here, as everyone was so kind and friendly and all my needs were accommodated. The area is interesting to visit and I hope to return one day with my family."
