Hotel Villa Paola

"I very much enjoyed my recent stay at this hotel, except for a couple issues that I mentioned to the team. The property itself is beautiful, with clean and quiet rooms, and a great location only about 15/20 minutes (walking) into town (although maybe not to walk at night given there aren't sidewalks or walking lanes). The food was fantastic - especially the breakfast with multiple options to choose from each morning. Thanks to Emma and Maria for always being so kind and welcoming. I appreciated the attention to my dietary needs as well. They were excellent. I loved the pool. At first, given that it wasn't very large I wasn't sure it would be so peaceful with other guests there as well. But, I luckily had it all to myself for a few hours on a couple days. Swimming and smelling the lovely flowers was just what I needed. The hotel also overlooks their farm or garden, and they use the produce in their kitchens. You can walk down from the hotel through it to get to the beaches. It's a bit strenuous to walk back up, so maybe see about a shuttle. I was concerned about a hygienic issue that occurred in the dining area one evening, which I expressed to the team, so hopefully it has been addressed. Thanks to Sara, Camilla, Catia, Deborah and Michela. There were a few instances where I wasn't sure if my questions or concerns were being disregarded, but I think it was more a matter of the language barrier. Couple things to note: -The private car transfer from the Lamezia Terme train station is 120 euros. -They do offer laundry services for a cost. -I had some trouble with receiving a response via email before I arrived. I had to ask their sister hotel to help with the connection. Then everything went smoothly. Overall, a lovely stay."

"A bit pleasantly surprised, the hotel facilities are good, with its own underground garage, suitable for driving, the hotel is in a good location, across the street from the restricted area, it is very convenient to step into the old town for sightseeing. Originally I chose to stay in Tropea for the convenience of the ferry to Sicily the next day, I didn't expect the town to be worth a visit!"

"What a fantastic place! Francesco was so friendly and helpful, he upgraded me to a sea view room with a lovely balcony and a view of the mountains, sea and morning sun. Lovely en suite and everything super clean. I was able to use the kitchen to make a cup of tea which was great, and the breakfast cappuccino was lovely. "We had the most wonderful time staying at Rocca della Sena. The view from the terrace was incredible and was such a lovely place to be able to sit during sunset. Breakfast was very good and there were lots of options to choose from, including fresh nduja which is local to the area. The staff were probably the best part of the stay, though. They were so kind and generous with their time, always asking if they could provide recommendations for dinner or activities in the area, and made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tropea. We honestly have no negative feedback to provide!"
