"Room was spacious, good and clean. The only thing was that the reception hours need to be communicated properly. We arrived at least half hour before the stated closing hours but already no one there. As we booked through trip.com, we didn’t receive the instructions to the safe where they dropped all the keys for « late » guests. But obviously we weren’t even late as mentioned, we arrived before the reception closing hours. Thankfully we met a gentleman who had the safe’s access code and we were able to retrieve our room keys"

"This hotel is definitely dining out on its good location and the fact that it is a beautiful old historic building. We do not understand the five star rating. There was no air conditioning in our room which made for an uncomfortable night in mid August. The staff knew it wasn’t working but pretended it was. As soon as I raised the issue, they said that it works best at the 20 degree rather than 16 degree temperature setting. The aircon unit didn’t produce cooled air but just acted as a fan. Each time I raised the issue of the aircon, the staff pretended it worked and then got annoyed with me for suggesting the room was not worth what we paid for it. The water flow rate was so slow that the bath literally took 40 minutes to run. There was no proper shower option (just a handheld shower over the bath which trickled water out). There was no fridge in the room. Just a small bottle of water, kettle and teas. The breakfast wasn’t worth the money charged for it - very little choice. I see that the manager of the hotel has been sending for a couple of years now a stock response to poor reviews saying that they are sorry for the experience and will look to improve things. I can assure you that things have not improved!"

"A great B&B. Room was large and modern, but in keeping with style of buliding. Large, comfortable bed and a very large bathroom with a great walk in shower. Private, secure parking. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. They accommodated us with an early check-in. Excellent breakfast. A great place to stop over for a little bit of luxury after all that driving!"

"The hotel's location near pedestrian and shopping streets makes it easy to get around on foot. The bedding was comfortable, and the room was clean. It's a shame the ceiling covering clashes a bit with the rest of the room (giving it a somewhat dated look). The availability of drinks and cakes at any time, as well as the "aperitivo," were a welcome bonus during our stay and much appreciated. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. "We booked this hotel at the last minute on Trip.com. We were driving from Geneva to the tunnel at Calais. We arrived around 7 pm. There was a very helpful lady on the reception who gave us all the information we needed for a very pleasant stay. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was also very clean with clean towels and everything was spotless. I can definitely recommend staying here if you are travelling through Troyes. "
