Плюсы отеля: - располагается напротив 7/11 и ночного рынка, в 15 минутах от пляжа; - приветливый сотрудник на ресепшн; - просторный номер и ванная комната, есть шкаф, сейф, холодильник, кондиционер, кресла, журнальный стол, телевизор, чайник с чаем и кофе, вода, большая кровать, в ванной гель для душа, мыло, шампунь, зубной набор; - несмотря на расположение у дороги, относительно неплохо, можно отдохнуть, шум слышно не сильно. Минусы отеля: - очень жёсткая кровать и неудобные подушки; - впервые за сотни бронирований столкнулись с тем, что за дополнительное одеяло в номер попросили доплату 200 бат в сутки. Для меня из-за жёсткой кровати отель не выполнил свою основную задачу - расслабиться и хорошо поспать. 2 ночи без нормального сна. Плюс странная история с одеялом точно не про сервис.

We had a very good 4 day break here. We rented a bungalow which was roomy with its own terrace. Good sized double bed, fridge, great shower room and a huge bath. The setting is gorgeous, the other side of the road from a deserted beach - but no sun beds. Water ways and a lake surround it and makes you feel as though you are in the rainforest. Beautiful - if it was cleaned up. Therein lies the problem. The whole place needs a refurbishment and the gardens/grounds need to be a lot tidier. It was probably OK before Covid and I sympathise with them, but for the money it should be a lot better. The breakfast was ok but not worth looking to eat there in the evening. Having said that there are four great restaurants outside within 100 yards. All the staff were wonderful and very helpful - English not their strong point but you can get by OK. It is a long way from Khao Lak so you need a car/bike. The area is well worth spending some time around, especially Takua Pa Old Town. The Tsunami museums are not great but still a must visit. We did enjoy our stay but feel that with a lot more effort the place would be really buzzing again. Would we go back? Possibly - as we loved the area and you could get a great dinner at the Mercure Resort (or the Meridien) if you wanted to push the boat out - as we did for my wife’s birthday on 8th February.

We were looking for the perfect tropical island, a paradise with few tourists and village-life. We finally found what we were looking for in Koh Yao Noi. The locals of Koh Yao Noi were some of the friendliest we had come across in Thailand. For a country that’s full of welcoming, warm people, that’s really saying something. Then it was Dan’s Koyao Retreat and the great host. Sin and the ladies took such a great care of us. It felt like we were staying in a home. Luckily we were alone during our stay. They offer three villas tucked away in the greenery, a private pool with a fantastic view and is visited by all kinds of birds, including hornbills. There are a handful of great restaurants and a beach at walking distance, and scooters and bikes are provided to explore the rest of the island. Service includes breakfast and afternoon tea, and they can organize fantastic massages, other meals and activities on request. We travel a lot and this is the best place we´ve ever stayed at. We will never forget the sunrise, the sounds and the views, the atmosphere and the warm hospitality. We will be back.

According to Google the Thiwson Beach Resort is a 4 star resort, by definition this means it needs to offer a deluxe guest experience with a wide range of facilities, superior design qualities and excellent service. Based on this definition I felt it fell short of the mark and is a 3 star hotel at best, having said that, I absolutely loved it hence the high rating. At the time of writing #kohyaoyai only has a handful of resorts and guesthouses to choose from, i researched them carefully, my essentials being air conditioning & swimming pool in the mid range price bracket, my wish list being a characterful locally owned property on a beach. With the @thiwsonbeach I struck gold. This unpolished gem offered everything on my wish list plus more. Owned by a local family, three generations of whom regularly join the guests for dinner in the open air restaurant which serves very tasty reasonable priced Thai food and great chicken nuggets to the delight of my toddler (albeit they were out of fries for the duration of our stay!). Beside this are the beachfront huts are in prime position with their own outdoor jacuzzi, it’s no wonder they book up so far in advance. There are facilities on site to hire scooters or book tours to explore the island and two lovely pool areas. I was initially disappointed with the hilltop location of our own bungalow which are actually across the road from the others, but the quiet semi private pool area in front of our large veranda anf the sunrise view through the frangipani trees buckled my reservations. Our family suite was made up of 2 interconnecting rooms, including an extra bed charge charge & 3% credit card levy cost us €150 per night. The resort isn’t perfect, there are holes in the concrete (my little girl took a nasty fall in one) & bugs in the rooms (to the delight of my 9 year old boy), there is no room service and while there is sand the sea is separated from the resort with a concrete flood barrier & is extremely tidal so not ideal for swimming but for me character trumps perfection every time so I would return again in a heartbeat💖

Ich hatte mit einem guten Freund einen Aufenthalt von vier Nächten. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig mit einem Balkon zur Straße. Da 200m vom Hotel ein Markt mit einer großen Bühne war der von 17pm-23pm ging, war es abends ein wenig lauter( man hatt den Bass leicht gehört). Die Straße hatt man mit geschlossenen Türen garnicht gehört(Klimaanlage hat gut funktioniert). Das Badezimmer war mit einer halboffenen Dusche Shampoo ausgestattet. Mann hat jeden Tag Wasser und frische Handtücher bekommen. Das Hotel hatt im Hinterhof auch einen kleinen Pool der bis 8pm geöffnet ist und absolut ausreichend ist. Die Rezeption war auch 24 Stunden offen. Um Ausflüge zu machen empfehle ich 50m weiter einen Roller zu leihen der 200 Bhat pro Tag gekostet hat, damit kommen sie überall ganz leicht hin. Ich kann dieses Hotel wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Ich komme wieder

We stayed 2 weeks in this hotel. We had a family suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Hotel is tidy, rooms are comfy. Both bedrooms were large. Good value for money. The breakfast, you are given a note, where you choose one dish. American breakfast ( 2 fried eggs, 2 slices of sausage, two small sausages, tomato and cucumber slices and toast, omelet, same content as previous. Fitness breakfast: cereal, yoghurt, fruits. Fried rice. Pork porridge. Coffee, tea, milk, water Ang orange juice. Pool area. Peaceful area.

The room was clean and nicely renovated with daily maid service, coffee and tea making facilities and good efficient air conditioning. The bathroom was a little dated but had a good warm shower and toilet. There was a small pool and a few sun beds but no parasols or protection from the sun. We had breakfast which was very basic. The staff cooked the eggs at 7 o’clock but they were not kept warm. Breakfast choice was limited to toast, cornflakes, fruit, eggs and fried rice every other day. The pool seemed to open late at night because at weekend it looked like some of the staffs teenagers were frolicking in the pool past 10 o’clock so it was quite noisy and hard to sleep. The price was good for this hotel and it was across the road from all the bars and restaurants. The beach would be a 20 minute walk away and there are many hotels nearer to the sea.

amazing place combining everything that is best on the island, lots of nature which is everywhere. Beautiful large houses with an amazing view of the pool and the sea. I recommend it to everyone who wants to relax in an extraordinary quiet place, we will definitely come back there

ก่อนอื่นต้องบอกเลยว่า เสริชชื่อปุ้บ จะเจอโฮสเทวนี้เป็นอันดับแรกๆ เรารีบไปธุระที่ตะกั่วป่า เพื่อนแนะมาว่า เคยไปพัก ดีอยู่นะ แต่ต้องเลือก. บังเอิญว่าเราได้เป็นห้องสุดท้าย เลยไม่มีสิทธิ์เลือก. ไปถึงตกใจห้องเล็กมาก มากไปกว่านั้น พื้นสกปรก พวกเราเอาทิชชู้เปียกถูพื้น ดำปี๋ เลยคะ. เครื่องทำน้าอุ่นก็พัง. ต้องกดๆๆที่ตัวเครื่องให้แน่นถึงจะติดไฟ. ตอนอาบน้ำก็กลัวว่าไฟจะดูดอีกเลยรีบอาบแล้วนอน อ่างล้างหน้าท่อด้านล่างไม่มี. เขาเอาถังน้ำมารองรับ. เปิดน้ำที น้ำไหลลงถัง. เพลียคะ. มาถึงตอนนอนพยายามทนนอน. มันนอนไม่หลับจริงๆ ผื่นขึ้นตัว. คันทั้งตัวไม่ไหว. เลยรีบย้ายไปที่อื่น. ที่ใหม่เหมือนสวรรค์มาโปรด. สะอาด ใหม่มาก. ราคาแค่ 899 บาท ที่นี่ 550 บาท ไม่เหมาะกับราคานี้จริงๆคะ.

Purana has a lot of positives: very nice staff, excellent restaurant and comfortable clean rooms. There are also some negatives: 1) the resort is built on a hillside so there are steps and hills everywhere: to access the restaurant, to get down to the ”beach”, to get to the pool. If mobility is an issue, this is a problem. 2) it is isolated from the ”action” and the best beaches, which are on the other side (eastern) of the island. Unless you can ride a moped, you are stuck at a resort with no real beach A pet peeve of mine is when the room safe is not secured to the wall or to a cabinet, making it useless as it can easily fit into a backpack and be opened off-site. When I asked the front desk to have someone secure the safe, they refused to do it because it would put holes in the cupboard. Consequently, we had to carry our passports and money with us the whole time. What ever happened to the motto ”the customer is always right”?
