The staff were welcoming and friendly. Dinushka Goonathalake looked after us very well. Having stayed for a conference a previous week we were most appreciative of a lovely room opening onto the park overlooking the bay on our return from adventuring in Arnem Land. Our room was always fresh and light, the bathroom modern. We appreciated access to open air from the small balcony. A good variety of teas was provided. The atmosphere was relaxed, suiting Darwin's tropical feel. Freshly prepared breakfast on the terrace or indoors and excellent coffee available if desired. Easily accessible morning & evening walks in the park along the bay to town and nearby restaurants was an added bonus.

We stayed here for 6 nights in an apartment. The first apartment we were in, was very nice modern, and a good size, the couch though was very low and uncomfortable to sit on, it was a click clack lounge. We also found the whole place was very dirty, the cleanliness was disgusting. There were dirty marks on the walls and cupboards, the floor was dirty, and the skirting boards have never been cleaned, the bedside tables were dirty, as was the drawers, I wiped them all down before putting our stuff in them, the bathroom cupboard had dead baby cockroaches in it, and smelt very strongly of insect spray. The bed was comfortable, but made a terrible noise when getting into it. The air conditioner in the lounge, did not work, because it was a public holiday they could not get an electrician, we were offered another room, which was a little smaller, so we said we would wait to the next day for the electrician, next day the electrician could not come, so one of the workers came and said he would clean it, after being cleaned, it still didn’t work, so we were offered another room, which we took. This apartment was bigger than the last, again it was very nice, they are modern, it’s a shame they are not cleaned and looked after. The same lounge, a click clack lounge, which is not comfy and too low. The floor next to the bed was disgusting, there was like orange juice or something orange and sticky, and also on the bedside table, so I cleaned that, but there was lots of dust balls on the floor and behind the curtains, the bathroom had mildew around the taps and sink hole, and around the toilet was not cleaned properly. there were dirty food marks around the dishwasher. The walls had dirty marks on them, and the skirting boards were also dirty. There is a laundry in the apartment, which was good. As for room service, I think we got it once the whole time we were there, and that was, replace our towels and empty the bin, the tea and coffee or the bathroom items were not replaced or refilled either. There were no blankets in the room, just a sheet on the bed, so we had to ask for a blanket. The noise in the corridors carry, Then there’s the staff at the reception desk ; there were a few different staff there each time we went, which were all not very courteous, and impolite. There is secure parking, but that comes at a cost also on top of your accommodation costs. The good thing is , the hotel is central, and walking distance to the mall, and supermarket across the road, and restaurants nearby. The downside is definitely the cleanliness , there is none. Very unhygienic.

We stayed at Doubletree Esplanade Darwin (116) for 11 days. We booked there for the location and the pool. That did not disappoint. The pool is the best in the area. The bar and restaurant are an attraction too. We had opportunity to eat there after 12 hour days on tour. We were grateful for the good service and food. As a mature couple we also enjoyed drinks by the pool. As walkers we found it extremely easy due to the location to enjoy the Mitchell st eateries and the local sights. We were however disappointed that our “ Double Guest Plus - HIGHER FLOOR - Water/ocean views” room was a double room on the second floor. At least we weren’t near the lifts but with the late flights into Darwin other guests could be noisy arriving and departing at night. The room was not as clean as we expected and we did need to request a clean replacement towel on the first day due to a dirty one being folded and left in our bathroom. The reception staff were helpful when we requested robes, toilet paper and new towels. Having stayed at a Doubletree in Los Angeles before we had high expectations. That this was in Darwin and was expensive in comparison to places we have stayed in at Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore we did feel disappointed. Overall we would probably choose to stay there again as the staff attempted to address most issues.

The hotel is close to the Marra Stadium and Airport. It has a free shuttle to the airport. The room was nice with comfy bed, nice TV that I watched the Collingwood versus Greater Western football game on edge as for the last nine minutes Collingwood was in front and they did not score and kept Greater Western from scoring. The bed was comfy, plenty of tea and sugar and clean bathroom. The price of $209-00 was very expensive and the breakfast also at $26-00.After check out time at 10-00 they had storage for my luggage also.

Not a bad hotel for what it is, but when i stayed here we paid about $150 per night, which is reasonable for what it is, anything over 200 would be pushing it, as its only a 3.5 star hotel over all. The staff were friendly when checking in, helpful and got us checked in no issues. There is parking available on site, and also an area to pull up in your car to unload outside the front of the hotel. The rooms are ok, but feel a little dirty. The carpet seems to need a good clean, and the bathroom grout needs a scrub or re-doing! Bed was O-K but the mattress has seen better days i am sure! Aircon was good and cold, so thats key in Darwin! The breakfast included in the room is only continental, if you want hot food its an additional cost which was a surprise. Continental breakfast was not to bad though, a few options, fruit, cereal, and coffee from a machine. Although its hit and miss finding a clean mug! Coffee wasn't great tasting, so we headed out to Vault nearby for our morning coffee fix. Not a bad spot, close to everything in the city and the waterfront, walking distance, or scooters out the front you can use for a small fee. Lastly, my towels in the bathroom were clean, but my colleague said his two towels had stains over them, eww! Thanks for the stay! good aircon!

Stayed here with my family with young children while looking for a rental house. The cabin was great as an interim home, and the staff were fantastic. 100% recommend. Moved taking my children for walks and swimming in the different pools.

Excellent location right next to the Darwin International Airport. Good, friendly staff on hand. Late alcohol service is not available. But, they did take me in the golf cart to the bottle shop down the road to get my drinks.... Golf cart operator was nowhere to be found for my early flight, so I had to walk to the airport. Luckily it's not far....

Considering the reviews of this place, we booked at the Mecure simply because there was little else available in the area for a family of 6. We loved it here!! Staying 2 nights in courtyard rooms with access to the pool was great. Yes, it's tired looking but this is now our 4 hotel in the top end and with the quality of the food, beds, showers here probably the best so far. The buffet dinner was excellent, as is the breakfast, al-a-carte menu pretty basic but fine. It's expensive but everything seems to be expensive in the area. Check in was quick and air con was on in our room when we entered. Wifi was really good and were able to watch Netball GF and Wallabies games with no problems. Location excellent for Nourlangie Rock Art, Cahill's Crossing and Ubirr walks. Petrol station across the road and IGA in walking distance for supplies.

Great location. Basic rooms with comfortable bed. Limited options for breakfast - we eventually found out about the “pool view” cafe in the Novotel (the pool is dry) which had better breakfast options for us as we had small children who only wanted toast and not the buffet breakfast at the Mercure. (We were told it would be $15 for children over 5 (our grandchild is 6) but then other people said they were told it was free.!? Had some trouble with parking - paying guests should be assigned at least 1 car park per room - however this wasn’t the case and we had to park in the “overflow” area across the road and carry our luggage over. Definitely need a car or vehicle to go anywhere. Great new pool but don’t stand on the fake turf on a hot day as it burns your feet! Don’t forget to ask for “Territorian rates” if you are a local - show your drivers licence and get a discount.

As we are loyal members of the Accor group of hotels we usually know what standards to expect and this was no exception. We appreciate the two for one meals and free drink on arrival. The resort was full as there are were a lot of tourists. We were greeted by the very helpful and friendly Javier from Peru at reception. We felt very welcome after a very long day's travel. Our room was comfortable and clean, although could do with some refreshment. For instance the curtains did not fully close and the lights outside shined in all night. The bathroom screen could do with a update but these are minor issues. Although not on the free drink availability we really loved the Mocktails at the bar -amazing and quite a few choices. I also appreciated the security of the resort with a high fence around and outside lighting as Alice Springs has been in the news for its recent lawlessness. The hotel is also walking distance to the town centre which is another drawcard. Hopefully Alice Springs will regain its good reputation for encouraging the tourists to its wonderful tourist attractions

I had a wonderful short stay,. Clean room aircon was cool and very modern room. Awesome outdoor pool and spa plenty of onsite amenities. Rstaurants and buffet breakfast and room service is a bonus being onsite. ****** and gym onsite, 15min walk to main street and hiring of bikes onsite too. Washing machine and driers available on every floor and a wellness centre. Will return and stay again.
