"We enjoyed our two nights stay at Pippa Old Inn; the room was clean, well ventilated, stocked with water, electric kettle, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, and moisturizer. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bath towels were thick, slippers were provided as well. One big plus for us was the complimentary access to washer and dryer since we travel light."

"This hotel is very large and clean. The rooms were very spacious. The only thing is that the heat is 'on' even if you lower the temperature to its lowest setting. Thankfully there was a window to open even though it was -6° outside. The buffet was great with lots of selections. The one & only restaurant for dinner was great. Their large Asian menu provided pictures of all the dishes. The staff in the restaurant was very friendly & helpful. The pool was nice and clean. There was even a lifeguard on duty. The hot tubs were separate in the men's & ladies' change rooms. The only issue was that the front desk staff was very limited with English and there were no concierge services. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at this hotel."

"Ive just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed. The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived. 2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up. 3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed. "I initially booked for one night but I decided to stay for another night. Total two nights in the same room. Room is very clean, very quiet and the bed was superb, I slept very well. Staff super friendly and helpful. Hotel's location is about 10mins taxi from the old town centre but it is very convenient. If you don't like super crowded area with noisy street vendors and many tourists, I would recommend this place. I personally really enjoyed staying at this hotel, will definitely stay here again if I come back to Datong in future."

"Great 3 night stay. It's a very short Didi ride from DaTong South Railway station. It's right next to the DaTong Ancient City area. It's a close walk but the entrances for the walled city are all in the middle section of each wall. It's walkable but it's also easy to rent a bike or take a 7 rmb Didi to the main area. I couldn't find any convenience stores close but I was ok without them. You can also have things delivered to the hotel and the robot will bring it to your room. Room was great. Big, clean and comfortable. Pillows were also good. Had a view of the old town which was nice at night. I traveled in April. It was warm in the room because I think only the heat works that time of year. I tried the AC but didn't seem to cool the room. They had two windows you could open. It was around 0C at night so it cools down the room enough to sleep comfortably if you don't like sleeping in a warm room. Shower had strong water pressure. Towels and toiletries good. The shuttle bus stop is very close to the hotel too. You can take shuttles to some of the tourist attractions outside the city. They shuttles are cheap and convenient. Less than 10 minute walk I think or a 2 minute Didi ride. It's the ”DaTong ancient city” stop. The buffet breakfast was good. They had a big variety of western, Chinese and local foods to eat. One day breakfast was on the 3rd floor and the other days it was on the 28th floor when it was busier. They put snacks and fruit everyday. Actually good snacks, I ate all of them everyday. I was also sick with a cough. The worker must have noticed the first day in the hallway. That night when I came back I had a handwritten note and a pear tea to help with my cold. They provided the same the following night. I really appreciated that. Overall was a great stay. I'd definitely stay there again if I go back to DaTong. I'd recommend staying there."

"A clean and comfortable renewed hotel in a central but quiet location. The service is excellent. From the hotel, which is in the ancient city of Datong, major turistica ares can be easily reached. Thanks to a DIDI point just around the corner it's is to get everywhere in the city, The rooms are cozy, and super clean. They have many comforts. The only minor point is that the Chinese breakfast is not in the hotel. However the young very nice manager of the Hotel organized just cappuccino, cofees and brioche in the loby (which is also a coffee place!). In the end, an excellente breakfast. recoomended with no reserves if you are a dynamic traveller visiting Dating!"

"Nice hotel just outside of the old city - reachable with a 5 minute didi. The staff were very professional and helpful. The room was brand new, clean and comfortable. Stay was nearly perfect with only a few minor gripes. When we asked for extra pillows we were told there were none available, the gym was a little bit small, but the 24 hour gym opening time was excellent. The western food at the breakfast buffet seemed like it had bit sitting out for a while and wasn't super fresh. However, the Chinese food was excellent and the staff were happy to make some vegetarian fried rice for us to suit our dietary needs. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Datong. The staff were so helpful and kind."

"訂的這個民宿很滿意，小區很新，旺中帶靜。出小區就是東南邑，但裏面很安靜。房間很大，窗也很大，乾淨。服務滿分，接送站，早餐豐富。設施齊全，還有視頻會員，vip電視劇綜藝可以隨便看。洗澡水大。床比其他酒店硬，是我喜歡的，對腰友好。本來想訂兩晚先試試，續訂發現已經滿房了。去了別的同價位，還是念着這家的好。希望一直保持高品質，因為媽媽説下次來還住這哈哈。"

"A lovely hotel close to the old wall and not far from Datong’s must see historic attractions. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfasts are great and there is also an optional evening buffet which is good value. There is a self service laundry which the staff help you with. Rooms are nice and clean and the hotel is nice and quiet. Highly recommend"
