"Our family of four spent one night in Datong to break our week in Beijing, and this hotel was such a breath of fresh air from our more ”utilitarian” hotel in the capital. We stayed in the Lushun room. It was modern, clean, airy, and had good room temperature control despite being the shoulder season. Highly recommended if staying there with kids, as they can have their own separate area and parents can truly relax. We didn't try breakfast, though, as it's a 10-minute walk away, and we just wanted to rest in the morning. We just ordered food in."

"Ive just left the Inn and on the train to the next destination. I wish I could stay longer as this was such a pleasant stay. The boss lady was so nice. I booked just a basic room but got upgraded to almost a studio flat with separate bedroom in the mezzanine and lounge downstairs. Everytime I come back from sightseeing, all hot tired, the boss lady gave me a bowl of delicious melons. It was sweet and juicy. The best melons I have had. The second time she also gave me bananas. It was so much needed. The hotel is in the perfect location. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 1. From Datongnan station there are buses 608 or 61 which takes you directly to Huayansi stop, less than 1min from the hotel. However, the hotel frontage is a jewelry shop, I didn't know so ended up walking up/down the street for 10mins before the boss lady realised and came out to tell me I have arrived. 2. If you want to go to Yungang Grottoes. From the same bus stop take bus 38, then change to bus 3 to get to the Grottoes. Journey time about an hour in total. And cost 4RMB (2RMB per bus). However, you have to set up some kind of public travel app from Wechat to get the QR code to pay the bus fare. I didn't know this. Fortunately, some nice people helped pay my fare, then another lovely girl helped set up the app enabling me to use the bus from then as when I arrived and took the bus from the train station to hotel Wechatpay didn't work. Fortunately the driver let me ride for free as I guess he realised Im foreign and don't have this app. Only when I took the bus to Yungang Grottoes, the girl told me I need to set up the travel app etc and helped me set it up. 3. The hotel is also right opposite to the Huayan temple. A beautiful ancient temple. Deffo can't be missed. "非常好，從前台小姐姐到房間的保潔阿姨們都特別熱情，和善。我帶着爸爸媽媽第一次住豪華酒店，爸爸媽媽感受特別好。免費升了房型，送了水果，迷你吧也送了。房間安靜，乾淨，自動化程度高。保潔阿姨們補消耗品也很及時和大方，我媽媽特別高興，專門留了兩位的工牌，希望能讓她們優質的服務被更多人看到。洗護用品都是法國牌子歐舒丹，很好聞，我自己法國家中也是用這個牌子，所以像回了家一樣。酒店樓下的鳳臨閣很好吃，訂房每天送的一張60元代金券很香。早餐豐富，水果很新鮮。負一層的游泳池很乾凈，汗蒸也很好。總的來説，淡季的價錢住到這樣水平的酒店，物超所值！比起北京泛太平洋酒店絲毫不遜色。強烈推薦來大同玩的朋友選擇這間酒店！"

"We enjoyed our two nights stay at Pippa Old Inn; the room was clean, well ventilated, stocked with water, electric kettle, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, and moisturizer. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The bath towels were thick, slippers were provided as well. One big plus for us was the complimentary access to washer and dryer since we travel light."

"An exceptional hotel! Great location near the Datong City Wall with easy transportation. Rooms are clean, affordable, and come with very soft pillows and blankets. I was deeply touched by the housekeeping staff who left me a lovely note daily and even gave me balloons. This is by far the most impressive stay I've ever had. Breakfast was huge and delicious, and the restaurant is beautiful. I will absolutely stay here again on my next visit!"

"the rooms are big and facilities good certainly very value for money the breakfast is also very complete with chinese n western cereals with salad, nuts n fruits the restaurant food is delicious and very reasonable price one service staff wong kai ling waitress was very accommodating to our request for less oil ,salt n chilly her recommended food suit our taste very well"

"I booked two rooms for 4, and we were given rooms beside each other. We arrived late at night around 9.30pm and check in went smoothly. Rooms were very comfortable and were equipped with SMART tech with voice activation! We were also able to check out a little later upon request since our train left later in the afternoon. I also had packages delivered to the reception and had no issues. Location was great and easy to explore the ancient city and also to see the main wall itself. One thing to note is that there isn't a formal drop off point but you can definitely get dropped off and picked up along the side of the road. The room layout was slightly different than the images on Trip.com (I booked a Double bedroom with courtyard view with a stay voucher), but the room was good too although I would have preferred the toilet configuration in the photos. Overall, a great place to stay and I'd definitely stay here again if I get to come back to Datong. They also have a bakery at the lobby and it gets sold out pretty quickly!"

"Location: You can use bus or taxi from Datong South station. (Approximately 20 mins. ) Located in the city center and very convenient. Services: Hotel staff are extremely kind. I enjoyed a little conversation with them. They also send us some recomendation lists for restaurants. Room: It located underground, but relatively big and comfortable. However, a bathtub inside the room can easily leak water and my room soaked a little."

"Everything was great, it’s in a really nice location, walking distance to the ancient city centre and the north entry to the ancient wall. The room was very clean and the staff were very accommodating with everything we needed. Would 100% stay again"

"Nice hotel just outside of the old city - reachable with a 5 minute didi. The staff were very professional and helpful. The room was brand new, clean and comfortable. Stay was nearly perfect with only a few minor gripes. When we asked for extra pillows we were told there were none available, the gym was a little bit small, but the 24 hour gym opening time was excellent. The western food at the breakfast buffet seemed like it had bit sitting out for a while and wasn't super fresh. However, the Chinese food was excellent and the staff were happy to make some vegetarian fried rice for us to suit our dietary needs. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to anyone visiting Datong. The staff were so helpful and kind."
