Hotel berhampiran St Paul’s Chapel, New York

Spacious room for our short stay. Extremely convenient for travellers departing the city from La Guardia like us. On the downside, we would have expected a better service in a four-star hotel. The receptionist was not very friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping misunderstood my request for tissue to fill the up the empty tissue box and brought me toilet papers instead. No slippers were provided and the bottled water provided in the room was chargeable. These shortcomings leave quite a bit to be desired.

When in Brooklyn I always stay at the Ace hotel. It’s trendy and fun lobby with places to sit or work. Great service with modern rooms. Some face the Statue of Liberty. Near boutiques and restaurants. Very nice.

This hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there,and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-)  either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is in a very good location. Alexandra was so nice that she gave us a complimentary breakfast and accommodated us even before our check in time. It was a good experience. Although breakfast has a lack of food variety, it was good.

Flight got delayed and when we arrived, the room we booked was not available. The hotel was nice enough to upgrade us to a suite on the highest floor and overlooking the hudson river. View was fantastic. Room was spacious but just a bit dusty in some corners. Overall, a nice experience.

We stayed here as a family and had a very comfortable stay. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and everything felt well taken care of. Great value for the price and easy for family travel.”

Room was alright for a night! Although could have been nicer, entered room it was so hot, the ac/heater unit made a loud banging noise throughout the night made it hard to sleep, towels were dingy, Customer service was good and friendly , didn’t get a chance to try breakfast. Definitely gonna be a go to for a quick stop in the city.

I think the main advantage of this accommodation is that it is reasonably priced for the location. The space behind the first-floor lobby is also quite charming. The bed was comfortable, and the internet worked well overall, although the connection for the Wi-Fi and TV occasionally cut out. There was no refrigerator, but ice was easy to access, so this was not a major issue for a short stay. That said, there were also some downsides. First, the front desk staff were generally not very friendly and seemed defensive when responding to guest requests. I understand that they may have been tired due to the heavy snowstorm in New York at the time, but I still felt uncomfortable with the way my request was dismissed without much consideration, even though I was willing to pay extra if needed. Second, the room was very cold. I was told this may have been because it was a corner room. After I requested additional heating, the situation improved. Third, the bathtub would only fill halfway. It seemed to be an issue with the stopper, and although I was able to fix it myself, it was still inconvenient.

Had to rebook a room because flights were cancelled due to the snow storm. Understandable reception was busy. Unfortunately the lady dealing with us was very rude and blunt. Apart from this stay was good. Location is amazing!

Our group recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to New York City, and we stayed at The Gallivant Times Square. This hotel was an excellent choice for our students, teachers, and parents, providing a comfortable and convenient base for our adventures. Our trip to New York City was a huge success, and our stay at The Gallivant Times Square contributed significantly to that experience. The combination of comfort, convenience, and excellent service made it a memorable trip for everyone involved. I highly recommend this hotel for any future school trips to NYC!
