The room was very clean and neat. There were free fruits and drinks. The projector was cool. The owners were really helpful and friendly. They also gave us locations to eat and the history of Datong. The breakfast was nice and was homemade with vibrant colours. We would definitely recommend coming to stay here.

Kongshanliao is a small boutique hotel with only a few rooms. It is located inside Datong’s ancient city walls, in a recently renovated area with a traditional style. The location was good: quiet, but still possible to explore the old town on foot. Having free parking nearby was also very convenient. Just note that the parking needs to be arranged in advance because the hotel has to register your car plate number. We had a small issue at arrival because this was not done beforehand, and it took 10–15 minutes to solve. Apart from that, the service was good. The staff helped us with the parking and we received the welcome gift included in our booking. The room was small (as expected when booking), but clean and comfortable enough. The decoration of the hotel is very nice, with cozy common areas to relax, drink tea or coffee, or play mahjong. Overall, a pleasant stay with a nice atmosphere.

The hotel is in a commercial building where many tenants have moved out. It feels deserted. Except for its neighbour Han Ting hotel and the minimart beside, there does not seem to have any activity. The staff are friendly enough. There is no public toilet for the hotel guests. Guests could only use the toilets in their hotel rooms or use the public toilet on the first floor which is disgustingly dirty. It is a hassle for guests whose flight or train is in the evening after checking out in the daytime. I had to use another hotel's toilet in the evening. The hotel room's shower curtains have frayed at the edge, are a little mouldy and need to be replaced. I suspect that as it is a budget hotel, the management don't care. But the room and its toilet are clean. On food, the hotel is small so they work with an eatery outside to provide breakfast if you have breakfast included in your stay. The breakfast options are limited so it is better to go out and buy breakfast. To my surprise, there are no breakfast eateries nearby! One has to walk until the cross junction where one sees the Datong Railway Station before there are some eateries. Or, one can walk in the direction towards the Datong Ancient City and along the way, there are some restaurants and eateries. EatWheat 东方削面 is authentic in its local flavour. The hotel location is near the Datong Ancient City. If you are up for a bit of walk, it is possible to walk there. If there is an emergency, please go to 三医院 The Third Hospital which is the nearest public hospital with all facilities available. The rest of the hospitals nearby may not be fully equipped.

This is an amazing place to stay. People in Datong are very friendly. And the friendliest ones are in this hotel!! I stayed here for two nights and the staff helped me with a lot of things like ordering food and booking the tickets for museum. They even gave me a present as I left the hotel which I’m very thankful for. The room is pretty nice and has everything you need inside. It’s convinient to get around from this spot. Some people spoke English but WeChat translator was more than enough to have communication.

Highly recommended. The host is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They help us carry the luggage into our room during check in and help us carry the luggage out the stay after check out. They also provide nuts, bread and milk inside the room for us. The location of the stay also very convenient.

We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend this hotel! The location is perfect for exploring the city center on foot. The hotel is brand new while beautifully preserving a traditional Chinese style, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere. What truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. They went above and beyond to meet all of our needs and even welcomed us with a lovely afternoon snack, which was a very thoughtful touch. The breakfast was delicious, authentic Chinese cuisine with a wide variety of choices. We especially appreciated how seriously they take food allergies and dietary requirements, something that is unfortunately not common everywhere. Their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate every request made us feel truly cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely come back on our next visit!

The room and the building are really nice and the manager of the hotel was really kind to let us check out late. They provided us with everything we needed. Only thing we didn't really like is they don't provide regular towels but single use ones, which do not dry well and is not really good for the environment.

Hotel qui est neuf ( protection de l ecran de TV non retiré ) placard qui ne sont pas encore aménagé.... On accède à l hotel lorsque l on arriveen voiture par le parking au 2ème sous sol. La communication avec le staff est tnexcellente sur trip.com avant l arrivée pour avoir des renseignements. Le chambres que l on a choisi étaient au sous-sol mais le couloir est éclairé par la lumière du jour par des fenêtres au toit. Les propriétaires ne parlent pas anglais mais avec un logiciel de traduction on se comprend. A chaque souci meme à minuit ils ont été réactif et resolu le problème. Les douches sont exiguë soit la cabine douche qui n est pas carrè complètement ou dans l autre chambre c'est l espace entre la cabine de douche et le lavavzbo qui est restreint. Le lenage est fait tous les jours avec fourniture de bouteille d eau. Par contre le papier toilette est fourni en très petite quantité mais si vous en demandez à la reception ils vous en fournissent mais c est toujours embetant de devoir aller demander alors que de base il pourrait etre mis en quantité normale on a un seul rouleau qui ne paraît pas complètement rempli que vous zyez une chambre de trois ou deux perr Les prises de courant ne permettent pas de brancher les prises francaise comme c est le cas à shangai et beijing Il n y a pas la possibilité de faire laver son linge salle L emplacement est bien dans un nouveau quartier qui est encore en condtruction. L allée pour y aller de nuit est belle avec les devantures des différentes maisons L hotel organise un taxi entre la gare et l hotel myrnnant finance pour les chzmbres au sous sol. Les chambres sont bien équipée il ne rest plus que suelques fintions comme des joints en salle bain

Ajummah at the front desk is very accommodating. I arrived at 6:30am and they were able to provide me a room at 8am. Very close to the railway station. The downside is room smells tobacco. The common bathroom is extremely dirty and smells like urine. There were even poop left is there without flashing down. I had to go up to the 3rd floor and use the bathroom there instead of the one in our floor. No towels, toiletries, slippers, hair dryer. If you just need a day to rest that is near the railways station, you can book this, otherwise look for other hotels in the area.
