XXiaotuzijiadexiaopangmiaoI saw mixed reviews online and was quite worried before arriving, but after checking in, I found it wasn't as bad as some people said. First, the hotel's location isn't as prime as hotels like Parkroyal or Marina Bay Sands, but it's not far to walk to the beach. You just turn right, walk straight until you hit a FamilyMart, turn in there, and you'll find it. There's also a good shop run by two Pakistani guys in that row. The beach is just a short walk from there. Second, the hotel has nice views and is indeed great for photos, but it's true, as mentioned online, that the public areas aren't super clean, and the fabric sun loungers are quite poorly maintained – I couldn't bring myself to lie on them. To be fair, the room's cleanliness was decent. I was really scared about the bugs some reviewers mentioned, but there genuinely weren't any, even when we left the balcony door open at night – no flying insects, and no small ants, which was a relief. The chairs and sofa on the room balcony, however, weren't particularly clean and had some stains. In Southeast Asia, it's really hard to expect absolute newness and cleanliness, so bringing our own disposable toiletries made it acceptable for us. Upon check-in, they also offered two complimentary drinks, letting us relax in the restaurant while we waited for our room to be ready. The bellboy also helped with luggage, so the service level was quite good. The breakfast is average. This hotel is more suited for couples or friends looking for a quiet, photo-friendly place with a vacation vibe. If you're traveling with children, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
