Hygien, room, bed, quietness everything was great except that I got this problem with the receptionists. So I did explain to all the receptionist (that I saw-because I understand they work in shifts) that I lost 2 luggages due to the airline's mistake and airline will send them to this hostel where I would be staying (for 1 night only). I explained that if someone sent luggages here, please tell me asap because I needed to catch a train to Amsterdam the nextday noon. Imagine 35kg of personal belongs just dissapeared, I didnt have toothbrush, clean clothings.... I reminded them everything 3-4 hours when I saw a receptionist. After almost 27 hours of waiting in worry (which made me cannot enjoy the city), I talked to one receptionist to please check 1 more time becauze the airlines mailed me that they did send to the hostel at 4:30pm in the day I checked-in hostel, (only 4-5 hours after my flight time), she let me go it the luggage room and my luggages were there the whole time! So I waited in pain for 22 hours for nothing. I think it would be a bit obvious when 1 guy in delivery company uniform went in with 2 luggages and said ”this is from one of your customer.” But the receptionist just forgot it quickly and didnt tell me. I had to change a lot of my plan and I was feeling terible and stressful with the waiting and fear of lost luggages. Beside that, the condition of rooms, facilities, warm water, sound proof windows were great.

Das a&o Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof befindet sich, wie der Name schon sagt, unweit des Düsseldorfer Hauptbahnhofes. Bei unserem Besuch war das Zimmer sauber und ruhig, sodass sich das Hotel in meinen Augen definitiv für einen Städtetripp eignet. Ich kann das Hotel also definitiv weiterempfehlen.

Also wenn das a&o hostel das Dom Hostel als Standard hat,dann war das mein letzter Aufenthalt. Dusche kein Druck um zu duschen. Bett steht gefühlt mitten im Raum ohne eine Kopfstütze, so das das kissen immer wieder auf dem Boden landet. weniger Zimmer und mehr Badezimmer ist ratsam. was bringt mir ein „großes“ zimmer wenn das Badezimmer für Zwerge gemacht ist. auch wenn die Lage zu meinem Arbeitsplatz in den letzten 2 Tagen gut war wird kein a&o hostel mehr gebucht. zumal ich nen Einzelzimmer für echt Patte gebucht habe. kriege ich nen „Hotelzimmer mit Doppelbett“ für. wird auch das nächste mal gemacht.

Two nights business trip to Düsseldorf Interpack 2023. Hotel was very nice and clean. Service was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean although the view from the window was not the beat but what can you expect from this location near the airport. Breakfast had everything you need and was tasteful basic hotel breakfast. If you want to eat bigger there is restaurant across the yard in Novotel. This hotel is just a walk away from train station and sky train station that takes you to the airport. Also bus SB51 takes you to airport or citycenter. Location is good for business travellers but perhaps not the best if you want to be near citycenter.

Always a good stay. Sometimes, during the night a little bit noisy, but is nothing. Next to the city centre, next to a shopping center, next to good restaurants, free parking in a garage and in the street... What else :)

I stayed for 2 nights on a trip through Europe. The hotel is centrally located, just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Cologne Cathedral. What I liked: The great location. The friendly staff. Exceptionally clean. Great Breakfast with lots on offer. Easily accessible. The bed was comfortable. What I didn’t like: The room I was given was tiny with no window. It was so so hot and sadly that affected my sleep. The room had air conditioning but it didn’t work and just circulated hot air. However, the kind man on reception offered me another room, but I was already settled and for such a short stay didn’t want to pack everything up again. Regardless of that, I’d be happy to stay here again and the price I paid was incredibly reasonable, being so close to the centre of the city.

Hostel has fantastic location next to train station and main street. Service is very good. There is nice but little dirty bar serving cold beers and drinks. Bads are comfortable but room and especially public areas dirty and need renovations

Our 1 night stay was good but the girl in reception is kinda rude, if we ask for a favor or question she will make face and looks tired while doing the favor or answering us. Also, the breakfast is good but small choices. But the rest are ally good and other staff.

Ich buche dieses Hotel nun schon einige Jahre in folge. Es liegt nahe des Hauptbahnhofs, somit auch perfekt für die Gäste die mit der Bahn anreisen. Das Hotel verfügt über eine eigen Tiefgarage, in der man als Gast der mit Auto anreist einen Parkplatz bekommt. Der ist allerdings kostenpflichtig. Wer aber in solche Städte reist, weis das überall Parkgebühren verlangt werden. Man findet selten solch ein ausnahmsloses freundliches Personal. Das Frühstück ist perfekt und immer bestens bestückt. Auch ein Lob an das Reinigungspersonal, auch hier gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Ja, die Bäder sind jetzt nicht riesig, aber zweckmäßig und sauber. Bedingt durch die Bahnhofsnähe ist alles sehr gut und schnell erreichbar. Wer gerne ein paar Schritte geht, kann auch vieles recht schnell Fußläufig erreichen.

It can be a little noisy with the train running at the back, the road out the front, and rude customers slamming doors but on the whole this did not really distract from the stay. There is also parking if you bring your own car. Good hot shower and a very comfortable bed but as this place allows animals I had the unpleasant experience of finding two fleas in the bed, perhaps it might be good to fumigate every now and then. The room was also hot in summer but a fan can be provided which solved the problem. There is no reception and its all self check in, everyone had issues using the door code to the room but once you got it worked out it was ok. You can contact reception by phone or email. There is a nice cafe under the hotel but it is a bit expensive. And there is a service station next door that sells snacks and drinks including alcohol. Only a couple of English speaking tv channels but that is standard for Germany. This hotel fitted the bill for my stay at a reasonable price, I would return.

Stayed for two nights. Easy to get around. Close to all amenities, lots of restaurants with different cuisines in the area. Small room with double bed nicely decorated and comfortable enough unspite of little closet space. Clean. There are no shower cup, and just soap for all your body parts, including hair. The staff provided me with a kettle upon requst, so I could have a cup of tea in my room. Continental breakfast is very satisfying. And this hotel has the best cappuccino in Koeln.

As a female solo traveller I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. I paid for one night and never stayed, I left at 10:30pm and went to a hotel nearby. I was first out in a room with older and very strange people who had food all over their beds and floors as though they live there full time. The smell was horrendous and I knew I couldn't sleep in there. I asked for another room thinking I got unlucky. I was then transferred to a room with 3 older men in there 50s and 60s who were walking around with only underpants and then fully undressing in front of me. They were not reading books or minding their own business, just staring at me while I made my bed. As I went to leave, one of them followed me and asked where I was going, if I was leaving, and when I'd be back. He was strangely invested in my quick return bit was odd. There should be a healthy mix of women and men, and travellers want to stay with like-minded travellers, not homeless people and creepy old men! I lost 30 euros at this place. Just avoid it!

This hotel should only be used as a bed to sleep in, and expect absolutely nothing more. I was here on business with 2 colleagues and everything was just ok. The people in the reception looked very bored and uninspired. The room was alright, the housekeeping a joke. To be fair, with 3 people living in a very small room the space to clean was minimal as we had to spread quite a bit, but I expected the trash bin to be emptied. The beds were alright and the AC excellent, which was good as the area around the hotel tend to be noisy as it is in the industrial part of town. There was a brief 10 minute walk to the s-bahn. Very few choices of food around the area. The breakfast, that they priced up from €7.50 to €10.50 from our booking to arrival is not worth the money, with a very bad selection and slow refill when there is a lot of people. The Frau managing the breakfast area was very agressive in asking for room number and barely understood any English making it very awkward. If you are a smoker, then the smoking area outside does not have any place to sit. Unless there is no other available places to stay, I will not come back to this hotel.

If the hotel is something for you depends on the deal, room, and service personnel you got. We cannot recommend Yggotel Pirol. The former Novum Hotel Engelbertz is freshly renovated and now calls itself Yggotel Pirol and is themed ”Scandinavian”. The management photos dated February 2024 mostly reflect what to expect, minus some adjustments to reality. If you have been to Las Vegas, you know the difference between night and day and the effect of light and some paint. The old hotel / building is still showing through when looking for details (read some older reviews). + Hotel staff is friendly (but not always helpful) + freshly renovated + new interior + great, central location + relatively quiet at night o average (to low) breakfast quality - breakfast staff not fit for the job - strong odor coming in through bathroom ventilation - tiny rooms, really On the breakfast, ”Skandinavian” means the hotel added a waffle maker. From our tests and watching others, the idea is nice (of course!) but the settings and cleaning have room for improvement. The person attending the breakfast seemed to either ignore work or was not fit for the job. Tables were not cleared, refills happened after pointing to empty things, the kitchen area looked ”interesting”, the food area and coffee machine were missing some in-between cleaning.

I stayed here for 3 nights, It may not be in the centre but it has good transport links. From The airport, S19 to Cologne Messe, there are taxis outside the station if you don’t want to walk to the hotel. It had everything I needed, it was quiet, clean and had a good shower and very good wifi connection. Also had a very good air conditioning which was needed. The nearest supermarket is Lidl which is a 10minute walk and 15minute to the Cologne Messe station or you can take the tram/bus which is 350metres away which also takes you across the bridge. There is also a mini market in reception for cold drinks and snacks open 24hrs which was handy. I didn’t have breakfast here so I cant comment on that. I had a very enjoyable stay and I would stay here again.

Zimmer war geräumig sauber und einladend . Badezimmer mit Badewanne ist natürlich top. Für den Preis kann man sich nicht beschweren , Auch das Frühstücks Buffet war ausstreichen .

Sehr zentrales Hotel, alles war sauber und ordentlich. Zimmer war sehr klein und das Badezimmer veraltet Dusche mit Duschvorhang. Bett war bequem es ist sehr hellhörig dort, aber für eine Nacht völlig ausreichend. besonders erwähnenswert und positiv war der anonyme selbst Check in Mechanismus und die Möglichkeit, die Haustür und Zimmertüre mit dem Handy zu öffnen. Das fand ich wirklich sehr fortschrittlich und eine tolle Idee.

The hotel is excellent and I stay here everytime I go to Ninjing. IMO, the best option in the county. The staff is friendly and the food is good.

Niet te veel van verwachten. Het is een self-service hotel waar je alles zelf moet doen. Niks bijzonders aan de kamers. Als je enkel een verblijf wilt met een bed dan zit je hier wel goed. Supermarkt zit tegenover het hotel en je kan er gratis parkeren.

Ich war zum wiederholten male da. Ja, wie die Vorredner schon sagten ist das Hotel schon in die Jahre gekommen und könnte an so mancher Stelle eine Renovierung vertragen. Kategorie ”Garni”. Aber für mich spielte das keine Rolle. Das Zimmer war sauber. Nettes Personal, ein ausreichendes Frühstück. Mehr brauchts in Düsseldorf eigentlich auch nicht. Online direkt beim Hotel gebucht, 69 Euro (Wochentags) für 2 Personen inkl. Frühstück gibts in und um Düsseldorf kein 2. mal. Für Stubenhocker ist dieses Hotel allredings definitiv nichts.

We booked months in advance on *********** before our stay on 20.8.23. We stayed for 1 night in a Family Room - a double bed with a bunk bed in one room with a shower room. The hotel despite being called “airport” is actually a 5-10 minute drive away by taxi (we paid €21 to get from Düsseldorf airport to the hotel by taxi). We had a nightmare at check-in. Our flight was delayed so we didn’t get to the hotel until after 11pm when the check-in desk closed. None of the reference numbers *********** had provided us with worked, so we thought we were going to be homeless! Luckily there was 2 emergency telephone numbers on the wall, we rang the first - it went to answerphone - luckily the second was answered but with my rusty German, I had to speak a mixture of German & English to explain what had happened. Luckily she found our reservation and give us the access code for the building & for the room (there is no room physical key) - such a relief! The room had air con (a welcome relief as it was 30’c when we visited), free Wifi, comfy beds & a lovely shower. Breakfast was €10.50 each - we booked in the morning due to the aforementioned check-in issues. Great selection of continental breakfast items. Check out was 12noon. The nearest tram stop “ISS Dom” is a 2 minute walk away which on the S1 line takes you to the Düsseldorf Hbf in 25 minutes, then you can change to catch a connection to Düsseldorf Airport, Cologne etc. We would definitely stay at a B&B Hotel again when visiting Germany again.

This hotel is a basic low price hotel with no added extras. However if you just need somewhere cheap to stay for a short break this is ideal. The room we had was basic with minimal furniture and no tea/coffee, fridge or safe. Nevertheless it was quite spacious with a good bathroom, comfortable bed and clean. The breakfast was adequate with a reasonable choice but not fantastic. Use one of the nearby cafes instead. The location is very good - almost opposite the station, and only about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the city centre.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days while helping our son move to Aachen from a different part of Germany. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient as it is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, and about 15 minute walk to both our son's new apartment in the Frankenberger neighborhood and also to the old town. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Panayoti who spoke very good English and explained all the charges on our hotel bill clearly. The breakfast offered a variety of healthy choices and fresh baked goods and was reasonably priced. The hotel felt very safe both in terms of Covid precautions and security at night time when returning late. The only thing I felt was not quite up to my expectations were the flat pillows and firm beds. I prefer fluffier pillows and a softer bed, but it was comfortable enough for the length of our stay. When I return to Aachen, I will not hesitate to book a stay at this hotel again.

Budget hotel: clean rooms, everything what you need is there, but don't expect any luxury. As the rooms are quite large, it would be good to have a larger desk and proper chairs (instead of simple stools). There should be a place to put shower towels in the bathroom. Breakfirst is good for a budget hotel: coffee is good and they have fruit salad. I wish they would also have croissants. Overall, I can recommend the hotel for a few days in Aachen. The location is very convenient.

Awesome staff so hard working. Checking in serving beers and food. Awesome job ladles. Nothing too much trouble on a busy F1 weekend. Rooms clean and comfortable. Good WiFi. Towels in room. TV could have more English channels

BP24 - as this hotel is called - is a hotel based on a new generation of travellers who are willing to do everything themselves and paying less for the non-existing service. Well, first €76 is not exactly cheap for a very basic room without any charm. Second - the concept is not working. On arrival you have to enter a lot of information of yourself in a computer - and pay for the room - and then a key should drop down. But no key dropped down - so how to get in to the hotel? We found a telephone number to call - and after having waited for a long time a person showed up, only to tell us that the key was still inside the machine. At last, we had our key - but we were not impressed by the system, nor the room - and now, as we try to sleep, there is a lot of noice coming the other rooms. Don’t book a room i BP24, please!

Absolutely marvelous! I have traveled to 38 countries in my life and have stayed in countless hostels around the world. Hostel Aachen is not my all-time favorite - but it is pretty close! I took a weekend getaway to Aachen while living in Germany. I booked Hostel Aachen because it was a good price and the location was well-reviewed. I quickly learned that this place is a hidden gem! The staff are EXCEPTIONAL - complimentary and responsive! I was given a private room, free of charge. Towels were provided to me at no extra cost. The room was clean and had a large window. The showers and bathrooms were EXTREMELY clean (not just for a hostel, but for a hotel). Facilities were also well-maintained. The building also features a lovely patio area for eating and smoking and a very large lounge area, with a kitchen (fully stocked with tea, coffee, utensils, and dishes), a large, 20-person dining table, a small kitchen table, and even a work desk and lounge love seats. The amenities are wonderful, but the best part is the staff. I was fully accommodated my entire stay and wanted for nothing - my questions about places to eat, means of travel, sites to see, and things to do were all answered promptly and with great detail. And the staff is simply simpatico. I extended my stay an extra day! Oh, and the location is ridiculous! You can walk 10 minutes to the main square or take a bus 5 minutes or a scooter for 3 minutes. And the train station is literally across the street! Unbelievable! If anything, There is a train station across the street, which means trains do pass by in the night. But I was able to sleep with no problems. This just may be a concern for people with trouble sleeping.

soft bed on soft base - I will need 10 hours of physio to fix the damage. hotter than hell and can't open the window because the room is so small the curtains prevent you from opening it bathroom so small and shower even smaller that you need to lather up before you get in the shower. no food or drink service. no breakfast. nothing. no coffee.. absolutely nothing. bottle of water in the room but so hot because of the room temperature that it's undrinkable. but not quite hot enough to make tea no kettle in the room no bar fridge micro-stool at desk - impossible to work. room not serviced. bed unmade. checked in at 2pm but room not ready. needed to pull mattress onto the floor to attempt sleep. if you're considering coming to Germany to stay in this travesty then rather keep your money and go on holiday nearer to home. an absolute disaster of a place. also lift doesn't work at the best of times. stay away... you'd get more pleasure from taking the cash you'd spend and burning it to stay warm while you slept on the street.
