My husband and I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Nagasaki and we decided to stay at Nagasaki Marriott as hotel was newly opened 3 months ago. The hotel located at a good location, next to bus terminal, train station and easy access to tram so we can just go around the city for sightseeing and cultural experience, but the best part was that hotel is next to a shopping mall where you can find many good restaurants and shops including famous local Nagasaki Castela. Our experience staying at Nagasaki Marriott was beyond our expectations. We were so impressed with how well hotel staff were trained at all areas since hotel just opened not long time ago. We really felt like we stepped into Japanese hospitality for both services and mindset of staff who always pay attention to guests from the entrance of the hotel at ground floor before going up to the lobby check-in with warm welcome and big smiles. Each area we experienced was a wonderful one, breakfast area was well set with variety of foods from local products. We very much appreciated staff working hard in kitchen and also M Lounge was our favorite place to relax and enjoy some dinner served and conversations with the staff. We fell into love with this hotel, not only because the modern designed room but also offered the solutions on how guest could enjoy the room during their stay. But most importantly our experience with staff made our stay such a wonderful and special one. Special thanks to: Mr. Yoshimitsu, Executive Assistant Manager, Mr. Antonio, Guest Experience Manager who made sure guests are well taken care. And thank you for training your staff well. Thank you also to Ms. Soegawa, Mr. Hashimoto, Mr. Bijaya for taking good care of us. Also restaurant staff Ms. Kurihara, Mr. Ishibashi and Mr. Take****a. We are looking forward to come back to your hotel again. Nuchjaree

In my opinion, the only benefit for staying at this hotel is its location. The hotel is located directly inside the theme park, which means you are able to roam around the park after it's closed or before it's open, a rare experience you can hardly get in any theme park. It also means you can go back to your room anytime during the day, without even need to exit the park. This is not a small benefit, and that's why I still give it 3 stars. The room, however, was disappointing for a moderately expensive hotel. It was really old, probably never renovated since the theme park opened. I stayed in one of their superior rooms. The decor was plain, and while the room was large, about 1/3 of the space was completely empty and basically unused. The TV was tiny considering the room size, and I wasn't even sure if it's HD. The lobby and the public space didn't look bad, but there wasn't anything cool or fancy. My room faced away from the park, so couldn't tell much about the view. It was quiet though. One thing I was unprepared for was that the hotel didn't have a store. And since all the stores in the park close by 8PM or so, I wasn't able to buy snakes or drinks at night. (There was a minibar in the room, but it was overpriced and was mostly alcohol). If I chose to stay in a hotel outside of the main entrance, I would have access to the convenience stores. The breakfast was overpriced. While the food wasn't bad, it was an average hotel breakfast and doesn't worth 3600 yen. However since you can't get breakfast in the park anywhere else, the other option is to hold until lunch. If I make the choice again, I would probably stay at one of their partner hotels outside of the main gate. Not only are they cheaper, but are also more convenient. TIPS: 1. Since the hotel is located inside the theme park, you can't drive to the hotel or get dropped at the hotel entrance. You have to walk through the park entrance, and reach the hotel either by foot or by taking the park shuttle. If you have luggage, you can have them delivered to the hotel for free at the luggage service kiosk outside of the main gate (it takes 2-3 hours). You can also have your luggage delivered to the entrance at check out, but need to pick them up before 6PM. If you are driving, you won't have easy access to your car during the stay. 2. Unless you arrive after the park is closed, you need a valid park admission ticket on your check in day to access the hotel. You don't need admission tickets for subsequent days (until check out). They are included in your room rate and will be given to you at check in time. You will also get a ticket to the hot spring (only 1 ticket per stay). You have to get there by taking the shuttle bus, and the place is pretty crowded. I think it can be passed.

Excellent hotel with only 32 rooms. Breakfast was great with either Western or Japanese style. We opted for Japanese style breakfast which was excellent five stars with lobster miso soup, etc. Drinks included orange juice, tomato juice and champagne. Coffee is brew fresh in front of you. Excellent staff for arranging free hotel car service from hotel to ferry terminal about 10 min drive.

Had an excellent stay here for 3 nights. Location is excellent being just across the road from the JR station. I was welcomed from arrival to departure. The room was large and comfortable ad quiet. The breakfast selection was excellent with great staff ( excellent additional benefits for being a HH Diamond member which was greatly appreciated) The executive lounge was excellent with great breakfast offerings, great afternoon snacks and a great evening snack selection ( probably the best selection in a Hilton I have had for years). The fitness centre is great ( did not try the hot baths) and loved the congestion indicator on the tv. The Seven Seas lounge was fantastic for a evening drink before bed with excellent service Nagasaki is a beautiful city to visit and hope to visit and stay at the hilton again soon

IKI RETREAT by Onko Chishin

Iki Retreat Kairi Murakami opened in 2018 after Onko Chishin bought out the property and extensively renovated it (I'm assuming ”Murakami” is the name of the original owner as well as the property name.) It's located on the Northwest side of Iki Island, with commanding views of Yunomoto Bay - each of its 12 rooms face the Bay, all but the entry level ”Corner Tatami Room” have Western beds, and each room has a private, open-air Onsen (straight from the source) bath on the deck. Speaking of Onsen, the hot spring turns gold in color upon being exposed to air, due to a high concentration of iron - this is not unlike the gold Onsen found in many parts of Arima Onsen near Kobe. Aside from in-room baths, Iki Retreat also has large, gender-segregated communal baths as well as a private bath that can be rented in 45 minute allo**ents. Guests looking for a unique Onsen experience in a remote part of the country will undoubtedly enjoy staying here. The property itself is a hybrid ryokan/hotel type - while robes are provided in the room and can be worn throughout the property, they are more of a casual, ”Samue” type of outfit.. it's far less stylish than a Yukata but more comfortable when wearing it. Like most small ryokans, Iki Kairi lacks a gym and pool. Unlike traditional ryokans, shoes don't come off until you get to the guestroom (similar to Fufu) and doesn't have a garden. This is compensated by the view of the ocean, which is reminiscent of Bouyourou, Sui Suwako, Migiwatei Ochi Kochi and the two Amane Resorts in Beppu. We stayed in the top category room, the Kairi Suite, which offers 120m² of indoor living space and the only one that features both a Japanese-style tatami room and a living room with couches (in addition to a separate bedroom.) No other rooms have a Western living room, so if the idea of sitting ”on the ground” in a tatami room isn't to your liking, be sure to seek out the Kairi Suite. For just one year - beginning on the day we arrived - Onko Chishin has collaborated with Kateigaho to redesign the Kairi Suite in a modern, Japanese-stylish way and have dubbed it the ”Kateigaho Suite.” Kateigaho is a renowned publication that caters to a high-end demographic and focuses on Japanese art, architecture, food, travel and fashion. The Kateigaho Suite in its current form will be in existence from June 16, 2023 to June 14, 2024. The main aspect worth mentioning are variety of decorative crafts and art by traditional Kyushu artisans, especially the wall exhibit of tea cups in the tatami room (guests are free to use them during their stay.) Overall, we felt the room was tastefully designed and furnished, with a nice blend of traditional and modern Japanese interior look and feel to it. Two things worth pointing out, for what it's worth: the bathroom has a men's urinal (in addition to a standard, Toto toilet), and - curiously - there is only one sink. Otherwise, what you see is what you get. Iki is famous for its seafood, local produce as well
