The hotel as a whole is a beautiful place in a wonderful location. The first impression was great. Friendly and welcoming check-in. However, once details come up and they are not resolved, it becomes annoying. Rooms lack basic amenities like tissues, cotton buds, cotton pads, nail file (amenities that are standard in a 5 star hotel). The same room types, which cost exactly the same per night, differ in the amenities that are available in some and not in others. We have 3 rooms of the same category. For example, there is full body mirror in room 203. But a mirror in room 202. (Same room type.) There is a long full-length mirror in 203 and 103 and there is none in 202. There is also a coffee maker in 202 but not in the other 2 rooms.. these are small insignificant details. The biggest problem is not the lack of amenities but the lack of attention because there is not enough staff. It's really a ”one man show”.... In the F&B areas. At the reception... no one answers the phone when you need reception and the coffee at breakfast only comes after breakfast has already been served... feel sorry for the poor staff, they are overworked. However when you need something done in the room... you can call and call, they might apologise but no other solution is given other than a room move. Which on a holiday is not very practical. The bathroom blinds in room 202 are damaged, no one even tries to fix it. In room 203 the windows do not open (faulty) maintenance does not check the condition... only solution is a room move... it would be nice for at least a gesture of finding a solution... I hope the people in charge read this because the place is beautiful, it has a lot of potential and it would be nice if other future guests could enjoy it and not be annoyed by small details that add up and become a burden during the stay.

From the moment we walked in the door, we had an amazing experience at Barceló Oviedo Cervantes. Parking was as easy as could be in a nice lot connected to the hotel. The person at reception was so personable and helpful and we even got an unexpected room upgrade. The room was spacious, well-designed and comfortable - including a huge tub with jets in the large bathroom (with a sliding door that allowed for privacy). I’m also used to paying ridiculous prices for wine at a hotel so was very pleasantly surprised when I learned at checkout that the one I had charged to my room was only about 4€. The hotel is perfectly located close to the shops, restaurants and amazing park, and reasonably quiet for being on a busy street. I would not hesitate to stay there for future visits to Oviedo.

We have been coming to Spain for over 27 years and during this time we have stayed in some good hotels and some where we have questioned the 5 star rating. Our tour of Northern Spain concluded with 2 nights in Palacio de Luces which is possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed in across Spain. There has clearly been huge inves**ent across all areas. Our room was immaculate and the quality of furnishings surpassed many of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in. The views from the public areas are stunning,made more impressive by the floor to ceiling glass screens. We would normally dine out but having sampled the restaurant on our first night we rebooked for a second night. The food was superb and the staff all took real pride in delivering great service. Last but not least the spa area looks like it was built yesterday. It is immaculate, peaceful and a wonderful addition for guests tired after a day exploring the local towns which are very hilly! ( comfortable shoes are a must). Thank you to all the wonderful staff. Your hotel is an absolute gem which we are delighted we stumbled upon.

J'aime beaucoup le caractère de cet hôtel, son charme est particulier et les chambres ont de la classe. Cette fois-ci, j'ai été déçu par le passage incessant des gens d'une colloque, du bruit du plateau roulant du room service et SURTOUT j'ai eu des voisins la deuxième nuit où j'entendais tout : leur discussion, leur bruit corporel, leur télé. C'était infernal, et je me suis aperçu que j'étais dans une chambre élargie, un passage par une simple porte se communiquait avec la chambre d'à côté (109/107). Autres mauvais points : le WiFi de l'hôtel est complètement faux, on voit le réseau Wi-Fi sans code mais on n'y accède jamais. JAMAIS j'ai n'ai pu utiliser leur Wi-Fi ! D'autre part ma chambre donnait sur la rue, certes calme, mais sans double vitrage, les bennes passant dans la nuit m'ont fait la fête ! Des travaux de la salle à manger sont en cours, j'ai apprécié d'aller déjeuner au restaurant Mil Cent accolé à l'hôtel : belles stations, beaux produits, accueil agréable, excellent jambon ibérique, thé Dilmah. Séjour mitigé à cause du bruit et charme perdu, au final il faut rénover les chambres contre les nuisances et le personnel doit faire moins de bruit aussi, avec une meilleure WiFi et tv. Il existe d'autres hôtels de très bon standing, c'est ce que je vais essayer la prochaine fois.
