Hotel 4 Bintang di Centre-Val de Loire, Perancis

Faultless everything. I had a great big room, fantastic over all compared to a local 5* hotel. great location, amenities near by, transport and ease. i usually do not like to stay in big chains but this one truly surprised me.

We could not have asked for a more beautiful place to stay. We recently stayed here for our trip to the Loire Valley. The hotel was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we met the owner who was eager to visit and tell us the history of the place. Our room, #4, had a sweet little balcony where we were able to sit on and have a drink overlooking the backside of the estate. The room was very nicely sized and comfortable. The grounds were in bloom with a carpet of pink and white Cyclamen which was spectacular. The chateau, in our opinion, looked like a mini Chateau Chenonceau itself, (less the bridge lol). Look at the pictures and you will see the similarity. It location was great for using as a home base to visit the magnificent chateaus of the valley and the small towns that dot the river. Our only regret was not to have eaten there as everyone we talked to said the restaurant was great too. A visit in last September early October is a great time to visit!!

Dated looking concrete hotel overlooking the Loire and easy to find if you don’t miss the turning. Excellent and cheap open air parking behind the hotel. A lot of building work going on (pool closed, temporary reception etc.), but we stayed at a weekend so no noise. Large, light room, a bit dated, with huge window and balcony overlooking the Loire, but also overlooking noisy main road and bridge. Luckily double glazing and aircon effective. Good bed, good lighting, including bedside lights but no sockets by the bed. Storage fine. Decent TV with BBC and CNN. Good WiFi. Bathroom good with modern walk in shower. Smart, rather cramped restaurant/breakfast room, with windows screened to hide building work on the pool. Good breakfast selection but very limited dinner menu (4 mains). Food distinctly average but excellent waiters and very professional service. Quite a walk to the old centre, with the cathedral, vast art museum and restaurants. All staff friendly and helpful.

We stopped here en route to Calais and it was an ideal stopover. The room was clean, spacious and had basic kitchen facilities should we have needed them. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were travelling with two dogs and had a downstairs room close to an exit which was ideal. The staff recommended an excellent local restaurant where clients receive a discount on showing their room key. The only downside was that the Wifi in the room was not working. It was essential for us as we needed to complete a locator form. Fortunately as it was still not working the next day we were given acces to the office WiFi which served its purpose.

We were found this hotel by a lovely and very kind taxi driver after our car had broken down. The gentleman on reception (not sure of his name but he seemed to be the night reception) was very understanding and gave us a snack to take to our room followed by a much needed beer each. The room was perfect for my husband, myself and our little dog Rosie. Nice coffee, nice shower, very quiet and the mattress was extremely comfortable for the 3 of us! The housekeeping lady who was a few rooms away was more than happy to replenish our coffee ect. Thank you. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Pierre and the female receptionist and the gentleman at night very much for the directions, help and understanding of what had been a very stressful time for us. A good nights sleep followed by an extensive breakfast choice and a hot shower made our stay very comfortable. Thank you all very much Ray & Lara Osborne

The staff was extremely helpful and kind! They went out of their way to make us feel at home. Honestly above and beyond. Jocelin was amazing! The pool is nice the room comfortable and clean. We walked to the castle and had dinner in town. Recommend this hotel.

Very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Booked simply as a convenient stopover, it turned out to be a great place to stay. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The food was good, breakfast an amazing array of items - scrambled eggs really excellent, a good test of the chef. Room was spotless and quiet, great idea to have double set of doors to the corridor, it does cut down corridor noise. Very well managed hotel. Enjoyed watching the rabbits, from our room window, in a neighbouring field. Will certainly stay again if passing this way.

We stopped by this hotel to break our long travel and we were not disappointed. We normally opt to stay at Novotels, if possible when we travel just because we know what to expect, comfortable beds, good location, clean rooms. We did get all this but so much more. The service in particular, was impeccable and went above and beyond the expectation. Shirley from the reception was extremely helpful. She was so accommodating with all our questions and she even went out of her way to translate for us when we needed help. She was also very welcoming and pleasant. The decor of the hotel is also a bit different from the standard decor that we see in other novotels, it was classy and cosy at the same time. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area again.

The air conditioning worked well enough. We enjoyed the laundromat and grocery store around the corner. It was easy enough to find the tourism office which was the meeting point for our tour. We had breakfast one day at their buffet. The breakfast had enough choices but I did not think it was worth the extra 15-18 euros. Best Westerns should build the price of breakfast into their room rates and just include it.

There was a taxi strike in the region on the day of the wedding - fun fact: there's only one taxi provider in that part of the Loire Valley. After several futile attempts to get a hold of the cab company, Xavier made arrangements so that our group could make it to Rochecorbon in time for the ceremony. Also, breakfast here is great. Don't miss it. The hotel AC struggled during an unusual heat wave (90 F, 32 C), but it was cool at night, so we made it work. (And other hotels in Tours had the same issue.)

I was upgraded and had a lovely room on the fourth floor. Very clean and comfortable The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was central and met all my needs. There wasn’t a restaurant in the hotel but there were lots of restaurants close by

The hotel looks beautiful and is… unless you get the dud room! The room we were given has a view and entrance right onto the main driveway of the hotel rather than the beautiful courtyard that is advertised. It is also right next to the service area and the laundry trolley rattles all day. Also they was a sewage- like stench in our room. My guess would be this accommodation block used to be a horse Stable and has been renovated. We came from New Zealand and booked for 3 nights many months in advance after looking at Trip advisor reviews. The hotel receptionist actually agreed that our room is substandard! However they were fully booked and could not offer a solution. To make it worse the male receptionist was not sympathetic and was very rude to me when I calmly and politely explained the situation! Honestly because I this I would not recommend booking unless you could guarantee a better room. However on a more positive note the breakfast Buffet was superb.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Firstly, it’s in a fabulous setting and I doubt much has changed since it was built. It has an understated grandeur, with very impressive drawing rooms and bar. The bedroom followed a similar theme and as a consequence, didn’t have air conditioning although a fan was provided. A disappointment was that the highly restaurant wasn’t open either evening, which we had been made aware of in advance, which necessitated a trip out. As the chateau is isolated, this is a touch inconvenient so check restaurant opening times before you arrive. All in, this was a wonderful stay

I am lucky that my company is moving away from the Tours Nord area. It means that I do not have to stay in this Mercure anymore. Let me be clear: the staff members are very nice and that is the reason I still give 3 points. However, this is the only Mercure where I would never get an upgrad as a platinum or now gold member. They are always full. Sometimes I find it hard to believe given the size - and the fact that in CDG I have the upgrade every time. The standard rooms are of good standard mercure quality but in regards to amenities it is really below any kind of standard: you have a shower gel from a large bottle (that was unfortunately empty) and the same for the soap. There is nothing else. You get coffee powder and a couple of tea bags as well as a half liter of water. Maybe I am spoiled after our holidays in Asia but I am seriously considering to quit the Accor Live Limitless program and try my luck somewhere else. For two nights for business it is ok and again, lovely staff. Just not a place that makes you feel welcome. I am looking forward to seeing the folks at the Mercure Tours Sud again (should I remain with ALL...).

I've given this hotel the benefit of the doubt in giving it four stars but I hesitated between three and four. I would rate it as ”good” - not quite ”very good” but better than ”average”. On the plus side, it is well situated close to the town centre and the room was big and clean. On the negative side, it is starting to look a little sad; it probably needs to be smartened up a bit. The reception staff were very helpful.

Booked for one night with breakfast and ended up staying two nights. Perfect Hotel for myself and partner. Breakfast was lovely and good parking Room spacious. We had a lovely stay and wish we could stay another night. We didnt use the restaurant as it wasnt for us personal choice but used the fast food places not too far away. The nearby Tram will take you into the town centre for 3 euro return. Hope to come again. The room has tea and coffee facilities and worth bringing some milk to put in fridge and use for hot drinks. Quite funny as folks in next room were having late night romping. Lots of screaming and moaning. Finally stopped at 1am in the morning.

Nous revenons d’une nuit passée au Novotel de la gare , situé juste en face de celle-ci . Très bel hôtel , maintenant bien fini et largement à la hauteur des autres Novotel . Notre chambre exécutive était grande et très belle, literie top et salle de douche également , avec peignoirs, WC séparé (dans toutes les chambres). Seul le plafond, effectivement, ne fait pas fini, mais c’est un détail … Petit déjeuner de qualité, personnel réactif et accueillant . Piscine chauffée, grande, mais à débordement sur 2 côtes et demi … du coup de l’eau partout et peu d’endroits pour poser ses affaires… 3 transats et 2 banquettes à disposition ! C’est la seule critique, mais il y a une piscine couverte, chauffée et c’est déjà un plus très appréciable . On est à pieds près de restaurants, commerces et à deux pas de la cathédrale et de l’hôtel Groslot qu’il faut absolument aller voir . Bref , on a beaucoup aimé !! Et reviendrons…

Gorgeous dining experience indeed. This is gourmet food prepared by a very creative chef. Most definitely worth the trip there. The setting is just magnificent, decorated with ancient furniture and the big park around it makes it possible to walk in the beautiful Sologne forest. A swimming pool, tennis court, minigolf and even a sauna offer plenty of amenities.

Booked last minute for one night to break up the road trip home, paid £160ish for the privilege. Positives: Receptionist and barman were friendly, room was very spacious and linen clean. Negatives: Cheap uncomfortable bed, room may be spacious but feels soulless due to no pictures on the walls and furniture felt more appropriate for a hostel. Overall the room was clean until you look at the bathroom floor which was utterly filthy, more like something you’d see in a public WC. Very large but very old Samsung TV’s, not connected to WiFi so couldn’t log in to Netflix or even screen mirror from phone, so French TV it’ll be to relax then….oh and despite having two TV’s in the room one had to be unplugged as the remote worked both at the same time, genius. Finally the hotel corridors smell like an EasyJet flight returning from Magaluf (I imagine). Thoughts and msg to Mercure; Just because it’s a ‘business’ hotel doesn’t mean customers don’t want home comforts, buy some more pillows, pictures for the walls and upgrade the 10 year old TV’s. While you’re at it how about a headboard covered in fabric & foam so you can sit up comfortably in bed?? Finally I think it’s great that French hotels are so pro-dogs, we really struggle to find places to stay in England with ours but if your going to let people bring them you have to expect accidents so perhaps having your corridor carpets professionally cleaned once in a while might help to ensure the smell of caca goes away??? Peace.

Au pied du centre commercial place d'arc et dans la superbe rue piétonne avec son tram rue de la république qui donne directement sur la belle place avec la statut de Jeanne-d 'Arc Niveau stationnement , comme toutes les villes place payantes ou courte durée du fait que nous sommes en centre ville. Pas de stationnement prévu pour l'hôtel. Une femme formidable nous as reçu le jour de notre arrivée. L'hôtel est ouvert 24h/24 Petit Candy bar pour les enfants comme pour les adultes, café thé gratuit. Attention boisson fraiche payante. Niveau chambre, propre, grand lit, puis canapé qui se transforme en lit d'une personne, télé qui conviens à la chambre, toilette très petite, et porte casser donc pas de verrou et la porte qui s'ouvre toute seul. Salle de douche très petite, ne pas être dans l'obésité sa pourrait gêner (désolé). Les photos sont souvent pour les chambres VIP, et non pour les 2 autres classes proposés. Matelas pour ma part trop ferme. Pas de petit plus dans la chambre, a part une bouilloire, du café soluble, thé, réfrigérateur avec une bouteille d'eau offerte et coffre fort. Petit déjeuner sous hautes surveillance avec un salarié sur son portable à la porte du réfectoire Petit déj pas assez complet coté salé. Nous avons attendus 15 minutes à l'accueil en bas le matin pour redonner notre carte ainsi que pour faire part de notre observation comme ils nous le demande, 15 minutes plus tard toujours personnes, obligés de laisser la carte sur le fauteuil du salarié du fait qu'on savait pas ou mettre la carte donc personne pour vous dire en revoir. Pas digne d'un 4 étoiles.
