Hotel 4-Star di Normandy, France

The hotel is more than 10 minutes walk from the bus stop and the town visitor center. It is accessible by a 30-minute walk to Elephant Trunk Hill or by a sightseeing train at the town visitor center. The large comfortable twin room booked is large in size, and the mother elephant and town buildings can be seen from the small balcony. The scenery is beautiful one morning and one night on the sunny day. The rooms are decorated in Chinese style, with a surf bath and shower room in the big triangle. There may be no cold air conditioning in the room, but there are two big hottines. The exterior of the Michelin restaurant is covered with green plants, and the walls and backs of chairs are decorated in Picasso style. Guests may enjoy free afternoon tea in the afternoon.

We booked this hotel because it was in a château and it looked romantic and unique .However there were many details lacking overall. Firstly avoid the restaurant at all costs even though the three course meal was only €29. The food preparation and quality was terrible. Please see attached photos. The salmon I had was overcooked from frozen salmon and the greens were likely frozen greens that were boiled to mush and no longer green. The risotto was just rice coated in some weird cream and had some tasteless pieces of chicken slapped on top. We did not finish the food. They clearly also need more staff as our receptionist was doubling up as a waitress, and we noticed that there were some waits and gaps in service. The room was compact and clean, but the details were lacking. For example, the fixtures and appliances were the cheapest variety possible and didn’t match the Luxe feel that the hotel is going for. The location is slightly out of town and a 20 minute walk to all the main sites in the old town. The grounds were tidy and very pretty in photos.

This hotel had an amazing location! Thanks to its prime spot, we were able to see Mont Saint-Michel late at night and early in the morning. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, which was super convenient. The room was spacious and clean. The only slight disappointment was that a tree in front of our room blocked the view of Mont Saint-Michel. We chose a window seat in the breakfast area to enjoy the view of Mont Saint-Michel, but the windowpane was a bit dirty with insects on it.

Not much to say … only good stuff! Nice welcome at reception when we checked in earlier than planned. We got touristic advice to go around and they kept our big suitcases. We unfortunately didn’t get parking as they were full.. all reserved (NB: trip.com never discussed that we had to book the parking, this is something Accor and Trip.com should discuss about as this is now our 2nd encounter of this problem…. Coming from Malaysia and renting a car, this is not helping… we had no idea we had to reserve parking) The bedroom was very nice, pretty balcony but small bathroom… especially given the placement of the toilet…. lol. But never mind. Nice deck of the bedroom and the hotel too… themed on Christian Dior and fashion, we liked that ☺️ Last the breakfast and its location: beautiful. The view of the sea is really good, the furniture is nicely chosen, and the food is good. First time I see a « make your sunny side up eggs yourself » set in a hotel, which was cool.

Check-in was smooth, our room was available immediately at 3pm check-in time which was important as we had to rush for our abbey tour. Front desk staff can speak English and are helpful and friendly, offering to help us with our bags as our room was on the second floor and there are no lifts in the 2-level building. Room-wise is small and rather basic but clean and toilet is separate from shower which is good. Single beds are also small but okay for us. The location is its greatest plus point, with the shuttle bus stop just outside the hotel. Plenty of parking lots available. Good for a one night stay to visit MSM.

We reached Erawan pretty late, at dark, in a snow day. Because communication channel with Trip.com did g allow the owner to reach us (phone nor email), we reached an empty, closed venue. Which I have to stay is pretty upsetting when it is -2 outside. However, after few phone calls, and relevant explanations, we got welcomed warmly by the owner and the neighbor business owner and we moved in accordingly. Thank you to the neighbor businessman to help us carry our heavy luggage till the 2nd floor!! Beautiful house and deco; beautiful bedroom BUT, extremely cold toilet and bathroom (supposed to be a hammam??? We never found the way to turn it into a hammam…. It is gorgeous…. But… damn cold!) Again, the house is very beautifully decorated which was so nice to experiment for breakfast. Do try this place which bedrooms names are themed on Thailand! :-)

The hotel is very close to the station, but not too central to the historical area. The historic lift is very beautiful, though somewhat small, and since it is a very old building there are changes of height on the floor that make it a little uncomfortable.

The hotel was really nice, we stayed there for one night. We felt it was a bit far off from the town centre.  there is facility to use the kitchen but we didn’t feel the need. The reception staff were generally nice. They could’ve been a bit more welcoming and warm especially at check in, we felt language was a bit of a barrier. 

The main building of the property is beautiful but has a tight parking space, which… needs to be booked ahead.. and we didn’t know . Anyway, also be aware that there are 3 buildings within the property, 1min walk to each other, and in winter at the dark of the evening, it is not really convenient to go from one place to another one. Anyway. Fact is that the 2 buildings we were presented are beautiful, fully renovated, warm and nicely decorated. Well done. Breakfast was also very good; I just think that the breakfast timing mngt of the various bedrooms run off… as people were queuing up, waiting for tables. My advice: wake up early, go breakfast early! ;-) Again very nice mansion and service.

The location of the hotel was very convenient, about 10 mins walk from the train station and walking distance to a lot of restaurants. The staffs were all so friendly and helpful! There’s a day I was back to hotel from Mont Saint Michel and it was late and all the restaurants were closed. I was hungry and cold and ask for foods from hotel, though kitchen was closed they still managed to whip up with ham ,cheese and baguettes. It makes me feel like home! Also, do try the dinner at the restaurant it was good! I just want to thank all the staffs for the hospitality and wish you guys Merry Christmas!
