Hotel 2-Star di Zhejiang, China

To all fellow travelers who stumble upon my review, congratulations, you've hit the jackpot! This was my first trip to Putuoshan. Before deciding, I spent ages researching online: guides, routes, transportation, getting to the island, buying tickets. But accommodation was a real headache. I spent 3-4 days looking at hotels and guesthouses, debating whether to stay on or off the island. I ultimately decided to stay on the island for convenience and to save time, even though hotels there are pricey. So, I opted for a guesthouse. After a lot of sifting, I ended up randomly picking this one (Jingya Guesthouse) – it felt like fate. It's about a 10-minute walk from where you disembark, and the owner even came to pick me up at the pier. When I got to the guesthouse and saw the room, it was newly renovated, everything was brand new, just as advertised online. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was quite spacious. Since everything was new, the cleanliness goes without saying. All the toiletries were disposable. It's a 6-minute walk to Financial Street (full of restaurants) and a 10-minute walk to Puji Temple. The owner even helped me plan my itinerary, though it really depends on your own schedule. All in all, I'm very satisfied and would definitely stay here again. Just a final note: all the buildings on the island are old, two or three-story walk-up houses with similar exteriors that don't look like much. The key is the interior decoration, so don't expect them to look particularly beautiful outside. Otherwise, you'll be looking at hotels starting from 400-500 yuan. (I'll just upload the pictures.)

I chose the special offer room for the day. Although small, the room was clean and well-equipped. The location is easy to find, right at the entrance of Qingzhiwu. The surrounding area is excellent, with a botanical garden next door and a parking lot. It's not far from Yue Temple and Quyuan Garden; I got there in 10 minutes on a shared bike. Zhejiang University's Yuquan Campus is also right next door. I even tried the 'Jiǔ Qǔ Hóng Méi' tea in the room, and it tasted great!

The location is superb – just a short turn from Nanshan Road. It's directly opposite the West Lake Museum and Qianwang Temple, very close to the China Academy of Art, and West Lake is only a 5-minute walk away. There are two bus stops nearby (Qianwang Temple and Hehuachi Tou), and Wushan Square station isn't far either. Across the street, a community cafeteria offers delicious and filling meals for about 30 RMB per person, providing incredibly good value. Plus, food delivery can come directly to your room door, which is very convenient. This place feels more like a guesthouse than a traditional hotel. The price is about 60% of what you'd pay at a comparable Ji Hotel on the same street. It features smart home technology, and the rooms are very new with comfortable bedding, offering excellent value for money. There's courtyard parking, but it's quite small and requires some skillful driving. The soundproofing is just average, and we noticed some cigarette butts in the courtyard's common areas, so the cleanliness of public spaces could be improved. Nevertheless, overall, I'm very satisfied.

The B&B's location is excellent. During the day, you can explore to the left, where there are many makeup and styling shops. It's also close if you want to experience a boat ride. In the evening, you can head to the right, near the Baijianlou, to enjoy Pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing) with a three-course tea, and the photo opportunities are stunning. If you're particular about sleep quality, I recommend booking a room on the second floor.

An absolutely fantastic B&B! 1) Excellent location, just a 5-minute walk to the South Entrance of Nanxun Ancient Town. 2) The room was spotless, and the bathroom facilities were pristine. The toilet even featured automatic heating and blue light sterilization – truly 5-star hotel amenities. 3) We were pleasantly surprised upon entering the room to find the air conditioning already on at a comfortable 22°C – a thoughtful touch you'd typically expect from a five-star hotel. 4) The owner kindly arranged a top-floor king room for us. It featured a small balcony with canal views, and right next to our room was a spacious communal terrace, perfect for playing cards, enjoying tea, or simply chatting. 5) The service was exceptional and incredibly warm. As a thoughtful gesture, they even gave us some local specialty 'Dingsheng Gao' (a traditional pastry) when we checked out. 6) Within 300 meters, there are two absolute 'must-try' local eateries: Xinshi Tea Cake and Gaodaguo Cooked Food. I give them a 500% recommendation! Overall, this B&B offers exceptional value for money and truly embodies the warm hospitality of Huzhou locals, reflecting their high standards of service. Since I'm not much of a photographer (or very good at it!), I'll just include a few night views of Nanxun Ancient Town and some local food pictures.

The room was beautiful, featuring a classic, antique charm, and was exceptionally clean. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive. When I was heading out at night, worried it might rain, they thoughtfully stopped me to offer an umbrella. In the morning, before I left, they even presented me with a selection of Wuzhen's special local souvenirs and enthusiastically gave me directions, making me feel like I was receiving warm advice from a family elder. Their hospitality was truly heartwarming. The guesthouse is also ideally located, only a short walk from Xizha Scenic Area.

Facilities: Located on the main street, convenient for dining and activities, including breakfast, dinner, and late-night snacks. There's even a live-in restaurant. Cleanliness: The owner is incredibly attentive and responsive, always offering little surprises that make you feel right at home. ❤️ Environment: Quiet and comfortable, with a small courtyard and a fish pond. The cats are incredibly adorable! You can tell the owner truly enjoys life. Service: Absolutely impeccable!

Choosing this hotel was an incredibly smart decision! The hotel offers a peaceful and tranquil environment, away from the city's hustle and bustle, making it perfect for relaxation. The rooms are very spacious, featuring complete and brand-new facilities that are a breeze to use. The window view was also lovely; pulling back the curtains in the morning instantly lifted my spirits. Check-out was super efficient, and I didn't have to wait long at any point. The overall experience was simply perfect, and I've definitely added it to my list of go-to hotels! The staff were incredibly thoughtful; upon arrival, even though it wasn't check-in time yet, they offered me iced drinks and other cooling refreshments. Their service attitude was truly outstanding. The location is fantastic for getting around. It's right next to Qinghefang, Hangzhou Museum, and Wushan Square. West Lake is also within easy walking distance. Plus, both the subway and taxis offer super quick and convenient travel. My only slight regret is not having had the chance to properly explore Wushan Yunshe, which I heard is a beautiful Ming and Qing dynasty architectural site. Well, that just gives me another reason to come back!

It is located inside the ancient town, very convenient location. The staff is friendly, helped with luggage when climbing the stairs. He also gave us travel tips about the town, very helpful. The room is not as new as the pictures look, but it is clean. It is small but everything is provided, and we only stayed for one night, so it is okay. Breakfast coupon at a local restaurant nearby is provided, but the staff at the restaurant is not nice. Overall, it's not bad.

The location is super convenient. Gu Ming and Mixue Ice City are downstairs, and the entrance to OMG is a two-minute walk away. 👍🏻 There's also a large free parking lot right outside. The owner was super nice and helped with luggage upstairs. The room was very bright, with large floor-to-ceiling windows and was very comfortable. I accidentally left something behind when I checked out, and the owner immediately arranged for it to be shipped by courier. I can't thank them enough. The service is absolutely on par with five-star hotels. Kudos to myself! I made a great choice. 😎
