We were not able to enter the hotel when we arrived on a Sunday after 6 pm, so we had to call the hotel to get access code to enter and self check in. Other than that, it was an homely experience staying for 7 nights, with its unique quaint and mysterious feel design. We particularly liked its free 24/7 coffee/ tea and mini croissants and accessibility to bus and train terminal.

Location: the hotel is centrally located in Norrköping. Filmstaden with restaurants is less than a minute away. There is parking available in the Filmstaden parking structure. Check-in: the receptionist on duty was friendly and helpful. Room: the room was fairly dated and was overlooked by nearby apartments. The corridors at the hotel are dark and depressing. The room and bathroom were clean and that was a positive. The room was boiling hot despite there being a fan and us opening the windows when it cooled down outside. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was good. Breakfast: a fairly standard Swedish hotel breakfast down in the basement. We still had to sign up for a time to have breakfast despite all Covid measures being dropped months earlier in Sweden. Wifi: perfectly adequate complimentary wifi. Overall: would we stay again? Yes, depending on the price. The location is excellent for exploring the city on foot.

Die Lage ist zentral, gegenüber des Bahnhofs, wo man direkt nach Motala reisen kann. Als wir ankamen, war das Hotel komplett eingerüstet, die Außenanlage wirkte etwas verwarlost. Aber man merkte, dass an allen ecken versucht wird, dem alten Haus neuen Charme zu vermitteln. In der Lobby gab es Snacks und Getränke zur kostenlosen Selbstbedienung. Das Zimmer war komplett renoviert - unter dem Dach - klein aber fein.

What an awesome hotel in a city with old boring traditional hotels. And hotel is a great new asset to the city. Restaurant is hip and great value for money. Rooms are small but got all u need and feels more spacious than the sqm u get! Don't miss the gym which is much better than many hotel gyms!

When on tour you get to find gems such as Hotell Carl Friman in Motala. Such a lovely place and if you are ever in need of a pleasurable hotel stay this is a place that I warmly recommend.
