Copenhagen Downtown Hostel – Capsule Stay Review This was my first time staying in a capsule hotel in Copenhagen (£80 per night), after hearing positive feedback from friends who had travelled here. I decided to try the quiet zone option with a comfortable capsule located near the hostel facilities. Pros: • Excellent location in the heart of the city, with restaurants, bars, and cafés within walking distance. • Easy access to all main attractions. • The capsule area was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, I left with mixed feelings. While the location and cleanliness met expectations, the hostel’s operation style felt more “self-service” and less attentive to guest concerns. On the first night, my sleep was disrupted by a guest in the quiet zone who was both noisy and snored loudly throughout the night. It affected everyone in the vicinity, and despite some guests (myself included) gently knocking to try and reduce the disturbance, it continued until morning. On the second night, the same issue occurred, but it was made worse by a sudden emergency alarm at around 4:45 AM, requiring all guests to evacuate and wait outside for inspection before returning to bed. Understandably, safety comes first, but the timing and the combination of disturbances made it impossible to rest. When I tried to contact staff in the middle of the night, there was no one available, so I had to raise the issue through Trip.com. Although staff later offered some coins as a goodwill gesture, it did not feel proportionate to the £80 per night rate... especially when nearby private rooms can be found for much less. Sadly, what I hoped would be a unique and comfortable stay turned into a frustrating experience. I will not be returning, and I would advise light sleepers to consider alternatives.

It was small, but for this price in Copenhagen was affordable. Clean, quiet unless you open the windows. You can self check in and out. Inside we had bathroom private. WiFi was working good. And to the center of the city you can go with bus n”17” till the metro.

For the room I stayed in is really small. Even I am short, I could not sit straight on my bed ( can refer to the picture I uploaded). The toilet and the bathroom is really cold, especially for right side of the bathroom as there is no heater inside. And the cleaning staff, their service attitude a bit worse. During the morning hour, they will clean the toilet and bathroom, also for the checked-out bed. From my experience, they stared at me and made me feel uncomfortable and ”under pressure”, seems I should not stay at the area (where they are cleaning). Also, I found that they changed the pillow cover and bed sheet on floor(disgusting). However, the reception is nice. As it is a hostel, it is reasonable for them to charging fee from the shampoo, shower gel, or service (like storing luggage service). However, I have never heard and experienced that  accommodation does not provide hairdryer for free(cost $50 dkk). It is alarming to everyone who would like to  book this hostel when coming to Copenhagen, you need to bring  shampoo, shower gel, teeth blush, etc. If it is possible bring your own hairdryer as well, it is costly for you to bring one for just a few days.  I would totally not recommend people to stay in this hostel cause there is better options with the similar price (like airbnb or other hostel chain).

The hotel has a very good location, just two minutes from the train station, which makes it very convenient for getting around. The WiFi worked well throughout my stay, and the woman at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. However, there were several issues that affected my experience. The room itself was okay, but the bed felt quite small—I was honestly worried I might fall out. The wall lamp was also poorly placed, making it easy to hit your head. I chose not to have breakfast at the hotel, as there are cheaper options nearby. The biggest problem was the noise. There was significant roadwork outside starting as early as 7:30 a.m. Due to holes in the road, metal plates had been placed over them, and every time someone walked, cycled, or drove over them, it created very loud banging sounds. It was extremely disruptive and made it difficult to sleep. I initially tried calling reception from the room phone without success, so I used my mobile instead. When I asked to change rooms because of the noise, the response I received was: “It’s a big city, what did you expect?” I found this reply dismissive and unprofessional. I’ve lived in London, so I am well aware of typical city noise—but this was something else entirely. Overall, while the location and WiFi are positives, the noise and the way my concern was handled mean I would not choose to stay here again.

Wakeup Copenhagen - Carsten Niebuhrs Gade: After a nightmare stay at City Hotel Nebo (Istedgade 6, 1650 København V, Denmark) where I couldn't sleep and my skin was itching due to dirty conditions including hair in the sink and no hygiene products available, Wakeup Copenhagen was my salvation. Immaculate cleanliness, modern minimalist room on 8th floor with marvelous city view, comfortable bed where I finally slept after 48 hours of exhaustion, clean shower with good water pressure, good quality breakfast, very good reception lobby, perfect location near Dybbølsbro Station (500m) and easy access to Copenhagen Bus Terminal for my FlixBus, excellent value at €62-70. Rating: 9/10. Compared to City Hotel Nebo (-3/10), this was heaven. The contrast was shocking - from dirty and uncomfortable to clean, modern, and peaceful. This hotel saved my trip and gave me the rest I needed to enjoy my last day in Copenhagen. Absolutely recommended for solo travelers who value cleanliness! Awesome awesome hotel! My daughter has always wanted to stay in a pod hotel (she’s 14) and this was a super safe hotel in an awesome location. There is so much food nearby, laundry mat across the street. The wine, snacks, essential items, doors and all are all controlled by a wrist band you scan. Makes everything super easy and convenient. They have fans you can borrow (they are first come first serve. And it’s close to the metro this has been just a phenomenal and affordable experience. I will definitely be staying at more of these locations in the future. Also love they have staff on call 24 hours and they have a txting service and they are super quick to respond to all questions.

the room was quite small for me and my husband, he couldnt even take a shower in the bathroom because was too small. The location is great and near to all the atractions, the housekeeping didnt show up to clean our room, we have to ask the front desk for the service.

I'm reviewing based on what is advertised. Yes the room is tiny but the price, service and facilities make up for it, as CPH is expensive. The location for me was great because it's actually safer than other touristy areas. I like the easy access to the river banks, Norrebro, Frederiksberg, and Vestebro too. I was surprised at how big and well equipped the gym is, but it costs 50 dkk per use (which is still cheaper than other gyms' day passes). I did not eat breakfast there and there was not a fridge, which while I knew that, I still thought it is a major flaw of the offer, so 4 stars instead of 2-3 stars.

The hostel is lively and composed of multiple room types of your choices. It has a bar and shared kitchen area, where you can do groceries in the nearby supermarket and cook since dine-out expenses are quite high in copenhagen! The place was lively and had lots of guests - if you love networking and meeting new people, I’d recommend this hostel! The place is located in norrebro, close to metro stations (15 minutes walk) and surrounded by lots of cute cafes and restaurants! (I didn’t take photos of the hostel, so I included photos of nearby areas and restaurant instead!)

A&O is not only a hotel but hostel for the young and also family. Have kitchen facilities for those like to cook their own meal. Huge common place for people to get around with working space. Friday night have live music and Saturday has the karaoke session. Join the guests of all ages from student to working adults and retirees and feel like going to one of the YMCA. Breakfast is fair and simple but value the money. 2 stops away from the central.
