I stayed with my wife and daughter, Overall my stay was perfect however I would like to highlight few things can be improved. Restaurant service is slow, food options are great , there were more than enough varieties orin the Buffet we always had the option to order from the Ala carte menu. I would like to say a big thank you to Sangeeta from the buffet restaurant . She was superb, as soon as we entered the restaurant she attends us with a big smile on the face. She know her job very well. Cleanliness- Room cleaning was done every morning when we leave for breakfast. our room cleaning guy Mr. Afazzudhin was the highlight. He always make sure our room is cleaned before we get back from Breakfast. He is a friendly and very professional I would give 5 star for cleanliness. Hassan & Family

The Leela, Kovalam is an amazing hotel, which my 11 year old son and I would highly recommend! It is on a cliff top overlooking the Arabian Sea. We upgraded to Club Room, which provides you with access to The Cafe, a restaurant serving Club members complimentary breakfast 7-10:30am and High Tea 5-6pm and additional a La carts chargeable lunch and dinner. The Club room is exceptional, with a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Arabian Sea, King bed with very comfortable mattress and bedding, fantastic walk in shower, sink and toilet, with all the toiletries. Rooms are cleaned well and the food is wonderful. We ate everything safely with no upset stomached here and the staff were wonderful! We would happily return!

Hotel is more suited for business travellers as nearby corporates offices suggests. As a solo leisure traveller the hotel was not for me, in terms of sightseeing etc with everything futher away. Breakfast and dinner selection was somewhat limited but nice food. Prakash the waiter served with care and efficiency. At the Spa on one of the nights there was no one there at the reception to take queries as the one and only therapist was engaged with an appointment! So what does one do wait for hours to be atteneded to? As a sign suggested i left a message for a call back for an appointment, but got none.

We had a pleasant stay at Gateway Varkala. We were welcomed well, and staff was very friendly and courteous throughout the stay. Rooms were well maintained, and the pool was also good. We were at Varkala to celebrate a birthday, and I requested for a birthday cake. They not only made us a cake in a short notice but also decorated our rooms to our pleasant surprise. I really appreciate the effort put in by the entire staff. The beach is a 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, there is a trail leading to the beach if you walk down the stairs from the garden area. The trail itself is beautiful with a brook flowing by its side and some canopies for shade. It may not be that ideal when it gets dark though. The food at the restaurant could have been better. Breakfast could have had a few more choices, and the signature dishes preparation could have been a bit better. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend Gateway Varkala to people looking for a good place to stay near Varkala beach.

I booked a 21-day Ayurvedic detox program at Niraamaya Retreats Backwaters & Beyond, expecting a 5-star luxury wellness experience. Unfortunately, it was anything but. In reality, this resort is not even a 3-star property, let alone 5. ✅ The Good ✔ Polite staff – They tried their best, but they are clearly undertrained and understaffed. ✔ Beautiful location – The serene backwater views could have been a highlight if the resort was well-maintained. ❌ The Bad 1️⃣ False Advertising 🏨 The resort is not a 5-star property. The facilities, service, and treatments are subpar. 🌿 The Ayurvedic program was poorly structured, and my prescribed medicine took 4 days to arrive, completely disrupting the detox plan. 2️⃣ Unhygienic and Neglected Facilities 🛏 Dirty rooms – Stained linens, dusty furniture, and unclean bathrooms. 🏊‍♂️ Private pool was dirty – The filters were off until I explicitly asked for them to be turned on. 🚿 Common areas were neglected – Bird droppings, insects, and a visible lack of maintenance everywhere. 3️⃣ Uncomfortable Accommodations 🛌 The bed was so stiff that I had trouble sleeping and woke up every morning with my whole body aching. 🚫 This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be a luxury wellness retreat. 4️⃣ Unprofessional Service 🙅‍♂️ Staff lacked proper training and some struggled with English, making communication difficult. 🕷 A spider web (with what looked like a scorpion) at my doorstep took days to remove, until I finally requested it to be cleaned. 5️⃣ Unsupportive Management 📢 Management was not on top of running the operations. I felt the need to manage the staff for basic housekeeping and service. 🚨 The Ugly: I Had to Leave Early By the 5th day, I couldn’t take it anymore and left early, spending extra money to find better accommodation and treatments in Kochi. 💸 Instead of healing, I left stressed, exhausted, and financially strained. ⚠️ Final Thoughts: Avoid This Place!!! While the staff tried, the quality of the facility, cleanliness, quality of the program and poor service ruined this experience. This is not a luxury retreat, and I strongly advise against staying here…! Kerala deserves better representation than this.. 😞

Everything about this hotel is absolutely brilliant!! I only stayed for one night but wish I’d booked for longer. Beautiful interiors, charming building, attentive and kind staff, wonderful food, comfortable bed, great housekeeping team. I’m highly fussy about hotels and rarely say this - but 10/10, I will absolutely be staying again!

We had a great experience staying at the hotel which was a perfect base for a few days exploring the area. Hotel set on top of mountain with great views, and facilities including lovely gardens and plants, an infinity pool and great restaurant with outstanding service. Paid a bit more for a larger room with a balcony. Excellent restaurant and menu with cookery and tea demonstrations. Delicious breakfasts and dinners supervised by chef Ram and attentive team of dedicated and helpful servers. Don't be put off by approach road very narrow and steep - we soon got used to it.

The property was excellent and well maintained. The staff were very warm and attentive. Would like to book again. The only slight glitch was in the breakfast rates. We had made a booking without breakfast. As per trip.com offer breakfast rate was Rs 450 per person to be paid at the hotel. But the actual rates were Rs 750 plus tax. So double check the rates with the reception before availing.

We had to change from our big bus to a small one at the entrance of the old city because of the narrow streets. We arrived at this hotel named Frangrant Nature not knowing what to expect. It is a beautiful hotel starting with the staff at the front door the very traditional decor and spacious and very comfortable room with the biggest shower I've ever seen. The spa always has staff on hand and it was possible just to walk in and get an excellent aryuved massage. There could have been more electrical outlets for charging phones near the beds.
