This is the second time we have stayed here and the location is beautiful. Unfortunately the service in the restaurant was very slow and the young staff members seem to be more interested in chatting around the bar area. My wife was keen to use the spa facilities included in the price but the sauna was closed, the steam room and jacuzzi were full, as was the pool. Not as good as the first time we stayed 16 months ago, which was disappointing, but the surroundings were still lovely.

This four-star hotel is the best hotel chain in the local area, it is difficult to find a better hotel chain The hotel is the style of a chain hotel as a whole, but there is no bottled mineral water in the room. Everything else is OK

We have been doing our motorcycle training here in Ipswich so have stayed at the Novotel for two weekends now. The staff have been so friendly and accommodating - we’ve really enjoyed the stay. Having a bath in the room has also been a treat. The rooms are well maintained, clean and very comfortable. We’ve enjoyed the pool table and the bar. We’re looking forward to coming back again. The hotel is also very conveniently located.

Impressive old Mill with working wheel featured inside. We were in the top floor of the main building and whilst not the most up to date bedroom accommodation it was clean and comfortable with workable facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast buffet with both continental and full English breakfast options. Would definitely recommend and worked for us due to location to friends and family. Great value for money.

A superb, independent hotel set in the heart of Bury. Dating back to the 1600s, this place is full of rustic charm and character but still offering all modern conveniences you would expect of a 4* hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we were lucky to be upgraded to one of the apartments set in a former blacksmith's. This beautiful suite of rooms, set over two floors was idyllic with everything we needed. Breakfast was superb, cooked to order, with seconds on offer. We highly recommend The Abbey Hotel to anyone looking for accommodation with a personal touch, a stones throw from all the amenities Bury has to offer.

Friendly staff , really helpful ..very customer focused and wanted to ensure all my requests were taken care of well .

A great location for beach at Aldeburgh & the little Village of Thorpeness and good access for Southwall and Sutton Hoo. Area is beautiful English countryside. Accommodation is exceptional, clean & spacious with a very accommodating hostess Karen. Fantastic breakfasts. Would choose again if back in the area

Great location as ever . Very busy as wedding reception but that is ok . Breakfast a little average-this time - coffee  weak but when we mentioned it was rectified . Overall will always stay here 

The beauty of the trip opened when I arrived at this hotel. The Uber driver who sent me was very happy to say to me when he arrived at the hotel door: This hotel is great. The room and dinner experience after check-in are very pleasant. The room is very old and very cross, I really like two nights here. Quiet, beautiful, warm... The town is beautiful and the hotel is beautiful.
