Hotel 4-Bintang di Crete, Greece

Too much noise in the hotel this night (April 15th, 2024) due to groups of young people badly managed by their professors and worse by the hotel management. In the rooms next to mine the music and noisy conservations lasted until 2:00am ! No supervision by the hotel’s night staff and when I mentioned it to the night receptionist, there has been no improvement. I had to knock the door and complain directly to the occupants to make them stop. At 2:00am! To conclude, 1- no management of the distribution of rooms according to the types of people (the hotel knew it was hosting groups of students, it had placed them next to couple travelers), 2- no management of tranquility at night, yet it is clearly the main responsibility of an hotel (one comes to the hotel to sleep!). We wonder how the hotel is managed... Never more nights in Castello City Hotel of Heraklion.

Sansal Boutique Hotel is a fantastic choice if you are looking for a location incredibly close to old town Chania and also the beach! It is a clean and modern hotel with excellent amenities. Our room had large glass windows on two sides of the bedroom, offering a lovely view of the sea! We also had a covered outdoor patio and sitting area to enjoy the view. The bathroom was large, and so was the shower. Breakfasts were plentiful; there was a large selection of food, and also a chef to make omelettes and other hot food options. The rooftop pool and bar were such a nice bonus! We relaxed there quite a few days in the afternoon, then easily walked to Chania or the beach areas for the remainder of the day. It was a fantastic location, don't think twice about staying at Sansal Boutique Hotel!

The rooms are well appointed with a couple of chairs, a work area, a coffee/tea station, big TV and a large bathroom. There were enough plugs around the room and many switches with light settings to get it just right. We appreciated the balcony and the view outside but there were some cars that drove by with very loud music each night. The only significant complaint we had was that the bathroom shower leaked very easily in our rooms and got the floor wet near the toilet. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty good with a variety of Crete foods like cheese and pastries. There was fresh scrambled eggs and a very good sausage available as well. The breakfast also had a large variety of preserved fruits that paired well with the Greek yoghurt and included oranges, cherries, grapes and figs. We appreciated that the hotel had inexpensive parking nearby at Central Parking which was 7 Euros per day with unlimited in/out privileges as long as we got a stamp when we got in. The hotel also had a restaurant that offered room service and there was a popular cafe just across the street. This hotel was a good base for exploring Crete with a convenient location near the airport and the price was very fair for us.

We were so happy that we chose these apartments for our 3 night stay in Heraklion. We were 3 families and chose the one bedroom, one bedroom suite and 2 bedroom. The apartments were very modern and furnished perfectly. The air conditioning worked extremely well and the staff were very happy and helpful. They were available to provide us as many bottles of water as we asked for and provide helpful info on anything. The location was superb, literally walk out the lobby and into the main square of Heraklion. Restaurants, shops and sightseeing right at the steps! Parking for our cars was a couple of blocks down in a parking garage (8 euros per day) with in and out privileges. A quick 5 minute drive to the ferry terminal. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely stay again when back in Heraklion.

I had a pleasant 7 night stay here at this accommodation while in Heraklion, Crete. It belongs to the Lato Boutique, which is the main hotel. The Annex is right opposite and required card access to enter. Room was the Economy room (15 sq. metres), a little on the small side, but good enough for a solo traveller. The room was right next to the stairwell and the lift, so there were times I could hear people moving about, but at night it was very quiet, and there were no sleep disruptions. Bed was comfy, air-conditioning was also good. The shower was also good, with shampoo and soap provided, though I noticed it was running a little low towards the end of my stay (i.e., no refills were done). I also appreciated that a luggage rack was provided, along with two bottles of water on check-in day. Fridge was big enough to fit lots of mineral water bottles to keep them cold, which would be a great reprieve in the summer time. Room safe was incredibly huge as well, it can easily store laptops securely, if needed. The elevator door got stuck on the day of check-out, but still worked, so not too big of an issue there. Wi-Fi requires a special code that you can get from the reception. My first code strangely stopped working after two days, but was promptly rectified after I informed the reception of the issue. There were no other connectivity issues for me. The hotel location is pretty near to the Venetian Port, and the Rocca Fortress; it is also walking distance away from the main shopping street in Heraklion and lots of good eating places nearby. There are also supermarkets nearby to get water as well. It does get quiet at night, but I did not encounter any incidents that made me feel unsafe. My room came with buffet breakfast included, which is served in the main building. Breakfast starts service from 7 am onwards, and was generally quite crowded at the start. Depending on the crowd level, the staff will occasionally open up a new section of the dining area. Breakfast was generally good, there was a good spread of American breakfast items, to pastries, ham and cheese and even Greek yogurt with a lot of condiments. It varied a little bit from day-to-day, but was generally the same for the most part.

Excellent place to stay with great service. Even prior to our stay, Ioanna and Irene were very helpful over email with queries and organising transport and an excursion. The room itself was very well suited for a family, with lots of space and two rooms. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping service was great. Really appreciated the complimentary water and coffee, the toiletries were also very good. Location was very convenient, with lots of cafes, grocery shops and restaurants nearby. (Would recommend Cozy Cafe, excellent coffee!). Within walking distance to the town and Old Harbour. I would 100% return and stay at Trianon Luxury Apartments & Suites again and could not recommend enough.

The hotel location is okay, a little busy with evening street noise. The ”suite” is a room with an open plan bathroom design (shower and sinks are in the room, which is quite odd). The bed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was fair, nothing special.

Good location, excellent service and amazing staff. They were very friendly and our room was very clean and tidy. Also it was smelling freshness when we entered the room. Everyday they ask you if you want your room to be cleaned and they are always available to help you. I 100% recommend it and will definitely stay again!

Would avoid. Feels like 3* at most. The hotel is in a good location – about all that can be said in terms of positive comments. We found the staff to be a mixture of poorly trained/unprofessional/disengaged. The hotel décor is very dark/gloomy. Our room was not properly cleaned prior to check-in. As others have commented, we found an unacceptable level of maintenance: broken fixtures/fittings in the bathroom and a broken drain in the shower with a danger of injury. The breakfast selection was very basic, drab and unappealing.

Simply amazing decor to match the great history of Crete, particularly the Minoan civilization, clean spaces, and excellent communication for late arrival to the hotel. Perfectly located within walking distance to the Archaeological Museum, yummy seafood restaurants, the bus and taxi stations, if one wants to visit the birthplace of Zeus/cave or the famous monastery. Dimitris, his son, and Mary were very friendly and welcoming. It was wonderful to hear Mary's historical knowledge of ancient Egyptian and ancient Greek civilization-- the friends of the ancient Khmer civilization. Definitely recommended.

Having travelled across Crete on an exceptionally hot day we navigated the often mad roads of Heraklion to find this gem of a place. Brilliant staff, apartment and amenities!! We found the apartment to be very modern with all the mod cons and more! The staff were very locally knowledgeable and generous with their time and assistance. We couldn’t recommend this highly enough. As a family of four it’s often hard to do these kind of trips well and we needed a one night lay over in comfort prior to an early ferry to Santorini. I only wish we’d planned an extra night here to chill in luxury a bit more. The pool Is hilariously tiny but good fun and not to be avoided even if there are others enjoying it’s bijou status. There is a decent sized gym with treadmill and various weightlifting gadgetry too! Just book it!

Great Room, Deluxe room feels spacious and staff is always helpful

We stayed for nine days and had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly accomodating and always very helpful. The location is perfect. Our room overlooked a quiet street and the hotel is five minutes walk from the sea front at the port so there is excellent shopping and dining close by. The hotel has been recently renovated so is modern and was very clean. The room was fine, the beds comfortable, there was a smart TV and the bathroom had a rain shower. My one complaint abour the room is the lack or wardrobe space for two people on a longer stay. There was just one tiny wardrobe. The buffet breakfast was very varied with a different selection every day and all was of very good quality. The cleaning staff were perhaps a tad over insistent on occasions and almost rushed us to leave the room after breakfast, but it was not a great inconvenience. We also managed to find a car park just a short walk away. I would certainly stay there again.

The hotel is in a perfect location. The staff are all wonderful and nothing it too much for them.

This is a great boutique hotel with extremely helpful personnel and very comfortable rooms. I called last minute because we had an event and we wanted to stay overnight in the cityof Chania . They had a room available that was one of the smallest rooms and the price was reason so I booked it . It was overlooking the back alley with city views and soothing water fountain and music. . The bed was very comfortable and all amenities were luxurious. They have complimentary, water, tea and coffee and a bottle of wine for us . They have luxurious towels and slippers as well as robes. They offered welcome drinks and desserts at the reception. Even though it is winter currently, the temperature was high around 20 Celsius and the room got very hot. I called the receptionist even though I tried with the windows open but it was not working. The staff was very accommodating and turned the cool air on, for us even though it has been switched off for the season. Maybe select a room with ocean view for more cool air. The breakfast was exceptional. They offered an à la card menu with multiple healthy choices but included a variety of exceptional canapé, smoothie and fresh squeezed OJ . The chef is exceptional and I am going to try their main restaurant when it opens in the beginning of april. Loved our stay and we will be back and try the suite with harbor views and jacuzzi .

How lucky I was to have chosen Notus Hotel! Perfect central location in old Chania town and yet quiet and peaceful. All points of interest are within walking distance as are excellent restaurants and bars. The room is well equiped; A/C, comfortable large bed, fridge (which had water, a beer and small bottle of wine for free), kettle, coffee machine, plates and cutlery. The bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo and soap. All is soptless! Loved the Saturday street market bemow my balcony! The owner, Manolis, is the perfect host! He is there to greet you in the morning and you can ask him about anything, always helpful and he gives great advice on where to go and what not to miss. And a big thank you to Monica, who is part of the cleaning staff, for he good mood and kind smile you offer every morning. If I come back to Chania, I’ll be back at Notus !

We stayed at the DOM for three nights, exploring Heraklion and its surroundings, like the Knossos Palace. The location of the hotel is perfect - you hear the bustling city just a little bit, but almost no cars. All the bars and restaurants are close-by, a stroll at the sea is also near, and public transport reachable within minutes. The rooms are comfortable, stylish, and hyper-clean, with a tea-maker and an espresso machine provided. Breakfast is rich, with Greek and International food. We also liked that it was constantly filled up again, even shortly before the finishing time. Lastly, every single person of the staff was very friendly, the receptionists, the breakfast waitress, and the cleaning lady. We would return any time. Thanks for a great stay!

L’appartement est très bien situé au centre d’Héraklion. Il est à 20 minutes d’auto à partir de l’aéroport. Sur la même rue, il y a un parking souterrain payant (12 euros) que nous avons utilisé à 5 occasions sans aucun problème. Il y a aussi une épicerie, des boulangeries, des restaurants et une multitude de commerces tout autour. Géographiquement, l’emplacement est idéal. Nous avons résidé à l’appartement 1 du 4e étage. Une chambre fermée, une salle de bains, un grand salon - cuisine. Le balcon est toutefois le point fort de cet appartement. Il est grand, et on y relaxe bien en fin de journée. Le matin, on vous laisse à déjeuner pour deux: céréales, lait, œufs, confitures, pain, etc. Cependant , l’appartement aurait besoin d’un peu plus d’équipement: micro-ondes, ciseaux, grille-pain, planche à repasser, commodes, cintres (il n’y en avait que 6)… Pour ce qui est de la salle de bains, elle est très petite et elle manque cruellement de tablettes pour s’organiser. Hormis cela, nous pouvons affirmer que l’appartement est parfait pour un court séjour de 2-3 nuits. Quand vous y restez pour plus d’une semaine, vous vous rendez compte, à ce moment, du manque d’équipement. Les propriétaires sont très gentils et font de leur mieux pour répondre à nos besoins.

A pleasant hotel very centrally located to all the main attractions in Heraklion. The hotel seems to have been recently renovated and it is very clean and comfortable for a short stay. The staff a helpful and friendly. Probably not four star in the Australian sense but suits its purpose.
