Nice hotel. Karuizawa Outlet is in a walking distance. But had to take the bus to ski area. The west ski area did not open at the time we stayed. The front staff was not that freindly. No power plug adapter for borrowing. When comparing to the price, it not worth it. The good thing is the location, that’s it. Hotel breakfast was awesome, the staffs were very nice, much nicer than front staff.

Super convenient next to JR Nagano station. Hotel check in was fast and they managed to lend me a sewing kit and a small screw driver for me to open my toy to change batteries. Breakfast selection wasn’t that great with as it had few muslim friendly options. Room was big. Laundry service had to be booked in advance and we didn’t know so couldn’t do our laundry. The TV had a screen to show the amount of time remaining for the laundry machines. There was a free water dispenser but only at hotel lobby. For convenience to train station and easy access to snow monkey bus, it was still an awesome experience for us.

The food quality of the Spanish set dinner and breakfast was excellent and beyond our expectation. All the staff including front desk and restaurant were very friendly and hospitable. The location is convenient and walkable from bus station or to the shops, the rental of bicycles was included in the room rate. Many places are accessible by bicycles and kind of convenient to cycling around. The free flow drinks and snacks was a very kind gesture and face masks were very thoughtful room amenities for the dry weather. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to next visit soon.

Hotel Indigo Karuizawa is an excellent hotel where you can enjoy and relax during your holiday. We have enjoyed very much the breakfast and the dinner at the restaurant. Must stay again next time when have trip at Karuizawa.

Excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from Matsumoto Station! Spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious room for Japan. The free simple supper (ramen or croffle ice cream) was a nice touch. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious with a huge variety of options. Highly recommend this hotel for its convenience and value.

Hotel is nice and clean with great amenities. Onsen is well renovated and have full facilities including sauna and outdoor pool. Parking is big and plently of lots. Bus to Tokyo stops here as well. Only issue is the location, seems like middle of nowhere. A bit of distance from Nagano station.

Excellent new hotel, very well furnished and decorated rooms. Shoes off as soon as you enter the hotel. They even have a cleaning machine at the entrance to clean the wheels of your luggage. Nice onsen, though a little small. Free popsicles and ramen for supper. Very close to Matsumoto Train station.

We had an amazing 2 nights stay here! Located about 5 minutes short walk from the train station, there were a convenience store and small supermarket directly across the hotel. We weren't expecting much when we booked as the photos look dated and it was a last minute trip but oh mine, we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The room was large and although it was the old room, it had a certain charmimg character to it that we love. The bathroom was also big, clean and had a lovely large bathtub. I love the full range of toiletries they provided and was hoping to buy it in Tokyo to bring home but I couldn't. There was a common area on the second floor where water, juice and coffee were provided and we bought our own sake in the evening and sat there. We spent two peaceful evenings here after dinner and it was lovely. Our only complaint was the bed was rather soft and the pillows were flat. But we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Karuizawa.

The service at this hotel is excellent. From the concierge to front desk. Location is near Matsumoto station. I was directed to a multi storey hotel parking at the back of the hotel. It cost 1100 yen per day (multiple entry per day). Just exchange your parking ticket with the reception . They settle the parking fees when you check out. The hotel is rather old. Looks like you entered the 1980s zone. Rooms are renovated to some extend but I could see the wear and tear. Housekeeping a bit sloppy as the window bay area was dusty when we checked in and there was a musky smell esp the bathroom.

Great place and the standards you'd expect of Holiday Inn, but you really need to drive to make it more convenient. There's only one bus to and fro which costs 1,230 Yen from Shinano-Omachi station. There is also nothing in the near area nor any Uber services. Still, the restaurant is pretty decent and there's a pool + Onsen with a simple vending machine as well as a shop selling apparels or food items. Christmas vibes were all-in when we went around mid November. Overall, a great hotel and if the location doesn't bother you because you drive, you'll likely have a good time.

This hotel is a bit remote to those not driving . But the rate is very reasonable and by taxi is short distance to everywhere near train and outlet for shopping n food . The hotel restaurant for dinner is very good with live music and cost is very reasonable with good service . But you need to do reservation in advance . There is a big supermarket a few steps away that you could buy fresh produce to cook simple meal in your room’s kitchen . The public pool is sufficient and cleanliness is fair . Overall a value for money hotel .

Absolutely fantastic stay! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The room was immaculate, with breathtaking snow views. Delicious breakfast and convenient location. Highly recommend for both business and leisure travelers. Will definitely return!

Met with welcoming and good service staff, start of a great 2-night stay. The breakfast, Japanese and Western were appetising. There are 2 routes to the hotel by car, both will have narrow and winding country roads at certain stretch to and from the hotel. Can be intimidating drive in the night especially when the days are short from November onwards.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife and two children during a two-night trip to Karuizawa in early February. The hotel is around 100 years old and its claim to fame is that John Lennon has stayed there. The piano that he played on is still in the bar. Location: The hotel is near Old Ginza Street and around a 15-minutes drive from Karuizawa station. It was not difficult to find, but you must navigate a narrow approach to the hotel which is icy at this time of the year, so you must drive carefully. Cleaniness: The staff told me that the hotel was only recently and everything was very clean and in good condition. Service: The receptionist that conducted the check-in was probably the Japanese that spoke the best English that I had encountered on this trip. He spent a lot of time explaining the hotel to our family. The porter was also very helpful and polite. When we asked for extra toothbrushes and slippers for the children, housekeeping was very prompt in delivering them and even brought some children's robes for my sons. Facilities: The hotel did not have many facilities. There is a small shop, a bar and a french restaurant but not much else. Some rooms had private hot springs in them and they gave us the opportunity to upgrade. Our room, had a small balcony even though we were on the ground floor. It looked onto a wooded area so there was not much to see, especially at night. However, when it snowed the next morning, my kids loved going out and playing in the snow. I was particularly impressed by the breakfast. It was a simple American breakfast very well presented. It was very pleasurable to look out into the inner courtyard with it was snowing. Overall: I like this hotel as it has a lot of character. It is architecturally attractive and has kept a lot of its charm despite renovation. The staff are very professional and polite. I would stay in this hotel again.

This is a no frills hotel. Only green tea is provided in the room. There's a coffee service in the morning, but the coffee tastes burnt, not my style. There's no daily cleaning. However, if you stay for more than 4 nights, they will clean the room on the 4th day. The evening welcome drink is a strong feature of this hotel. The location is fabulous.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast had amazing food. The onsen bath were great after a long day of hiking. The room was specious and clean, and the futon beds were very comfortable.

It's a historical hotel with a long history. You can feel the traditions of Japan. They provide great service. Even though you it's a super old hotel, but it's very clean and tidy inside. They have done the renovation so you don't feel that old. That means you can feel the history but super clean and tidy.
